BKB – Beachy Keen Bay

This store is a bikini wonderland! I went shopping with the idea of only purchasing 1 bikini, I ended up purchasing 3! The store was amazing and I can’t wait to go back. Hannah helped me pick out every bikini, she was great! People say that this store is pricey, but these are high quality brands. I won’t be going anywhere else for bathing suit shopping! Thank you BKB for such a great experience!

Pros:
Had a pleasant experience ordering a B Swim brand exercise pant over the phone with Donna from BKB several days ago. (I had been looking for this pant, called the B. Swim merchant directly, who then located the item at this retailer.) After placing my order with Donna, I rec’d prompt emails confirmations of both my order and then shipping confirmation. My item is scheduled to arrive on Saturday! Donna (who — perhaps — is the owner or manager?) was nice and thorough in taking my order. Also, no charge for shipping. And, although this was a phone order, I’ve been to the BKB store, and it’s fun to shop there… items are nicely merchandized, the floor is well-​organized, store is well-​staffed, and a clerk is usually nearby offering help, as needed.
Cons:
Price. Would’ve given BKB 5 stars, but the item was still at full price, even though most merchants who carry B. Swim have discounted this particular item at this late time in the season, and 2016 merchandise is coming out soon. Was really surprised. But still… I wanted the pant, and BKB was the only merchant who still had it… so, full price it was ;).

This store has the cutest suits!!! And the sales assistants are nice and non judgemental. I have looked everywhere for a Frankie’s suit in my size and I found it there! One of the sales ladies helped me find it and it made my day! Can’t wait to wear it this weekend!

Such good customer service! Was in there over an hour and the ladies in there were always on top of stuff and looking for different styles of bikinis for me! Didn’t realize how good the service was until I walked across the street to Spyder and got just the opposite. First time at BKB today and will definitely be back!

I’ve lived in the area for many years and I’ve visited the store no less than 10 times. It’s close to the pier and has a great selection of bathing suits, if you want to pay somewhere around $ 200 per suit. From jeans and T-​shirts to bathing suits and flip-​flops, this place is insanely overpriced and I would only use it as a last minute resort. I’m amazed that plain, very basic shirts are on average somewhere between $ 40-​$ 55.
I’ve also had more friendly customer service in a DMV. The staff is typical seated behind the desk, they egg knowledge new customers about 50% of the time and heaven forbid you have a return that you don’t want to exchange, they’d love to make the return last about 10 minutes (I bought a quick T-​shirt for a friend who sought in the window and wanted it, I got three blocks away before I realized there was a giant hole in the bottom of it that looked like it had been eaten by moths).
There’s a cute beach store right across the street that’s much more friendly and about half the price, I would always try there first!

My dream shop. Cute, quality and reasonably priced bathing suits for the ‘larger’ ladies. I’ve had a hard time finding non’grandma type tops for my naturally large ‘top’. I add ‘natural’ because being that, I need a bit more support. The halter tops have a thicker band, to prevent the digging into the back of the neck. Cute cover ups, beach wear for all shapes, sizes … Boys and girls. I’ll be back soon!

I purchased from BKB, over Labor Day weekend, two pairs of Cobian flip flops. They were offering buy one pair and receive 50% off a second pair of equal or lesser value. I have purchased the Cobian brand in the past and have been very pleased with the quality of the sandal, albeit it is a pricier flip-​flop.
I wore one pair on occasional weekends over the past three months. I noticed that almost immediately, the sole became separated in the toe area from the main part of the sandal, making it very difficult to walk. Too, I noticed the sandal was not standing up with normal wear, i.e., the thickness of the sandal was quickly deteriorating, making some places of the sandal, such as the big toe or heel areas, very thin.
This past weekend, I wore the second pair for the first time. The sole immediately became separated from the main part of the shoe. Since the second pair was exhibiting the exact initial problem as the first pair, I took both pairs of sandals back to BKB. Hannah was very helpful. She explained the store would replace both pairs of flip-​flops. Since my size was not in stock on these particular sandals, Hannah said she would contact me when their new shipment arrived.
The next day I received a call from Donna who informed me of something completely different. She indicated that since a lot of time had passed since my initial purchase that it was my responsibility to send the sandals back to the manufacturer who would, in turn, send me new pairs of sandals.
I am disappointed the store did not rectify this problem. I don’t believe my expectation of the store replacing the sandals was out of the realm of reasonableness. I will definitely think twice before I purchase future items from BKB.

Love the collection of Alternative they have and their flipflops. To me I think their shop is huge but inefficiently filled with too many bikini’s.
I would love to see more different pieces. :)

Went in with a friend and one of my kids (she’s little) to undertake the daunting task of finding a suit that I feel okay to be seen in in the light of day. Not everyone has model bodies! Anyway, I digress. Staff was extremely helpful and sweet, greeted us immediately and had zero air of sometimes pompous beach city frou frou shops. They consistently took my selections back to back so I had my hands freed up. Because I was carrying my daughter many times the sales associate offered to help me find sizes and even went off on her own to scout for styles of suits I might like, in fact, I actually went with one she selected and I almost died over how much I loved it.
The fitting room they gave me was extra spacious, they gave me like a deluxe room so there was enough space for the both of us to comfortably do what we needed to do in that room. Always came back to check on us and see how everything was going.
They have a crazy amount of selections to choose from, great designers, some of the prices were a little wowsers but I expected as much. My friend and I both walked out happy campers! Thank you BKB!
Just a tip, when you make a purchase the receipt gives you $ 1 off some gelato next door and dayummm it’s goooooood. It was worth it!

I really like the selection of old looking sports shirts, but my wife and kids love the bathing suits and sandal selection. The selection is pretty broad and the service is outstanding.

I love this place. Hot bikinis and free ice-​cream! Yep, I spent over $ 35 dollars and my receipt was good for a free small gelato ice-​cream next door! Doesn’t get better than that!

Holy Professional sports team t shirts!
Drove down to Hermosa Beach this past weekend to escape the LA heat wave that decided to come after a week of what felt like the cusp of fall. My boys and I spent the afternoon eating drinking and shopping. Well more like speed shopping, my boys can get a little restless. They gave me a 10 minute time limit for each store.
Upon crossing the threshold that is BKB, the 10 minute rule went out the window. The boys went off in separate directions and started making noises of excitement in reference to the goods. I went to the whole wall donning swim suit after colorful swim suit first, I was less than impressed but I won’t deduct points, considering it is the end of the summer and all.

After inspecting the wall of bathing suits I made my way over to the shirt portion of the store. My jaw nearly hit the floor when I saw a red tank hanging on the wall. I walked over inspected the garments for my size, voila they only had my size left, fate? I think so. I can not believe that I not only found a rad tank but it was also so cheap. I nabbed an SF 49er’s tank just in time for the Sunday game in which the niners destroyed the Jets. Hazzah!
I also found a new pair of thin strapped comfortable flip flops, that were super affordable and match everything so well. I made it out of the store for under $ 50, while I was being rung up I had a lovely chat with the sales associate about the pros and cons of living in the valley as compared to the beach. Super friendly staff and very organized store. I’ll be back to nab some more gear in the future.

I was walking around Hermosa Beach this morning and happened to stop by BKB. I’m so glad that I did, because all of the swimsuits were 50% off!
They have a pretty large selection of mix and match swimwear, with plenty of colors, styles, and sizes. I was able to find an XS in both top and bottom without any trouble.
They also have some casual clothing for girls and all of the things were reasonably priced for a small store. Customer service was friendly and helpful. I’d definitely return!

We also find cool stuff here. Shirts for both of us, dresses, etc. Friendly staff, great location. If you’re a sports fan, I you’re pretty much guaranteed that they’ll have vintage gear for your favorite team.

I have shopped here for years! They have everything from inexpensive cover ups to designer jeans and other clothing. I love the selection, any age group can shop there and I NEVER miss the Labor Day Sale, buy one, get two free! If you want a cute little dress or outfit and not break the bank, stop in you will be pleasantly surprised. Oh and the suits go from itty bitty, to those Moms will wear!

BEST selection of bathing suits in Hermosa and maybe even the South Bay. Carries Sunsets Separates in many styles and colors — stock rotates all year round. I do not buy my bathing suits anywhere else. Prices are a little high, but probably comparable to other swim and surf shops in the area.
Lots of cute clothes for women, men, children. Women’s shoes and active wear too.
The staff is super nice.

I guess the this store expanded with the store next door or something like that. They have a lot of bathing suits and jeans. The prices are a bit high.

I love this place. This is my go to spot for comfy flip flops.

I found some cute essential beach straw beach tote bags at very reasonable prices and a swarm of girls hoarding the sales bins for half-​priced bikinis during the Fiesta. Too bad I’d already done my bikini shopping early on, or I probably would have been right in there with ‘em. If I remember right, there is a second story for shoes and accessories. I also appreciate their vast selection of Chucks.
