it is apparent that unified did not inform me that the door installation was NOT to take place that day. I had to initiate a phone call ASKING THEM when the door installers were to arrive and only THEN I was told they were not coming
and it should be apparent from my complaint that Unified could care less about wasting the customer’s time who is hanging around the house waiting for an installation that was not going to be done that day
but Steve it’s not your fault, it’s not your staff’s fault, it’s not the fault of the installers… in America 2016 it’s nobody’s fault… no one takes responsibility… no one is to blame… I get it

I had Windows put in and have had nothing but problems with them. They said to come out I would have to pay a $ 85 fee. They don’t lock properly and are very drafty. Stay away ! Good price for junky Windows !

As I wanted 3 new doors, installed on my property, I had a very positive job done (last year) by this company, so decided to have them return… what actually happened is the salesman Juan Garcia, arrived and I told him what I wanted… he saw that the kitchen door entrance was in very poor condition, with DAYLIGHT visable when the door was CLOSED !! so he suggested that an entirely new frame be added so the door seals would be perfect… I was totally worth EVER PENNY as I gave Juan a 30% deposit, and he gave me a projected time the servicemen would arrive to do the work… when the day arrived, service technicians Ramzes, & Basilio, showed up and started the job, While Ramzes, did the kitchen frame the frame was entirely torn out, with a new frame rebuilt… it was done PERFECTLY… the new (inner) kitchen door added, then the (reinstall0 of the existing outer steel security door was done also… this was done to ensure a perfect fit as the OLD frame was too rotted and warped to use… Then Basilio did the other 2 doors (a security steel door & a steel door which was the entrance to the basement) he also did a PERFECT job installing these 2 doors… all capping was done and caulking of the seams … I am VERY PLEASED with their work here !! I do very HIGHLY RECOMMEND this company to ANYONE wanting QUALITY WORK !! I wish Unfied Window & Doors, GOOD LUCK and MUCH SUCESS to their FUTURE !!!.

Very friendly and helpful staff! Unbelievably accommodating and would definitely recommend to friends and family. No need to look elsewhere for window repairs!

I would like to thank Walter and his workers for a beautiful siding job they did in my house in Freeport. The men were very professional and courteous and did an outstanding job on my house. They were courteous and cleaned up every day. We would recommend Unified to our friends.

Good selection and reasonable prices but here is the zinger. I ordered a simple replacement storm door. After the purchase and signing the «contract» I’m told that will be six to eight weeks for installation. WHAT!!! I guess the storm door isn’t an emergency but if you are in a hurry for an item be sure you ask first when they can install.

I had a great salesman (Joe) who was very knowledgeable and gave a good price. Against my better judgement, I gave a deposit and it has been all downhill from there. From the lazy customer service agent who wouldn’t check on my order after the date on the contract had past until right this very moment as I wait for a call back from a manager for a pathetic excuse as to why their repair department has missed 2^nd appointment in a row to come fix the door that was installed with a huge scratch on the inside of the glass. No regards for their customer’s time and less regard to secure any form of repeat business. Luckily I’m in an industry where I can warn enough people in the area to stay away from this pitiful excuse of a home improvement company!

I reminded myself today how bad unified door installation is. Today while winterizing my house I had to totally redo the weatherstripping on my entrance door. Unified is not a good door company. I should have realized that when they first installed the door and installed the wrong size door. They changed the door and it always leaked during the winter months. I do not recommend unified for doors. If you call them back for warranty work, they charge $ 85.00 for a service fee.

Experience and interaction is supper and Super high quality work and customer service. I got high end Simon ton windows and at a very proportional price, they beat Costco discount outstandingly. Steve is great to work with and his team is very talented. They were prompt, polite and respectful. I’m really satisfied with the quality of the job they did, I trust them and would use them again no questions. My parents also used them and were very happy. We had our whole house re-​windowed, including a sliding glass door. The Simon ton quality is excellent & the installers were thorough and respectful. Following installation I had to call about a minor glitch. The installers returned punctuality and repair the glitch.

Shawn and his crew just left my home after installing my new picture window. They did a fabulous job. Quick, courteous, professional and they even cleaned up after themselves. Prices were great and there were no surprises on installation day. I would highly recommend them. Thank you, Unified!

FOLLOW UP: Received a phone call the second week of April from the company. He asked a few questions and I received a price quote a few days later in the mail.

I have used Unified several times and every time I am pleased with my results. Last year they replaced most of my windows, and this year I needed new roofing. They are very quick and efficient and have great prices.

Unified just installed a garage door today. I’m glad to say they were punctual, clean, courteous and fast. Ask for installer justin. Him and his partner were on top of their game.

Avoid!!! I had damage to my home from Hurricane Sandy and I had Unified do my roof. It took 6 months to install the roof. Luckily I held back on final payment to get them back to finish. They left debris in my yard over night during the tear off of old roof. The roof mechanics complained to me during the job that they were poorly paid. They did not procure all shingles from the same distributor and the roof did not match. They had to do the roof over. On the second install they did not order new Weather lock ice barrier. If I didn’t catch them they would have installed the new roof over the old perforated ice and water barrier. I watched the installer open the ridge with the claw of a hammer. What he did amounted to vandalism. I held back final payment until they came back and reinstalled the ridge vent to the manufacturers specifications. They left flashing exposed and now I am experiencing a leaky roof. I just had to pay these guys $ 80 to have them come back to caulk around the flashing on the dormers. Another roofer looked at the job and couldn’t believe that they left with out caulking. The salesman will tell you that you will never have to pay another dime on your roof with their platinum warranty. Ask to see that warranty before you book with them and you will find nothing is covered if it is the result of a storm and that you must first put a claim in with your home owners insurance to collect anything. If they have to come out to look at your roof after 1 year they require an $ 80 service fee. Recently I was cleaning my gutters and found about 10 pounds of roofing nails left behind by unified. There are rusty nails in an area where I have a flat roof, they did not use galvanized nails as required on the trim. Also I noticed that some of the trim that I paid them to cap in aluminum was never capped. When I showed the mechanic who was sent back the other day to address the leak he said that he would cap that trim. I came out to check after he left and low and behold the trim was not capped. Save yourself a lot of headaches and go with a reputable company. Unified is unable /​unwilling to do quality work. Avoid!!!

They came back and fixed all. To be fair I would now recommend them to my friends. Thank you Unified.

I had a $ 17,000 job done by them in 2010. Many windows and a few doors including garage door. Windows were installed great. No complaints. The window crew was professional. However, doors were another story. They didn’t have all the parts to install garage door so they rigged something together. But my main complaint is front entry door. This is an expensive door with 2 sidelights. ($ 3500) I notice it was real drafty in winter. I just recently got a new door and when they took old one off there was no insulation in gaps! I can look right outside. Probably cost me a fortune in heating bills. I would not recommend this company for doors. They took the quick route to installing the doors.

We had all of our windows replaced (roughly 30) by Unified Windows and we were and continue to be pleased by the results. The job was completed on time with no surprises or additional costs. The Unified team could not have been more efficient/​professional. Our new windows are awesome and I would not hesitate to use this company for any other home improvement. All around great job!

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! There is not one positive thing to say about this company. A signed contract and 4 months later for ONE door, excuse after excuse about why it was not installed. The door is at best ‘average’ now that it is installed, the hardware that comes ‘free’ is as cheap as you can get. The door has no weather stripping on the bottom thus the air comes right in. Still waiting to get that issue resolved but I would not hold my breathe.
Don’t waste your time, not even if they give it to you free.

I had a very negative experience. I ordered siding, left a 2,243 dollar deposit, and now am unable to get them to schedule or do the work. My friend recommended them because they did her brother’s house and then hers. The work looked great, so I didn’t research their record. This was a big mistake. Please learn from my error.
