I have been here a few times. Prices here are great and the service is great. The bar has a smoking section, and the pool/dart room is non-smoking. This place has the best set up for watching sports because they have so many televisions. My only complaint with Breakers is that the dart boards are super old. They also need to add a small board on the ledge below the boards so the markers/chalk don’t fall on the floor. My other complaint would be that the beer selection is very slim. I have never ordered food, but everything looks pretty good there and they have always had a good special.

Being new to Richmond, I was looking for a local sports bar to watch my favorite teams. I was excited to check out Breakers. Unfortunately, I don’t see myself going back. I stopped in on a Saturday afternoon for a sandwich, a few beers, and some college football. I had a chicken philly but I had to leave before halftime because the cigarette smoke is SO thick in there. Horrible. My lunch tasted like cigarettes. My clothes and hair now smell like cigarettes. My eyes are burning. I think myself and one other patron were the only ones NOT smoking. It was my understanding that smoking indoors was illegal so I’m not really sure why patrons are allowed to do it. Regardless, it’s pretty gross. I don’t think they have any ventilation or fans. Very disappointed because it looks like exactly the kind of local spot I was hoping for other than that. But that is a huge dealBREAKER for me.

For what breakers is worth, it’s a pretty awesome bar. Now, for people who want a pampered corporate service or casual dine/mom and pop style place, move on. This is the premier west end«hole in the wall». It’s a sports bar where you can smoke while you drink(and yes they have non smoking) and either play billiards or golden tee or bet on horse racing. On Monday nights they host a poker league and on Tuesdays and Wednesday’s they have karaōke. Another great thing is it’s a 2 o’clock bar every night and everyone that comes in there is typically very laid back. They always have awesome drink specials and honestly, the best I’ve seen in Richmond. I can’t quote them but on certain nights it’s 1.95 domestic bottles and other nights it’s 1.95 rails all night. The bartenders have been there for years and that’s why I’ve continued to frequent the bar for many years. Thank you Hep, Trey, Kirk, Tara and Tina for making breakers fun for the past decade.

«What kind of beer do you have?» «Everything you want.» «How about a Blue Moon?» «Don’t have that.» «How about a Hefeweisen?» «Don’t have that.» «How about any kind of amber.» «Don’t have that.» If you smoke and you want to smoke when you eat, like cheap domestic beer, and eat only to fill the void, you’ll like Breakers. Simple burgers and fries are less than $ 5. You WILL leave smelling like smoke. Karaōke night on Tuesdays with a long rotation. Most people sing country.

I came here one night with one of friends on a Friday night. First thing I noticed when I got in here was that it was really empty. My friend comes here often with his friends, so the bartender knows him. The bartender that works there(Trey) is mad cool. I didn’t try any food here but I normally don’t get food from bars. I only drink there. Oh yeah, I also noticed that there was only guys in there that night… which is maddd lame! All in all… I would come back if I’m in the area akatek1
