Dr. Chen continues to provide an incredible service as my dentist. Today I was in for a deep cleaning of my teeth for which I needed shots to numb my gums and teeth. He is the first dentist to give me that shot where I did not feel any pain from the injection. He always takes extra care to make sure his patients comfort and needs come first.
I refer all my friends and family to Dr. Chen for dentistry from teeth cleaning to implants. You will not be disappointed with his services and his extremely polite staff. Thanks again Dr. Chen for all you do.

Dr. Chen and his crew are the best dental professionals that I have ever had work on my grill. My previous dentist was masochistic and charged big money for her servings of pain. Dr. Chen is very easy going and does only what needs to be done. Give him a try, I promise you’ll be happy.

I’m writing this review about my dentist because he does such excellent work and the entire staff is wonderful! I’ve been going to Dr Chen for more than five years now and what I like best about him is he has the very steady hands, which equates to. no pain when he gives me a shot! I can barely feel anything when he gives me a shot, and that was the main thing I feared regarding going to the dentist office. I’m a big baby when it comes to pain. The office is super clean and professional which I like. The staff is very friendly and professional I actually enjoy my dentist experience! I recently referred my mom, whom because of old day experiences with the dentist, is terrified of going to dentist office. It came to a day where she had to go in so I took her to dr Chen. He was so careful and took such good care of her, she is now over her paranoia about going to dentist! She was very impressed by not feeling the shot (no pain) or any of the drilling and how accommodating Dr Chen was to her. He is also very calming and checks on you to make sure you’re comfortable. My mom is elated by the way her teeth look now. Dr. Chen made a big difference in her life! I’m not sure he’s aware of how much he’s helped her. She loves the staff too. She kept telling me how everyone in the office was so kind to her, as she had to go back several times. We will never change our dentist from dr Chen. He has us as patients for as long as he’s in business! Our teeth look great too! If you want a dentist that is pain free, great work, professional and clean office with a wonderful staff… this is the place for you! Thank you Dr Chen and staff!!!

I have been going there from 2 years and every time I go there i get out more satisfied that ever.
Recently I had deep cleaning done and I was really impressed by the assistant Maria how much effort and thorough work she did … Really can’t find any other better place for dental care…
They are very co-​operative and understanding in rescheduling the appointments as well as I have been not able to keep my time due to other priorities.

I’ve been going to Dr Chen, for a couple of years now. He’s always been great, very patient and attentive. Always makes you feel at ease. I’ve had check ups, deep cleanings, cavities all done with no problem, Almost pain free! Last visit was great as where all the others. Had 2 cavities and a deep cleaning done. Teeth no long ache! His office is very modern, clean, nice atmosphere. Staff is also very helpful. Highly recommend!

I feel lucky to have found a dentist like Dr. Chen who was recommended to me by a good friend. I am in the SF area a lot and come in at least twice a year for visits. He has great bedside manner and is always patient with all my questions or concerns. He’s very informative but never pushy. He’s also super gentle and I never feel rushed. His staff is great and it’s always easy to communicate with them. Erin (front desk) is knowledgeable and very helpful. Vanessa is great too, she really knows what she’s doing. Going to see a dentist is never a fun thing, but it makes it much more tolerable when you’re dealing with a nice dentist and staff that know what they’re doing.

Dr. Chen has provided excellent dentistry services to my entire family for several years from routine dental services to treating and resolving serious dental health problems such as periodontal issues. He and his office staff have consistently maintained a clean, professional and friendly environment. I’ve watched his office and business grow and couldn’t imagine seeing another dentist. I highly recommend Dr. Chen for all dental needs!

Dr. Chen is super professional and has a wonderful bedside manner. I hated going to the dentist before visiting his office. He is ethical and a wonderful man. His staff is also excellent!

I have been coming to Dr. Chen’s office for a few years now and have always been very satisfied with the service and the friendly atmosphere.
The work I needed has ranged from simple yearly cleaning, to front teeth veneers with which I have been very happy with. I had them previously done by another dentist office and they failed in just a few months. The work that Dr. Chen did has been both solid and looks great. No problems with them for over 8 years now.

Great Dentist! My whole family goes to him, from my 5 year old son to my 67 year old father. Dr. Chen has always been professional, clean and punctual. I broke my crown at the movies and Dr. Chen got me in the very next morning! The staff is friendly, patient and respectful. All of the tools are top of the line and state of the art, so I know I am getting the latest technology applied to my dental health. I can’t thank Dr. Chen enough for what he does for my family. I would highly recommend this doctor. Give him a try. You will not be disappointed.

This place is so unethical. Do not use them. I made an appointment for a cleaning and when I showed up they said they had been trying to reach me. Said they called me yesterday and two days prior to tell me the dentist wouldn’t be able to see me because he unexpectedly had to do a continuing education training. Give me a break. What a lie. They did not call my phone and leave any message because if they did it would have registered on my cell phone. I asked the receptionist 3 times what number she called and I checked my phone right in front of her so she could see my phone logs for the past week. These people not only insult ones intelligence with their stupid lies but they don’t even know how to run an honest business. She told me even though the dentist wasn’t there they could do the X-​rays and I could come back. Are you kidding me? Talk about no respect for people’s time. I’m glad this happened because there’s no way I would want these people working on my teeth.

Dr Chen I am done with your office. Do you forget that you are in an office building with like 10 other dentists there?! I walked in to set an appointment for the soonest available time and was given a 5 PM time by the receptionist the following day. I was given a form since I had not been here in a year to bring back the next day. I even rescheduled an appointment with one of my customers to be here by 5 PM.
I show up the next day and the door is locked!!! You gotta be kidding me. This had happened to me once before when I had scheduled a morning appt and no one was there when I showed up.
If you don’t want my business fine but don’t make me lose out on my business.
People don’t believe the hype from these other people this place will let you down at some point in time. Be it for messing up your appt or something else.

I am very pleased with Dr. Chen, his staff and his office.
I’m relaxed when I’m in the dental chair, knowing that the work will be done
properly and as painlessly as possible. In fact I don’t recall experiencing any pain.
I have had a root canal, replacement of several very old crowns (from another
dentist) and recently I am undergoing a molar implant.
Another attribute I have noticed; he doesn’t over subscribe his dental care. That is
he doesn’t keep trying to generate extra immediate work. He will give an early
warning of possible impending work, keep a watchful eye and remind me if he
thinks it is time for corrective action. On the other hand if he thinks the «problem»
should be immediately addressed he will so advise me.
He and his staff are delightful to talk to and appropriately answer any questions.
Unlike some professionals he doesn’t go into a defensive mode when questioned.
He simply answers the question in as helpful way as possible.
I recommend Dr. Chen without reservations.

My family and I have been going to Dr. Chen for quite a while now (7 years) and I must say that he is quite excellent to what he does. My wife recently had a root canal and she told me that he was quite light on his hand and she did not feel any pain. So if you are looking for a great dentist and new in Hercules, give Dr. Chen a call.

Root Canal :(Dr Chen is a good dentist! It was over three visits and the first one is the only one with shots. Efficient staff and eager to help. I didnt get a phone call reminder on appointment three, but its not a deal breaker.
The most pain i felt was the bill. With my insurance my out of pocket was around $ 800. Since I know the job will be done right, the first time, i will back.

I moved to the Hercules area about 3 years ago and found Dr. Chen through one of his mailers I received in the mail. I’m a scary person when it comes to dentists, and I needed my teeth cleaned so I took a chance. Dr. Chen and his staff are great! The office is clean, and he has up to date dental technology. He makes you feel comfortable and at ease. I had my teeth cleaned, received 2 crowns and will be getting a dental implant very soon. I trust Dr. Chen. He’s not pushy, doesn’t tell you you need expensive dental work (when you don’t) and gives you options. His front desk staff even took the time to go over my dental insurance explaining what was covered and what wasn’t. The only reason I’m not giving him 5 stars is because I haven’t gotten my implant yet. Stay tuned for an update!
Update! — I forgot I said I was going to update my review after my dental implant. I was so worried and scared when the day came! Getting a dental implant is not only expensive (and I have the best dental insurance), but takes about 6 months from beginning to end. Dr. Chen was fantastic! They drill in the gumline and insert the anchor. This anchor (I don’t remember what the medical term is) stays in place for about 3 – 4 months so it can heal around the anchor. After that takes place, they screw in the implant. I had zero problems and everything went according to plan. I am very happy!
