Gun Shack is a premier San Antonio gun store in Helotes, TX! We are located just outside of San Antonio on the Northwest side of town off of 1604 and Bandera. We sell new and used guns. Gun Shack also has the largest inventory of Savage barrels and Savage parts in the area. We carry everything you need to turn your Savage into a super accurate competition switch barrel rifle. We are also a Class 3 SOT FFL and specialize in NFA suppressors from all major manufacturers. Local FFL transfers are $ 35 or if you have your Texas CHL we offer a discounted transfer of only $ 25. We are now offering Concealed Handgun License classes. We offer the best value CHL course in the San Antonio area!

Gun Shack is a family owned and operated business. Our desire was to be one of the best San Antonio guns stores in the area. The owners and employees are all true firearms enthusiasts.

Needed to get a transfer done. I enjoyed the experience of doing the paperwork and dealing with the staff there much more than in comparison to Bullet Hole. These guys get right on it and even charge $ 5 less. Stick w gun shack for your FFL needs.

Great customer service but not the best prices in town. I wish all LGS would do some type of price match or something just to keep the local customers coming back. They have a decent stock of new guns and it seems they are building up the used gun rack. I’ve talked to them about trading or selling them a couple of my pistols before, but they seem to want to dish out pawn shop offers. No biggie. The guy that worked there did mention that I should look into Texas gun trader. All in all I have no problem paying A LITTLE extra for the friendly staff but I still check Academy’s inventory first.

Bought my first gun here. All the people working here are not only very nice but also very knowledgeable in guns and were a great help to someone who doesn’t know much about them. They have a great selection and seem to be pretty evenly priced with other stores.

I bought my first micro-​pistol at the Gun Shack and I am happy with the level of service I received. The facility is clean and well organized. The staff was friendly, knowledgable, and there were enough employees to help out customers so I didn’t have to wait. They have a decent selection of firearms and ammo and their prices are about on point with what you see in other local stores.

I am brand new to the world of firearms and had the typical anxiety associated with that. I did a little You tube research but that compared in no way to the conversations and hands on training I received from the stores manager named Wolf. The store itself is well stocked and very clean. If they don’t have what you are looking for it can and will be ordered right away. From expert to novice I fully endorse Gun Shack.

This is an awesome gun shop! They have extremely good prices, a good selection, and very helpful and friendly staff. No Rambos in here! Just good, responsible people helping us to keep our 2nd Amendment rights.

I’ve not been a gun enthusiast for long, but I have been one long enough to have been to each store in the area, only to discover something pretty simple. All are filled with some great folks, but one stands out as the best in terms of friendliness, patience with what might seem silly questions, and knowledge/​practical know-​how on the various guns and their pros/​cons. While I might look at around at some of the other places, I now know I will only purchase at one. Even if they don’t have what you were looking for, they’ll have it within a couple days.
Best gun shop in the Hill Country, hands down.

Hands down the best shop in town. Noemi, Wolf Josiah and Co run the nicest little FFL for transfers and purchases alike.
Have question about a gun? Don’t worry-​they will answer even the most basic question with a cheerful attitude.
They stock all kinds of hand guns, rifles and shotguns. Often they are the only shop in town with 22LR.
Give them a try and see for yourself.

Well it’s been two weeks since I put a deposit on some ammo and still none waiting for me to pick up. I wouldn’t be so quick to do a review if they would have at least odered it. But to go in today and find out it hadn’t been ordered yet did it. Now I just hope it doesn’t take that long to get my refund since only the manager can give it back.
