Open Event: Beer and Pizza Pairing at BJ’s

This was my 2^nd ever Unilocal Event and I must say that Lauri did great job. I’ve seen BJs but never thought to go. I really liked the idea of pairing beer with pizza. Their Pumpkin Ale was really really good. I also really appreciated that the GM had mini deep dish veggie pizza made for me so I could still participate, although I was perfectly fine drinking all my calories for the night :)
The waitresses and the GM were very attentive all night and they answered any questions we had. I was also impressed to hear just how much the cooperation gave back. That’s always a plus.

This was an absolutely amazing event. The General Manager is definitely passionate about BJ’s and it showed. The beer we tried was very good and it matched well with the different pizzas. I had never tried Buffalo Chicken pizza before, but I must admit, it was probably my favorite of the night. I enjoyed most of the beers, although one was not my favorite, it did match very well with the pizza and that made it easier to drink. The event was run very smoothly and it took place at a great location. I definitely plan on attending more Unilocal events and am going to go back to BJ’s as well. Well done!

This was an amazing Unilocal event. Lauri really out did herself with this one. The pizza was absolutely delicious and the beers served definitely complimented the flavors in each pie. The restaurant manager Lucas was very informative and you could tell he was passionate about his job. I learned so much not only about beer but what a great company BJ’s is. They really give a lot back to community.
I am not much of a beer drinker but I found the majority of the beers quite delicious, especially the Pumpkin Ale and the Brewhouse Blonde. BJ’s had been on my list for awhile now and I am so glad I finally got to try them out. The BBQ Chicken pizza was my favorite, full of flavor and fresh toppings.
I will definitely be back to consume more of BJ’s delicious pizza and beer. Cheers!

Beer and pizza pairings — Great idea for an event! The manager, Luke shared background info about BJ’s and each beer with us — who knew that to brew a beer called Kolsch, you have to be in the city of Cologne and have a view of a chapel! Lauri — Unilocal community manager — did a great job at getting us all settled and introducing the event. The waitresses were wonderful at catering to our group’s peccadilloes. My DH and I made new friends and look forward to coming back to BJ’s as well as attending more Unilocal events. Oh and BTW — we went to the bar afterward to try the pumpkin ale with Fireball whiskey — it’s strong. The cinnamon on the rim was a delicious touch but be prepared for the sweet punch!

The staff was so welcoming as well as the GM, Luke, who gave a presentation about BJ’s history and beer knowledge throughout each course.
The pizzas were fantastic. I ventured out of my comfort zone to try some combinations I never said I would (I like to stick to traditional pizza toppings). The Buffalo chicken pizza was delish, and I loved the Brewhouse Blonde beer. I had to get a Pizookie to take home (salted caramel), because how can you come here and not have a Pizookie!
I already liked BJ’s before this trip, but definitely even more so with getting to know the GM more and seeing his excitement for the restaurant and their food and beverages.
Lauri also had some cute Unilocal swag all over the tables that I was excited about, and we made sure to take some selfies :) I also enjoyed meeting new folks!

Tonight was nothing short of incredible! I have never been a beer drinker before tonight but I absolutely will be back at BJs real soon! Everything from the impeccable service, to yummy slices of fresh pizza, and the beer! The different samples or beer paired with the features pizza were a hit! I thoroughly enjoyed myself tonight!
