Horrible experience. The staff is rude and they lie about the price. Buyers beware…

I visited the showroom on May 7^th and met with Daniel Diaz, a car salesman. I searched around and found a car that I thought was cute. Since it was near closing time, Daniel told me that he would work the numbers and tell me the following day what my payments would be.
He took a $ 500 deposit to «hold the vehicle» and promised me that if I chose not to purchase the vehicle, the money would be returned to me immediately. I came in the next day, heard his quote and straight away decided that I could not afford the vehicle. Daniel signed a refund request, handed it to me, reiterared that my money would be retuned to my credit card the following day, we shook hands and then we parted ways.
A week later, I still had not received my $ 500 refund. l telephoned the office to follow up and Daniel apologized for the «confusion» and promised me that the money would be returned that Friday (days later). Friday came and went. Still nothing.
I called back and Daniel was conveniently unavailable. My only point of contact was a receptionist. She promised me that the money would be returned that Tuesday (why Tuesday?) Tuesday came and left. still nothing.
To finally receive my return, I had to involve my bank and the bank’s attorneys. Only then did Daniel process the refund.
These people are crooks. Stay away and save yourself a headache.

I got my first car Mitsubishi Mirage on 12-​12-​2015 through planet mitsubishi. I had a very disappointing after sales service with this company, I am going to provide adequate proof to the readers so they can understand how customers are treated by this company.
When I bought the car, a temporary registration sticker was provided, and I was told that I will receive the Permanent Registration sticker from DMV in 3 to 4 Weeks time. I was told that I can drive with this temporary registration and need to replace the temporary registration sticker once i receive the permanent from DMV,
Things were normal for a week, I received a parking ticket for Registration Expired on 1– 1 – 2016 (imagine parking ticket on new years day cannot forget) YEP i. e $ 75/​-​my gift to Dept of Finance, Courtesy — PLANET MISTUBISHI.

I duly contacted them and informed the same, they admitted their mistake and asked me to provide them the original ticket copy, so they will take care of it,
I handed over the ticket copy to the sales guy who sold the car and thought things will go smooth from there, After a week the sales guy (Alias name: RONY) said I will receive another letter regarding this ticket, as they had appeal to court for a waiver.
I never received any letter regarding the registration expiry ticket.
I had the recorded voice mail where they had promised to pay the fine as it is their fault. Weeks passed and I did not hear anything from them,
Making phones call is a joke as no one will answer /​put on Hold.
Dealers like Planet Mitsubishi, will not only spoil their relationship with their customers, but they will also slowly KILL the MITSUBISHI BRAND.
I hope MITSUBISHI need to review their relationship with this dealership.
I had a very unpleasant experience and I want to share this to the community so others beware of this dealership.

On May 1, 2013, the New York City Department of Consumer Affairs charged nine car dealerships in Brooklyn and Queens for allegedly using illegal sales tactics to deceive and pressure consumers to pay more than what was advertised. Since 2009, 127 consumers have filed complaints with DCA, the Attorney General’s Office and the Better Business Bureau against Planet Automotive, which does business as KG Suzuki. The principal of KG Suzuki also the principal/​owner of Planet Mitsubishi. The action says KG Suzuki advertised used vehicles at discounted prices on various websites which lured consumers to travel to the dealership in Long Island City. Once they were there, sales representatives showed consumers vehicles and disclosed additional charges that were not included in the advertised price. The dealership also did not allow consumers to shop around for loans but instead required them to finance all purchases through a lender chosen by them. Customers were made to wait hours before being able to meet with a finance representative who then pressured them into signing unclear and incomplete agreements, which were later altered, increasing the amounts owed to higher than what was agreed upon. DCA seeks more than $ 337,000 in consumer restitution and fines in the case against KG Suzuki, as well as the permanent revocation of their license.

I actually wasn’t going to leave them a review but after getting 2 – 3 calls a day after I told them I am not interested I am writing this review.
Given the reviews below I figure I’d chime in on Planet Mitsubishi. This place does business a lot differently than a lot of other dealers. Read all the fine print and do not trust the price on Autotrader,
or any other sites you may see their cars listed on.
I sent an internet inquiry with my email and phone number over to Planet Mitsubishi a few days ago on a 2007 Mercedes-​Benz ML63 AMG they had up for sale. The listed price on Autotrader was $ 26,990. Buried deep inside is a vague wording that there is a downpayment necessary and they must finance all their customers. Either way, the first time someone from this dealership called me they told me that the price was $ 26,990 they did not mention finance, nothing. Keep in mind I am from Los Angeles and getting ready to send the car out for a PPI (Pre-​Purchase Inspection). I told them I would contact them later to coordinate things.
Later that day I go onto their website and see that the price of the car is actually $ 31,990 and there is a $ 5,000 deposit which is not taken into account. Although they technically do mention it in their AutoTrader ad, it is buried deep inside the description with clear intention they want the customer to come in, realize they’ve been mislead and hopefully close the deal. I never called them back as I was not interested in this deal no longer. I later get a call from the sales team about twice a day since. I’ve been told multiple different stories about the price of the car and them wanting me to come in. Danny the sales representative even asked if I was going to come in today. I am not sure if they realize how far Los Angeles is to Hempstead, New York. Furthermore some of the people here are not very upfront about the history of the car, sometimes even denying it came from auction.
If you’re interested in this particular car, 4JGBB77E37A249714 (2007 Mercedes-​Benz ML63) they bought the car through the East Coast Mannheim auction on 8÷20÷15 for $ 26,500. Attached is the run list and the result.

This place is a scam. As I can see from previous review, I’m not the first one. The «modus operandi» of this place, is to list cars in the internet at an attractive low price, and when you get there, they tell you the price is $ 3,000 or $ 2,000 higher, that the price listed didn’t consider the down payment.
If there were negative stars, I would give them to this place, for false and deceptive advertising.

In Sum:
I was misled and decieved by this dealership after traveling over 300 miles and spending well over $ 500 in gas, tolls, and mechanic fees (to assess the quality of the car). After speaking with their salespeople for over an hour and explaining every detail of my situation, I was led to believe that I would receive a deal upon arrival that simply didn’t exist. Classic bait and switch, all potential car buyers beware. I will never get my time and money back, but maybe this review can help save you from falling victim to the same trap.
The Story:
This dealership listed a sale price of $ 10,990 for a used car and represented over the phone that this was the full sale price for a cash transaction. I traveled down to see the car with cash in hand from over 300 miles away after speaking personally to a sales rep named Kevin for over an hour about the vehicle and the purchase price /​process. I even hired a local mechanic to review the car upon arrival, who traveled over 30 minutes to meet me at the dealership.
After speaking with the salesperson for over 2 hours and studying every inch of the vehicle, I decided to make a purchase. I was then sat down and approached by a manager who told me that the $ 10,990 price was ONLY if i financed the car for a full 5 years at an egregious interest rate, and that in reality the purchase price for a cash sale was well over $ 17,500.
With over $ 12,000 in cash in my pocket, and after hiring a mechanic and driving for hours on my only day off to see this vehicle, I fell victim for a classic bait and switch. The salespeople didn’t even have the courage to look me in the eye, as they knew that they had misled and deceived an honest purchaser willing to buy the vehicle for the full listed price in cash in good faith.
I have been buying and selling cars for over 10 years, and never in my life have I felt so misled and deceived by a seller. This was a low blow, especially after spending over an hour on the phone with the salespeople the day prior, explaining every single nuance of my situation before making the long trip to Long Island.
I am now left covering the cost of gas and tolls for the trip and the mechanic fees. In addition, I lost 9 hours of life on my one day off in travel time and am left feeling horribly deceived by a dealership that stressed their «no gimmick» business model. Never, ever will I do business with anyone from Planet Mitsubishi, ever again.

If there were no stars, I would give that. Don’t trust anything they tell you and don’t believe what you see on any website they posted cars on.
I called to see if a car they listed was still available and at the listed price. I told them my husband was coming all the way out there from the city, which is more than 1 hour, by train. They confirmed everything I was asking. When my husband got out there, they told him the car we wanted was actually several thousand dollars more than what was listed. How is this a way to do business?
Don’t do it. Don’t do it. Don’t do it. Do NOT give this company your business.
Stay FAR FAR away.

Salesman Arnold is great and he did his best to look for the car we wanted. He called us every time they have a new inventory. You should ask for Arnold!

I run an auto negotiations service and have clients all over the country. This dealership had a listing for a used BMW. I called about it and spoke with the receptionist who was rude. I asked for a sales or finance manager and was transferred to a girl who was also quite rude. I asked if I could have a pic of the vehicle currently on the lot as I won’t even consider it if it isn’t physically there, she said no. I asked if they use certain lenders. She had no knowledge of the dealerships lenders. I asked her to let me speak with a sales manager or finance director. I was put on hold for a minute and told «he isn’t interested in talking with you.» Cool, won’t waste one second of my clients time there. This is why I’m in business, to prevent people from having terrible vehicle purchasing experiences with awful and rude and uniformed unprofessional sales staff. I wouldn’t recommend that kind of treatment to anyone ever. In the hundreds of experiences I’ve had with dealers all over, this was one of the worst.

I went into Planet Mitsubishi and was pleasantly surprised at the wide selection they had to offer and even more impressed with the sales rep Arnold that helped me narrow down the choice best for me. He was very knowledgeable about all the cars I had questions about and helped me figure out what vehicle works best for my lifestyle. He was very patient with me and made me feel very comfortable and secure with my final purchase. I went to three other dealerships, but did not receive such great service and attention as I did from Arnold at Planet Mitsubishi. I am very happy with my purchase and have recommended friends to check out the dealership for great deals and customer service.

What a scam. Do yourself a favor, read the other reviews and just stay away. Here’s my story.

. It was listed for $ 17,990. I called Planet Mitsubishi and the person on the phone clearly knew nothing about the car so I decided to drive the 1 hour+ to check it out — it did seem like a good deal.
First I dealt with the saleswoman who was summarily unhelpful at at times defiant. I was getting nowhere with her so I talked to Jose, the sales manager. I confirmed the price with him — $ 17,990 — and went over a few details telling him I’d call him that evening with my decision.
I called Jose that evening and we agreed on a price. He was out the next day, so a couple days later, I called him telling him I needed an out-​the-​door amount because I was going to bring a certified check. He said «You’re paying cash? The price is going to be higher» by $ 2,000. He said the price on
was the financeable [sic] portion of the purchase price. Then he confused me and himself saying $ 17,990 was the total price if I financed it and that they were able to offer it for so much less than the cash price because the banks give them a kickback — give me a break.
This place is a total scam/​fraud. I feel sorry for anyone that’s been scammed into buying a car from them.

This place is a total scam. I called prior to driving out to look at 3 different used cars and was advised they were in stock. After arriving, I was checking out the 2^nd vehicle which had a price on the window 80% higher than what was listed on the website. When I inquired I was told that was the «cash price» that the price listed on the Internet was only if I financed with them. WHAT? I’ve never heard about being charged more for cash plus I already had my own financing. Well I was told that I could finance with them and then pay off the loan later. Ok, I was willing to see what their financing options were… but wait, there’s more… it turns out that there was going to be another «certification» charge of $ 2995 on top of the purchase price to take one of the vehicles home. Talk about bait and switch. This place deserves the lowest rating possible. Do yourself a favor and stay away.

I spoke wth Charlie the salesmanager, this is one slick sneaky scam artist. They will only sell a vehicle with their certification package which amounts to nothing for $ 3000. on top of any advertised price, how they stay in business is beyond me. The atty general really needs a look at this place.

I drove 2 hours in traffic to test drive and more than likely buy a car. The dealer had an advertised price which is what i thought i would pay excluding tax, registration, etc. I get to to the dealership and all seems well, I test drive the car, and I’m ready to talk numbers. Prior to going to the dealership, I spoke with Jose and Dennis. When I got there, they informed me that the price I printed out from Auto Trader was incorrect, when it was only a 2 day old ad. Not only would then not honor the price, but they also said there was going to be a mandatory $ 3,000 fee for getting the vehicle «prepared for sale». NO WHERE on the ad nor their website did it mention ANYTHING about additional costs. Not to mention the dirt cheap trade in they tried to offer me. It was HALF of what the lowest value of what 5 previous dealers quoted me.

Stay away from this dealer. I was sitting with another salesman, and although he test drove the car with me, when we got to the numbers, he kept groaning about how he wanted to go home by the time they closed…

If you don’t believe me, go there yourself… i’m pretty sure if you want a used car from them your going to experience the same waste of time.
