Chatten-​Brown & Carstens is a small, public interest law firm founded by Jan Chatten-​Brown after twenty-​one years of practicing environmental law in several government law offices. The Firm’s practice focuses on environmental, natural resource, land use, municipal, and government law. The Firm offers a wide array of litigation, counseling, and planning services, and litigates in both state and federal court. Firm attorneys provide legal services for clients on issues involving land use, the California Environmental Quality Act («CEQA»), the National Environmental Policy Act («NEPA»), state and federal Endangered Species Acts, regulatory systems, and historic preservation, among others.
