Dr. Homa is THE BEST. I have been seeing him for various skin problems and absolutely adore him. He is the best doctor I have ever seen in my long life (I’m 74). He is patient, thorough, easy to talk to, and an expert in his field. He never rushes you, he answers all your questions. His staff is wonderful too. Michelle and Angela– also front desk Teresa and Christina. This dermatology office is tops. You will be in the best hands.

Dr Homa is that rare Dr that really cares about your welfare and ongoing health. He is a top notch professional with no ego problems. He is patient with exams and explains every aspect in a clear, understandable way. I have recommended him without hesitation to many friends (including my wife and a 30 yr ER Dr); everyone has nothing but good things to say about him. He has mapped my body and examines me every 6 months looking for any changes. He found a cancerous lesion on my face and treated it immediately and effectively; several other Drs gave me the «don’t worry speech». If you desire compassionate, top notch care: Homa is the man !!

I don’t recommend Dr. Homa after visiting his office for four or five times. I had a scalp issue which other dermatologists don’t have a clue, and my family doctor referred me to Dr. Homa. When we first met, he was so confident and said he would solve the issue no one else can. But after four or five times of visits, his conclusion is ‘you have extra skin on your scalp which doesn’t fold very well.’ Sure, this extra skin does gives me irritation throughout the day and sometimes even dizziness. This part may still be OK if he doesn’t really know what is going on. But I think he should at least be honest rather than further saying «I don’t think seeing other speciallists would do any help».

I have been seeing Dr. Homa for the last few years and have been more than satisfied with both his patient demeanor and professionalism. I believe one of the posters had a problem with his concern over their body but I believe that this is just the way he treats all patients. He tries to be as sensitive as possible because it is a very personal examination and many people are uncomfortable with that. I have a skin type that requires periodic exams to burn off precancerous growths and after seeing a number of dermatologists in the area have found Dr. Homa to be the absolute best out there.

My primary care doctor highly recommended this office, so i thought it would be worth driving from Berkeley up to Hercules for. Unfortunately, no. I needed a thorough check of the moles all over my body, and Dr. Homa seemed completely uncomfortable with my naked body. He kept apologizing for having me lift up my gown, and kept saying things like, «i hate to make you do this…» I was fine with him seeing my body — he’s a doctor! but he seemed really uncomfortable.

This was my first time going to these doctors I was going to see the doctor due to a rash I had developed. As far as the location is concerned the location looked very nice. My appointment was at 2pm, once I got there within 5 minutes I was called where I was escorted into a doctors room where I was literally waiting for 40 minutes It was near 3pm. The doctors name was Hamas he apologized for being late which was an understatement he didn’t even offer me any type of an excuse which was even more annoying. He came into the office and asked what brought me in today I explained to him about my rash and he looked at it for 2 seconds and said that is called so and so and this cream will clean it right up and he began to walk towards the exit it was unbelievable he didn’t even tell me where I got it from how to prevent it or what it was due to. I asked the doctor for information about the rash and he answered no more than 2 of my questions about the rash in short reply as he made his exit to the door and said goodbye. The doctor basically left me with a mouth full of questions no answers and I was upset. The consultation must of lasted no more than 2 minutes I waited for 40 minutes in the consultation room 5 minutes in the waiting room a total of 47 minutes… Are you Serious!!! The doctor gave me the medicine to put on my rash and was charging me $ 20 for the cream I asked him for a prescription instead which my insurance would cover. I ended up paying $ 5 at Walgreens for the medicine he was over charging me for. I was looking at there website and they had really won me over especially with there words such as «state of the art», «skin care from experienced professionals» I guess I see the experience alright highly experienced in taking peoples money and quick to charge the insurance. Overall my experience with this office was horrible I can honestly tell you this will be the last time I go to this doctors office!!!

Dr. Homa is great! Unlike all the other dermatologists I’ve been to, he isn’t a drug pusher and I don’t walk out with 10 Rx’s for things i don’t really need. He’s very friendly and professional and takes his time with you. I’d highly recommend him to anyone (one time I saw a different Dr. at his office and I didn’t like her as much– she was a typical derm. –looking to make money). He is very honest.
