I have gone to this chinese restaurant more times than I can count. I normally order the Sesame chicken with white rice and it’s very good. A little more spicy than it should be, but still good. The last time I went though, I figured I would try my luck at their Bourbon chicken since I’ve liked it other places I went and it was the most disgusting food I’ve had in a long time. The meat didn’t even taste/feel like chicken. It was so hard and chewy. The sauce was good if you can get past the meat. I just ended up mixing my rice with the bourbon sauce and ate that after setting all the chicken aside. I was very disappointed because I rather liked this place. I guess I’m just sticking to the Sesame chicken from now on. :/

New Foo Chow is a casual Chinese and Japanese restaurant located in Downtown Herkimer. The restaurant offers takeout service, sushi bar, and a «not so fancy» full service dining room with booths and tables, which the lighting is dim. There is a flatscreen TV mounted above the takeout area. The Chinese menu offerings include a good selection of the standard Chinese dishes & items including Hunan, Szechuan and Cantonese special dishes. 34 Luncheon Specials with pork fried rice($ 5.45 each) served until 3PM(except Sundays) and 16 Combination Platters with pork fried rice & egg roll($ 7.45 each) are offered. Special Diet Menu selections offered too. Most dishes under $ 10. The Japanese menu offerings a good variety of sushi rolls and sashimi, hibachi dinners, tempura, donburi, noodles(soba, udon), salads, appetizers, and dessert(fried ice cream, mochis). Lunch($ 8.95) and Dinner($ 17) Bento Boxes are offered. See the menu at I stopped in here for late night dinner takeout recently. I got the C14 Roast Pork Lo Mein($ 7.45 plus tax) with pork fried rice and egg roll. The food was hot and ready to go(packed in a rectangle microwave container) in about 10 minutes. The lo mein dish had plenty of tender roast pork strips, cabbage, carrots, onions, & scallions with soft noodles, not too oily. The fried rice cooked just right with a mix of lean pieces of roast pork, onions, and sprouts with soft rice. The egg roll was filled with a mix of shredded cabbage, tender shrimp, and seasonings, wrapped in a firm fried wrapper. The food I had was quite good, in Herkimer too! I would order here again and probably try out the Japanese side of the menu.
