Cynthia’s Sewing Machine Center

Very knowledgeable staff! I took my Janome in as I was having issues. The gentleman that assisted me took his time to explain what was happening and why. I would consider myself a novice, but that was irrelevant with the level of care I received. Very happy!

Why is the sewing community so snobby?! I was disappointed when I went into Cynthia’s today for a machine repair. This is the local Brother authorized repair center and I have a Brother sewing machine. The repair guy poo poo’d my $ 170 machine. First, he asked if it was my «starter» machine. Nope. Then he asked why I didn’t use something better. Because I’m on a budget and don’t need a better machine. Then, as he’s telling me they aren’t tough and can’t handle much, he drops the plug, presser foot, and case on the floor. The repair would have been $ 50 but he just didn’t think a repair on such a «beginner» machine would be in my best interest. Um, I think I can decide what’s in my best interest. And with that, I realized it was in my best interest to go elsewhere.

I really liked this place. I went in to see about a different walking foot for my machine and everyone was so helpful. I didn’t get the gentleman’s name that initially helped me, he was so kind and was understanding of my budget. Nancy also helped introduce to me to some potential future sewing machines, different feet that would be helpful and gave me some information on special instructors that sometimes hold classes there. Nancy was such a wealth of information, I really enjoyed chatting with her.
I will definately stop there first for any of my sewing/​quilting needs.

I drove across town today to Cynthia’s because my Janome machine needed servicing. I had been putting it off because I was expecting a one week turn around time for its cleaning and small repair but when I walked in, the friendly service fella’ said it was not a big job and he could fix it right away while I waited. Now my machine looks brand new and is back in tip-​top shape and I did not have to be away from my machine for more than 10 minutes. Fabulous! I will for sure come back! I may even have to return for the serger I was eyeballing while I waited!

I went to Cynthia’s Sewing Center last week looking for an embroidery machine. I met Cynthia and she was very helpful in locating the right machine for me. I ended up buying the Brother pe750d that was a trade in. I’m super excited to start using my new machine. On Feb. 14 & 15^th they’re having a huge class that’s 9 – 5 both days. Hoping I learn everything I’ll need to know there. Thanks Cynthia’s for getting me in the right direction. :)

Really like this place. Fixed my machine quickly. Has good stock of thread, sewing machine supplies and new and used sewing machines.
Friendly atmosphere and very helpful. They have some good classes also.
Would highly recommend!
