I came here one Saturday night probably 15 minutes to closing time and I wanted to get some ice cream. I asked to only try one flavor and chose it. It was a very generous serving of cookie dough mixed with caramel(cant remember the name) it was sooo great and I definitely want to come back again for it. However, the staff’s friendliness could definitely improve. I will spare details but I just wished to be treated with more respect as a paying customer. You guys would be a GREAT restaurant if you would focus more on the customer service aspect. I had been here once before with my mother and we received alot of attitude when we came back to the counter to tell that we did not receive the appropriate amount of change.

This place was great! Went with my family during a long drive from Virginia to LI and wasn’t sure where to eat but saw the reviews here were so good. My bro and i had the NY gyro which was amazing with plenty of tziki sauce. My sister had the cheeseburger and my dad got the cheesesteak which were both delicious. My mom had a chicken pita which she loved. Owner was very nice when we told him how great the food was!

If you enjoy gyros you definitely need to go here. Easily one of the best gyro spots I’ve ever been to. I have to visit this place at least one time whenever I’m in the area.

Something about getting a $ 1.50 hotdog intrigues me. A nice deep fried hotdog with onions, ketchup, and chili. Matched with a gyro or a side of fries, and you will be full around $ 6. Now that’s a great deal. I’ve never tried the ice cream so I can’t comment on that, but I do see others get it frequently. Simple All American Food. Great place to stop by before hopping onto 78 East.

Great cheese burgers with quick service. They advertise using no-cholesterol oil which is great. The ice cream is also a great add as there are not many places nearby which offer it.

It was my first time coming here today and the experience was great! Great prices and the food was beyond delicious. Their icecream was awesome too! I can’t wait to come back! The employees are very nice, helpful and patient. They didn’t mind that I brought my dog with me which made it even better!

I LOVE Vassi’s Drive in. My go to is a New York Gyro, but all of their food is fantastic. The portions are big and I’ve never left feeling hungry. It’s clean, the staff is friendly and accommodating, and I love their ice cream too! If you’re in the area you need to check this place out.

Great food. Love the cheesesteaks. They are definitely full of meat. Chili cheese fries are delish. My husband likes the hamburgers, and loves the milkshakes. When I’m in an ice cream mood, it’s the place to go. Best ice cream around.

Love this place. I live in NYC and always come here if there is time before my bus. The Greek veggie pita is the best, whether you’re a vegetarian or not

Expensive and not great quality. Feel bad for all the construction on 412 and don’t mean to pile on but the 3 times I have been here it has been worse than the time before. Maybe I just don’t get what all the fuss is about.

Went to try gyro after reading positive reviews. If you ever had a real gyro than you’ll know this is not it. It is too greasy. I doubt it is even cooked the rotisserie style. I would call this a «fast food» gyro. The place is clean.

5 stars for the NY gyros with everything. We also had the mozzarella sticks which were good but I wouldn’t get the pierogi again. The icecram was Hershey. The«cookie»(m&m or chocolate chip) cones were a neat idea but my kids didn’t finish them.

The gyro is amazing. Wonderful; best I have had in many years. We needed a super fast bite to eat that was quick off/on from the interstate and this was perfect. The cheeseburger hit the spot, too. Nothing fancy — just satisfying. Even had a big empty grassy area nearby for us to give the dogs a quick break.

I put in «Restaurants off I-78» into my Unilocal mobile search bar and Vassi’s came up. We took the exit and saw it immediately. So location was perfect for what I needed. A classic burger joint with a Greek twist, I ordered a gyro and the hubby got a double cheese burger and ice cream shake. Price was very reasonable. In the time it took me to wash up in the restroom our food was ready. Friendliness and speed of service were stellar. We sat on the covered patio(dog friendly, so that’s always going to give them a bump in my ratings ;-) And as a girl who travels pretty regularly, let me say the food was pretty darn good. It’s been a while since I’ve had a good gyro. They toasted the pita, the meat had great flavor and texture, and all the fixings were fresh. I love me some tzatziki and they were generous. Of course I also had to try the burger. It was simple, classic flat top cook with minced oninons, ketchup and made wtih local beef. Everything I could want. Hungry and on the 78? Make a quick stop at Vassi’s.

Vassi’s have been around since the 50’s! A old school drive in with a sit in area and a icecream section selling hershey’s icecream. Good food, quick, ideal for a fast snack or take out. I love their wings. Fried chicken wings, very flavorful crust, comes with your choice of sauce. Their burgers and gyros are also delicious. Not much on the menu, but for what its worth, quite decent. Their gyros are not like the one’s you would get in a middle eastern restaurant, its much more toned down and blander. Driving down 78 and hungry for a quick bite, take exit 67, ignore the fast food chains and stop by Vassi’s. Cheers!

So clean! Great place to grab a quick sandwich shop bite. Located at the exit of 78 with parking I. The back and plenty of indoor seating. Enjoyed my vegetable gyro(right, I know no meat). Tzatziki is garlicky but good. Dan had the chicken gyro and enjoyed. Somehow we made it out without ice cream…

Pretty good gyros. The meat was cooked well and had great flavor. A little different from the gyros I am used to from the west coast but different in this case was good. The service was friendly, and the food was out pretty quickly. Only major disappointment was the fries. They were clearly frozen fries, and not even the best frozen fries out there. I could have made better frozen ones from out of a bag at home in my oven. That being said, I would stop by here again for some quick take out if I was in the area.

Right off of 78, literally at the end of the exit ramp. Perfect for getting quickly and getting back on the road. Had the gyro(on recommendation of other Unilocal reviews) and was not disappointed — very good(fries were good as well). Picnic tables in case you wanted to eat there.

This place is really interesting. It looks really cute and I would generally drive past it right off of the exit but it had good reviews. My friends and I stopped there, it was great food, pretty inexpensive and easy to eat in the car. It’s a traditional deli but I wish they actually had a drive through window because that would have made my life easier. We had a variety of different foods, I think had the chicken gyro, it was good.
