Hermann Wurst Haus is wine country’s premier meat, sausage and deli, featuring more than 47 varieties of award-winning bratwurst and sausages, grand champion house-smoked bacons and gourmet foods and gifts. Conveniently located in historic, downtown Hermann, Missouri, within eyeshot of the Amtrak station, making it the ideal first and last stop of any visit to Hermann.
Hermann Wurst Haus is proudly serving the following Missouri cities: Hermann, Columbia, Jefferson City, St Louis, St. Charles, Troy, Fulton, and the rest of Franklin, Warren, Montgomery, and Gasconade Counties.
History
Established in 2011.
After 40 years in his family meat and sausage business, Mike and Lynette Sloan decided to start their own business in historic downtown Hermann, MO. Mike is a state and national award winning wurstmeister and was the 2012 – 2013 President of the American Association of Meat Processors.
In June of 2011 Mike and Lynette purchased the old NAPA Auto Parts building right in the heart of the action in downtown Hermann. The building was almost completely gutted and remodeled creating a beautiful retail and dining space decorated with native eastern red cedar and a meat processing facility in the back portion of the building.
Opening Day for the store was Sept 1st, 2011 and business has been booming since the door opened. Mike had created 45 bratwurst flavors and there is free sampling daily with the sampled brats being featured in the deli menu.
Mike just recently expanded his repetoire by adding his own line of handcrafted German Beers which are available in bottle or on draught.

Business Owner
Mike has been in the meat processing industry for more than 40 years. He began his career at his parents’ meat processing plant in Swiss, Missouri. Mike and his wife, Lynette, ventured out on their own in June 2011. They opened the doors to their own business on September 1, 2011. The Hermann Wurst Haus is located in historic, downtown Hermann, Missouri. Mike has free rein at the Hermann Wurst Haus where he can showcase his expertise and creative bratwurst and sausage recipes.
Over the course of Mike’s career he has won more than 400 national, state and regional awards; including 14 best of show honors. He has served as president of the American Association of Meat Processors (AAMP) and past treasurer. He is a past president of the Missouri Association of Meat Processors (MAMP). Mike is also a two-time hall of famer; inducted into the Hermann Wurstfest Hall of Fame in 1997 and in 2012 he was inducted into the MAMP Hall of Fame.
