Green Valley OB/GYN

Oh how quickly I am reminded of why I stopped going to this office over 10 years ago! When my fantastic ob/​gyn retired– I was stuck in the lurch looking for a new office. When I realized the PA I adore had moved to Green Valley OB/​GYN, I decided to give it another chance. While I had always adored Dr Torres– the front office was always hectic and often a bit rude. But that was 10 years ago– that couldn’t be the case now, surely?
Well after driving 30 minutes to reach the office and arriving 10 minutes versus the typical 15 minutes early, I had the receptionist tongue lash me for not arriving THIRTY minutes prior. The front is packed with women on the same shoddy chairs I sat on 10 years ago, the office has not been updated but really– rude staff trumps it all. Some things really do not change.
So… While Jessica is the best PA– is it worth it to deal with rude, grumpy front staff? Doubtful. I would hate to come here moody and pregnant– I wonder how many women break down crying after dealing with the shorty subpar attitude of the front staff.

I have been a patient here for about 3 years. I get routine check ups from the nurse practitioners. When I was pregnant I started seeing Dr. Tyre. She was always very thorough with my medical issues that I was seeing a high risk doctor for and was great at communicating with him. She eventually performed my emergency c section and delivered my healthy baby girl. My scar was very minimal and my recovery was very smooth. I also saw Dr. Torres post recovery. He had a great bedside manner and answered any questions I had. Dr. Torres and Dr. Tyre were spoken highly of by hospital staff at St. Rose. Although you may wait on occasion for an office visit, these docs and nurses are really great and that is what is important.

WARNING! DO NOT GO HERE!!! Their office staff are rude and disrespectful! If I could give zero stars I would! I normally don’t take the time out to post a bad review but I wouldn’t want another expecting mother to have to go through what I went through with this office! I showed up to my first prenatal appt. and ended up leaving after dealing with Jillian who was just unbearable to speak to! I didn’t even want to continue with my appt. because of their lack of customer service! They won’t tell you you owe money until you get there so be careful and be prepared for attitude upon arrival! Worst OB office in Vegas!!! DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME!!!

I had a very terrible experience here. I arrived the required 30mins early for my appointment. It was my first time here so I accidentally signed in under the wrong doctor’s sign in sheet. The woman at reception told me it was fine and handed my sticker to the other woman at reception and told me to take a seat. After 15mins of waiting I checked with the other woman at reception for paperwork. At that time she asked my appointment time and proceeded to rudely tell me that I was supposed to be there 30mins early — I informed her of what had happened. She told me to hurry up and finish my paperwork without an apology for the rudeness or mix up.
When called back the medical assistant was friendly and kind. She was the best part of the place.
I saw the NP. I had questions and concerns about things as I normally see my gynecologist for my annual and do not see another physician during the year as I’m overall healthy. She literally laughed at me for some of my questions and made me feel insanely insecure about asking any further questions. As my exam started the medical assistant walked into the office without knocking as I’m fully exposed to the entire hallway at that time. There were no apologies or explanation as to why the assistant was even present. This is the short version of my experience.
I basically left here feeling insecure with many unanswered questions which led me to seek further medical advice from another physician. I will not be back.

I am a new patient at this office because Jessica Gdovin, PA-​C, moved here from another office. I have been seeing Jessica for my annual exams for the past 3 years. Jessica has a wonderful, kind and caring bedside manner. She is knowledgeable and thorough. I feel very comfortable talking to her about any female issues I may have. She is non-​judgmental and truly cares. She is truly amazing!
The rest of the staff has also been great! Everyone I have spoken to on phone and in person has been kind and helpful.
My thanks to the entire staff for a great first experience!

The reason I am giving this OB/​Gyn a 1 is because of Connie. I first went to Connie because Becky was out of town and I needed my results of my blood work. That first time, Connie did not seem what she was looking at, which is quite understandable because I was her new patient. She scheduled me again for a pap smear. Let me tell you, it was the most rough one I have ever received. I got teary eyed. She said I should get an STD check. But it turned out nothing.
However, in the past these incidents were nothing. It was until two months ago I started bleeding and needed answers. She told me I was receiving a normal ultrasound. I told her that I did not was a transvaginal ultrasound. But it appeared on the day, that she gave me a transvaginal one. The results came back and there were cysts.
She told me I have a really bad disease (I dont want to say the name). I started to cry and cry. Connie told me to wait a month to see. I asked her about the disease and she said she cant really tell me distinctly since she doesnt know what it is. She didn’t prescribe me anything even though being told I have this. After a month a torture, my parents told me to go to a doctor. I went to Dr. Torres. Dr. Torres told me I dont have any diseases and everything is fine.
Please please please don’t go what I went through. Connie is incompetent. I never write reviews, but because I became so miserable of her saying I have something I dont, its just not write. Go to Dr. Torres. He is the best. If not, go to another Ob/​Gyn.

If I could give zero stars I absolutely would. I received terrible service from this facility, and would not recommend visiting here. If you are wanting the type of service you’d expect from a medical professional, DO NOT visit here. I would rather my insurance and co-​pay funds be put towards a facility who offer great customer service, filled with friendly people who care about their patients.

Love this office, and love Dr. Torres! I’m pregnant with baby #1, and I’m so glad that he’s my doctor. He’s extremely knowledgeable and experienced, he has amazing bedside manner, and he’s overall just very… calming. I like his vibe.
I’ve never had a major problem with the staff. They have always been very helpful and polite. I’ve seen a couple of the nurse practitioners, and the PA, Jessica (I really like her as well). I’m not a fan of one of the NPs, because of the way she delivered some test results, but I don’t think that warrants a lower rating for the office – I just avoid scheduling appointments with her.
As far as the wait time… I don’t recall every having to wait for a long time to be seen by the doctor. I’m usually in and out of there within one hour. During their busy office hours, it make take an extra 30 – 45 minutes, which is understandable. I think it’s sort of expected to wait at a doctor’s office, and maybe waiting for this baby to come out has given me a little more patience than before!

I read alot of reviews about dr. Tyre which made me real iffy about seeing her. i showed up at 8:30 my apt was at 9, i got seen around 9:15. so wasn’t to bad of a wait she answered all my questions and concerns. Didn’t feel rushed at all. So far a good dr.

I have been going here for over 5 years and see Dr Torres.
Dr Torres is a good doctor and has always answered my questions.
The rest of the staff is over the top ruin and doesn’t care about the patients.
The last time I went here I was changing jobs so I went for my Pap test and then after I got new insurance a few months later I went for my yearly Mammogram… What normally took just a few days to come back took over 2 weeks and when I got the phone call I was told they found a mass but we will not be seeing you here anymore due to you never paid your last bill… First I wasn’t aware I had a bill and when someone tells you that you need more test because they found something you really don’t give a shit about a bill… They wouldn’t tell me anything but that they would send me a referral for a specialist. I asked if I could pay it and continue with Dr Torres and they told me no. It was a 100 $ I was willing to pay so I had to wait a month to get in to see a specialist due to this office being rude, uncaring and unprofessional.
The front office is always rude and when they call you up to pay your copay they slam the glass closed before you even walk away.
All I can say is your female health is very important and you should see a office that understands and cares about you.

I have been a patient of Dr. Torres for around 20 years. I LOVE this man! I told him he can’t retire until I’m done needing OB/​Gyn exams. I found him in my insurance book all those years ago after a bad pap smear result done at the Air Force base. I told him about issues I’d been having and he was genuinely concerned and said we’d figure them out.
About 2 years later I decided to have my third child. Dr. Torres was thrilled for me and my family. His prenatal care was the best of the 3 pregnancies I’ve had. The only negative was that their policy is patients have to see all of the other doctors at least once, just in case there is a reason he can’t make the delivery. I saw Rebecca Tyre, and she was a nasty, cold person. Next visit I saw Fleisher. He criticized my weight and told me I needed more exercise. I explained that I have a lot of physical activity in my day, to which he replied doesn’t count as exercise. This made me mad since I was a bartender and carried cases of beer, buckets of ice, mopped floors and ran my butt off 40 hours per week. I also had 2 young sons who ran me around and I coached soccer. My next visit was with Dr. Torres, who discovered that my fluid level was low and he wanted me to go on light duty at work and drink more water. I told him what Fleisher said to me on the previous visit, and his eyes lit up like he was possessed… he stormed out of the room! When he came back in, he said I’d never have to deal with the partners again.
As the years have passed, I have continued to see Dr. Torres on a yearly basis. We’ve been together through divorces, relationships, vacation photos, conversations about life… I’ve even run into him at a gun show. For a short time, I was out of work and uninsured He told me to come in anyway and that he’d work something out. He’s extremely thorough and runs tests he feels are necessary to diagnose problems… unlike some doctors who order unnecessasry ones to get bonuses from the labs (or their employer in the chain clinics). He is a truly kind, compassionate, talented person. His character is amazing. In his personal life he has proven to be a loving and faithful husband and father. He is down to earth and not pretentious like so many other doctors, just after the mighty dollar. Dr. Torres works harder than any doctor I know. He is on call at St. Rose hospital, sees patients at his office, performs surgeries, does rounds before and after work, and delivers lots of babies too. He delivered my daughter, a scheduled C-​section, 6 hours late, but that was due to an emergency delivery at Sunrise Hospital. On a side note, my daughter is now a patient too.
As far as his staff goes, they seem fairly friendly and efficient. A few years ago I had an appointment at a certain time but was busy at work. I called the office and asked if they could call me when there was 1 patient ahead of me so I wouldn’t have to stop working to come sit in the waiting room. They accommodated my request without any hassle. The longest I’ve ever had to wait was around 40 minutes. Usually when I come in, I’m running late and they whisk me into the room as soon as I walk in.
I manage an internal medicine practice and know the ins and outs of medical offices. Dr. Torres runs a tight ship and everything seems to flow. He told me he won’t even see pharmaceutical reps because they slow down the pace of the office and keep patients waiting. That’s a great thing for patients. I recommend Dr. Torres to everyone I know and will continue to do so. I actually have a friend whose OB/​Gyn said she needed a hysterectomy when she was in her mid 30’s…she was heartbroken. I sent her to Dr. Torres and he said it wasn’t needed and treated her issue in a different manner. When I saw my friend again, she gave me a huge hug and thanked me for sending her to this amazing physician.
On a scale of 1 to 5 stars, I give Dr. Guy Torres 500 stars!

I’ve been coming here to see dr. sylvia for over 5 years now she’s great very friendly and easy to talk to. I’ve never had a problem with the staff they have always been very nice and respectful, but the wait is long and that’s one thing I dislike. I think they shouldn’t over schedule patients.

I’ve been going to this office for over 7 years. ONLY because I loved my dr. The office staff is terrible, rude, unprofessional and has no clue how to run an office. They never pick up the phone. I have to physically walk in to make my appointments. When you have an appointment, anticipate waiting at least 2 hours before being brought back to a room. I would be so upset and then once my dr comes into the room, my frustration goes away because he apologizes for their lack of competency. My dr has since left there. Good for him! I will no longer be a patient at that shit hole of an office.

I also should have checked the reviews for this place. I first went there because I was having issues I needed checked out. Waited a month to be seen… finally get there 20 minutes early. Front desk girl was very rude. Like everyone says attitute. She says YOU WONT BE SEEN TODAY. Why? Because I was late. 20 MINUTES EARLY PEOPLE! They cancelled my appointment.

I see exactly why this has happen to this place first hand. I must admit I have seriously got to make checking Unilocal a habit. dam better yet an OCD compulsion. Every time I don’t Unilocal something up our don’t take others advice and see for myself %1000 percent of the the time I could have avoided disappointment and possible jail time! Anyhow this recep/​front desk person in scheduling on the other line lets call her «Mackie» I began to tell her about the appointment I made with her office for my first visit, was cancelled by phone on my voicemail just a «weekend» before my appointment for Monday.
I really hate that I have to write a bad review trust me. I prefer not to raise my blood pressure on these incompetent not even average (business/​facilities/​situations/​people! I’d rather be able to happily and trustingly spend my money and precious time at a establishment the hold their job/​title/​duty to the highest regard and professionalism. Instead we deal with a bunch of shady characters that so happen to get that job… lol. Ok sorry back to the story…
So «Mackie» ask me «why do I want a certain test performed» this is after I had already easily scheduled for the same request I made for the first appointment? I for one was told just days before my appointment, after waiting a whole month that it was cancelled «just because» So if that wasn’t bad enough guys she is over the top with her attitude off the jump! First time ever talking to her, never met her and I got so much hostility and callousness… but that’s not the worst part she puts me in hold and then comes back and says she can get me seen another MONTH OUT!!! You can’t make this stuff up people THIS IS AN OFFICE FOR MY VAGINA??? So she says well you can see a «p.a.» for a fraction for the time… lol. no but she said «Much Sooner» «I said ok, when will that be?» (out of curiosity). She said «Hold On» …lol. (She had no clue) (LOL) Come back to the phone and says…

Ok so I ask who is in charge of this establishment she said she is not in the office. ok so who owns this place because you would really think an medical facility her in VEGAS would obligate these types of establishments to run and operate in an appropriate manner?! Last I check“Americans” «Pay A lot» for insurance these days to obtain medical!!!
I stop doing these reviews for numerous reasons but most of all because people are going to still give their hard earned money to these people and they will still get business even tho they should get shut down.
She puts me on hold «with no music» in the background this time… smh.lol.

Extremely unprofessional front desk staff! After waiting an hour past my appointment time, I asked when I would be seen and the girl got an attitude with me. She told me I was next and I explained that they told me that 30 minutes ago. She said «WELL the doctor can spend a half hour with a patient!» If I didn’t already pay my copay, I would have walked out.
I used to be a patient here a few years ago and stopped coming because I felt that the nurse practitioner did not treat a certain situation right and I ended up in the ER. I came back today because another doctor said this other doctor is highly recommended.
Another note about the staff… I shouldn’t have to navigate through nurses and staff laughing and joking around in the hallway. Literally four or five people… super loud and not acting like this is a doctor’s office.

well I have been coming here for last 2 years. I haven’t had any problems with any of the staff. I see Sylvia Menasco who I love. She is an APN and maybe that’s why Ive never had to wait that long at my appointments. She is sweet and understanding and easy to talk to.
I did come here several years ago and saw one of the main doctors. I think Dr. Tyre. I did not like how she treated me, which prompted me to look elsewhere. But came back after several other disappointing doctors and just made sure I did not see her.

Why ¹⁄₅ for the staff/​office?
1. Staff is very unfriendly. REALLY unfriendly. I read some poor reviews before going in and I thought, well, I’ll kill them with kindness. Entirely unsuccessful. Front desk staff pretty much avoided any sort of eye contact, and will flat out refuse to talk to you until they call you up… in fact, I had to go up three times over 1.5 hrs to find out they were having issues with my insurance.
2. The wait is INSANE. I had a 9AM appointment. How does a 9AM appointment run over 1.5 hrs late?
3. Seriously, are they not allowed to smile?
There is minimal explanation of what happens. They also get very annoyed with you when you are unable to read their mind and herd yourself to the correct cubicle to find the correct PA/​nurse.

The interaction with Dr. Tyre was surprisingly pleasant. She was friendly and comforting, which I feel is an important characteristic in an OB/​GYN. The only reason I am taking 1 star off is because I was recommended a redo of a certain test in 6 mo to confirm something… which seemed completely reasonable… until my friends that are practicing OB/​GYNs elsewhere told me that’s really not the standard of care. I understand and definitely appreciate the sentiment to rule out certain things… but I’m also a firm believer in following standard of care and avoiding excessive testing.
Overall, because the office was so terribly unpleasant, I doubt I will be returning.

I was a patient here for the last 5 years, but enough is enough.
Several issues, starting with the office staff having a horrible attitude. And God forbid you approach them to ask how much longer beyond your appointment time until you’re seen.
Then you have the wait times. Don’t expect to be seen until an hour or more after your scheduled appointment time, even if you schedule very early in the morning before they have a chance to fall behind schedule. I tried this trick, no luck.
Also, they refused to give me my negative test results for UC without making an appointment and paying yet another insurance co-​pay.
I have no experience with the actual doctors of this office, but I have certainly questioned the competency of the PA’s. When it comes to additional procedures to «just be sure,» they probably work on commission.
Use this office as a last resort.

I have never reviewed anything but I created an account specifically to review this place… its not going to be a good review either. I am a very healthy person who just happens to detest going to the Dr
.doesn’t mean I’m stupid. Went to this place 2x now embarrassed to say, and not only did I wait in the disgusting waiting room for over an hour each time, I was treated like a low life by both the pa and the staff… I was told about the finding of a serious condition as if I should have known exactly what they were talking about. the list goes on. Bottom line is this place needs to undergo some serious renovations starting with attitudes and communication skills.
