Been to this location a couple of times and the staff here is so friendly for the most part. Whenever I’ve gone in there’s a couple of baristas there always ready to help get me whatever I need as quickly as possible. Surprisingly I’ve been there on occasions where there’s just one guy working and still the line moves fairly quickly. Which is really good when it comes to Starbucks and long lines! I’ve never been dissatisfied with the drinks given to me at this location, they’re nice and neat and they’re always on point with their flavor. Definitely would recommend this Starbucks over the one across the street!

If I could give this 0 stars I would. The barista was rude and over charged me for my drink. I’ve been going here and paying $ 2 for my drink and today she charged me $ 2.35. When I confronted her about it she said we charge more for ice and the cup. Never heard of that before, especially when I was there yesterday and was only charged $ 2. NEVER going here again…

The coffee is up to Starbucks standard but the service is poor. The barista working the register mumbled the entire time and was not friendly like most Starbucks employees are. The barista took so long to make my drink. They handed me my cup and coffee was spilling out of the top. When I asked for a napkin the guy said«around the corner.» I was very disappointed because usually Starbucks is quick and efficient. I drive down the street to the location on Hermosa Ave. where the service is much quicker and the staff is friendly.

The line can sometimes get a little long, but moves pretty quickly. The employees have always been very nice to me and my long list of drink orders for my co-workers(with the exception of one guy.) The drinks are all made uniformly and I like knowing that I’ll get the same tasting drink every time.

FYI: This Starbucks is located inside of Von’s. My relationship with this particular Starbucks started off like ANY relationship starts off. Sane, friendly, affectionate and fun. I used to stop by every morning before work because there was almost never a line, unlike the Hermosa Ave & Manhattan Beach locations, and the barista knew my name which was a major plus… But an abuser is an abuser and the lashings, much to my surprise, were definitely on their way. The barista who worked mornings used to greet me with a smile and kind conversation and took my semi-strange(but practically ordinary compared to other customers) drink requests with a jolly laugh and then sent me off with a yummy beverage, a warm goodbye, wishing that my day would go as I had hoped. All of that changed though when something clearly had changed in her personal life… After a couple of months, I wasn’t greeted with a genuine smile anymore. I got a forced smile which quickly turned into a snarl as I was asking for my drink. See, I like variety. I’m not one of those people that gets the same thing every single time. If I wanted that, I would get married. Instead, I like to switch it up on occasion. And when she was irritable, she took it out on me and my right to variety as a consumer. Suddenly drinks that she once made the way I liked, she was making differently. When I would kindly ask her to please pour out some of the excess water so I had room for cream(which is why I ordered a grande in a venti cup), she would snap at me, roll her eyes, saying she GAVE me the grande size… instead of just pouring the water out and not making a scene. It got to the point where she was setting the wrong tone for my work day and that was no bueno. I would leave feeling kind of down which would stay with me for the rest of the day, like a film of hairspray stuck on you. So, I stopped going. I’m not drinking Starbucks everyday anymore since it’s just not practical money wise, however, when I do occasionally indulge(like this morning), I just leave 5 — 10 minutes earlier than normal and hit up the Hermosa Ave or Manhattan Beach location instead. They might be a bit busier, but it’s worth it to be treated like the great customer I know that I am. Fortunately for this location, the afternoon shift crew is way, way, WAY nice and accommodating, so that’s why I’m keeping them at 3 stars. I think in the meantime though, Starbucks would be wise to counsel that girl or hire someone else who’s up to the task of rendering excellent customer service. There’s a million people who would gladly replace her during this economy and would let the sun shine out of their asses if that’s what it took.
