Valerie’s Paw Spa

This place is open 7 days a week, including Sundays till 6pm. Most other groomers close at 4ish on weekdays, are booked up to the teeth on Saturdays and closed on Sundays, so this place earns their 5 stars by the friendly hours alone.
It is also close to a pet supply store and Smiths for errands after dropping off your pooch.
I took my badly-​in-​need-​of-​a-​groom furball to this place and 2ish hours later, left with a freshly shaved and clean dog. The grooming he had wasn’t AKC best in show worthy, but hey it did the job when I needed it done.

I have a chubby Chihuahua mix with long hair. I’ve taken Tasha to Valerie’s twice now for her haircut. She is always nervous when she goes in but always happy when she comes out cuz she;s mamma’s baby! She loves going for her spa day! And Valerie’s does a good job!

Great small business in Henderson. They’re always willing to grind my dogs ’ nails when I show up. All of the workers are as sweet as can be. Plus they offer chocolate (for the humans) and dog treats at the checkout counter! Who can pass up free chocolate??? I would recommend Valerie’s to anyone with a dog!

Valerie has quite a wonderful shop here. A lot of rooms for animals, and her staff is polite, courteous, and friendly. I’ve taken my cat to Valerie a couple of times and every time she’s groomed to perfection. I would recommend anyone who needs an animal groomed to go here, it’s a great experience.

I have 4 chihuahuas, they looked great after their bath! Staff was friendly and we’re obviously experienced.
I do plan on returning for future baths and hair cuts.

My girls always look great after leaving there. I like that they’re done in an hour or so and aren’t sitting in cages all day.

I had to downgrade my rating for this place for two reasons.
The first was that I took in my puppy, and twice now they give me one price when I walk in and describe what I want, and then when I come to pick him up later, they give me a higher price than what I was originally quoted. For getting my puppy trimmed, washed, nails, etc (the works) the price went up $ 10 from what I was told originally. No explanation, no details, and honestly at $ 80, I didn’t feel like making much of a fuss. Then it happened again, also only for $ 5 this time, but still, it was disappointing. It’s at the edge of «that annoys me and you’re ripping me off» and «eh, whatever, it’s not a big deal».
The second was when I asked for my puppy to be trimmed, and brushed with the de-​shedding brush, there were areas that were clearly missed, and the puppy shed for a good three hours after I brought him back home. Not small amounts, but a LOT.
Still three stars though, because for a basic wash, tooth brushing, and nail trim, they do a good job, and they don’t change their price quote.

I am so happy with this place! They scheduled me quickly, were professional and friendly at check in, and so nice to my dog. And my pup was happy when I picked her up. .no trauma! And now she’s beautiful and smells wonderful! And they ate very reasonable!

Excellent customer service and excellent cut on our Westie. The person running the desk was attentive to our request for a cut and made sure we were satisfied with it during pickup.

The first time we took our Shi tau to Valerie’s paw spa we were very impressed with the grooming. However, when we brought him back, we were totally shocked. Our pet was butchered. They complied with my request for a number 7 for the body but instead of grooming his fluffy ears and tail, they had cut them completely off. If he had perky ears, he would fit the image of a French bulldog.
Their excuse was that his ears and tail were matted. Since I had just brushed him, I knew his ears and tail were not matted. I think they sent him in the back with a «want to be groomer» that just did a number 7 all over. They didn’t bring him out until after I paid because they knew I would be upset and I was. They kept to their story and didn’t even offer a credit. Instead, I was told it would grow back. I wanted to tell them that I would love to cut their hair and not to be upset as it would grow back.
Never again.

Valerie and her team are phenomenal! Their top level of care and skill is rare to find in Las Vegas/​Henderson. My dog loves getting pampered and treated like the Princess that she is every 8 weeks. It’s a bit of a drive, but well worth it to know my dog will get the best care every time! They are an incredible team and do it because it is their passion, not to make a weekly quota for a company that only recognizes numbers. They base their success off what every pet business should, their pet parents and the pet parent’s pet’s (aka, children’s) happiness. Thank you Valerie’s Paw Spa!

Very nice place and Chubbs our golden retriever only took a couple hours for a shave down. He looked so handsome when he was done. Thank you so much.

Staff is friendly, professional, and the best in the business. My dog has been here several times. The first time he was a puppy scared, timid, anxious but the staff made him feel like he was home away from home every time I pick him up he looks like a totally different pup and unfortunately for me wanting to stay lol. Overall I am very happy with every visit reasonable pricing, great styles and very well educated on canine behavior.

My favorite groomer for my little dog!!! Way better than Petsmart. Valerie & the staff are so nice. It’s also very quick. My dog is usually in & out in about an hour so I just stay in the area & go to Café Rio & Von’s. Super pleased with the results each time. Each time I try something new & it always turns out good.
**update: Valerie is the only groomer to ever point out my dog has a problem with her nails. They grow extremely fast & she has a very thick quip, which can make walking painful if her nails are long. This was due to owners in the past not getting her nails trimmed. I now come in every two weeks to get her nails cut, which will start to make her quip more manageable. :) I’m glad Valerie pointed this out to me.

Valarie is the best! She takes care of my dogs (all 4) as if they were her own. They love going to her and I feel very comfortable leaving them! If you know Corgis they shed. She trims them and fluffs them. And they love her

The staffs are friendly and the place is clean and simple.
Extremely satisfied. Reasonable price for a 4 month old puppy.
Will definitely be returning. I should have taken a photo of their menu. Lots of other services that they offer most place doesn’t (Dog Paw-​Lish etc.).
Also, love the fact that they open at 8am. Perfect for me bc I’m such a busy person and would like to get this out of the way first.
They are fairy new and booking an appointment isn’t so bad, but I know they will be super busy later bc of their excellent work.

I found this place thanks to Unilocal and I’m so glad I did! I took my Maltipoo in to get groomed, she’s very attached to me and was scared to go back with them but they were so sweet to my baby and made her feel at ease and I’m so glad! I just explained how I wanted her cut and she did a great job! And prices are average it was $ 45 for wash, cut and teeth cleaning. I will definitely return!

Valerie is Amazing with my dogs. I’ve been taking them to her for years and wouldn’t think of going anywhere else even though it’s a 20 minute drive from my house. They absolutely love her. If you need grooming for your dog or cat, this is the place to go. Thank you Valerie for your ongoing services. You are simply the best!
