History

Established in 2009.

I started in the wedding photography business like so many photographers. I quickly realized that although I enjoyed weddings I preferred working with individual clients and small groups. I started focusing on headshots. I wanted to do something different than what I was seeing everywhere, so I gave my images a more modern look. I value true expression and genuine representations of my clients over stuffy, deer-​in-​the-​headlights eyes and overly retouched images.

Today my business focuses almost exclusively on portraits and headshots.

Photographing people is my passion. Delivering high quality imagery is my business.

Hi. My name is David. I own David Corle Photography. Big surprise, huh?

My passion for photography was ignited when I purchased my first camera around the age of fifteen. It was a Canon AE-​1, I believe. I took a photography class in community college and I started taking portraits of friends.

In 2006 I got married to my childhood crush. Our wedding on the beach in Cayucos, CA was absolutely perfect. My wife shared my passion for photography and in 2008 we were asked to shoot our first wedding together. That was the beginning of my «professional» photography career. Up until that point I had never been paid to take pictures. That first wedding changed the game for us and showed us that our passion could possibly be a viable business.

After shooting a few weddings together, we realized that we preferred working with smaller groups and individuals better. We saw an opportunity in the headshot and portrait business and took it. Now we shoot headshots and portraits almost exclusively.
