If I could give this awful place zero stars, I would. The one star I guess is for the food. The food was not bad, but the service was non existent. Very unfriendly staff. All we did was wait. Wait for our drinks, wait for our food, wait for our check. Our drinks were never refilled and my granddaughter’s food was forgotten. My daughter had to flag our waitress down and ask about my granddaughter’s food. Won’t be going back!

We ordered pizza for lunch. It was the worst pizza in my life. Frozen pizza beats it. I don’t know how good or bad any other food is here but the pizza was awful. The beer was good but expensive. Get me out of this tourist trap of a town, please.

We had the Daddy cheese burger, house salad, wings & calamari. All were excellent. The burger was huge, I could only eat ½. The side of waffle fries was huge too. Good service.

This is the first lunch we had in Helen. We were looking for beer and wings. We also heard good things about Monday’s wings. We decided to go here bc of the flavor options. My husband is a wing coneoiour and he likes em hot. We had great service. One order of waffle fries was plenty to split. The hottest wing sauce is good but not too hot. The lemon pepper was also good if you enjoy heavy lemon pepper. The cajunaki wasn’ty favorite. The humus wasn’t anything I cared for either. However I can’t say enough about the wings. We will return!

Didn’t try out the food but the drinks were pretty good and not too badly priced. Got to talk to some friendly locals and the staff was friendly also!

I usually wait until I’ve frequented some place more than once before I write a review, but I was very impressed with my experience here today & this was too long to be a tip! (Plus, we’ll probably go back before we leave town, soooo…)
The food we had for lunch today was absolutely perfect. I had the calamari tacos & was blown away by just how well the calamari itself was cooked! VERY tender, perfectly seasoned, not overwhelmed by a ton of batter – if I was trying to think of where I’d had better calamari before I’d have to rack my brain! The sweet chili sauce on it was also superb. If I could’ve taken home a whole bottle of that sauce I totally would’ve, it was ridiculously good. Tried to give my husband «a bite» of one, & he finished it off, haha!
My husband got Thai chili jumbo wings, & we both agreed that they were the best wings we’d ever had, no contest. The meat was moist, the glaze was excellent & not overpowering – just awesome.
Our 3yo had a cheese quesadilla off of the kids menu, & it was as big as his face! He ate every bite – hard to mess up a cheese quesadilla anyways – but he definitely enjoyed it, & talked about how it was «oh so cheesy!»
Our server was friendly, & very knowledgeable about the menu, portion sizes, level of spiciness on each dish, etc. Our food came out quickly as well!
All in all, no complaints here. We’ll probably return before we leave town!

Big Daddy’s has some good things going for them like house made cheese sauce for the fries and good chili. But, the mussels tasted fishy and NOT fresh even though I was assured they were. If I had been told the truth I would have ordered something else. Now, I’m left with a «bad taste» in my mouth. The surly bartender would not replace a draft beer that was flat. He insisted it was a fresh keg. I have drank enough SW 420 to know what it’s supposed to taste like. When will pubs and restaurants realize that a happy customer is worth more than a couple dollars lost on a beer?

Last try here. Surly hostess, totally empty outside deck but 11 of us, some who wanted to smoke cigars, were denied that pleasure, cigarettes were allowed. We left and went Cowboys and Angles where we were welcomed. This is the last time I ever go there. One other time the music was very loud and when I mentioned it to hosted she said why did I sit outside, because the inside stinks.

My friend and his family got kicked out by owner because some ladies that was just seated didn’t like the smell of his cigar. AFTER he had been there for an hour on the SMOKING deck smoking his cigar! AFTER waiter was fine with it!
The OWNER said he can change the rules anytime her wanted — ban this place

No complaints here. Food was great, came out fast. My husband got the Mac Daddy Burger, it was very tasty just a little undercooked than what he asked but he ate it anyway! I got the chicken daddy dilla the peach BBQ sauce was good. I would go back.

Loved the New Orleans spicy shrimp appetizer! Everything we ordered was great! I had shrimp quesadilla and hubby had a black & bleu burger. Excellent service and super fun atmosphere!

We had the waffle fries w/​cheese, peach BBQ wings, & Porkys phatstak burger & it was all very good!

Group of four couples ordered steaks not one of the steaks came out cooked properly waited 45 minutes for the replacement steak that was still not cooked properly and zero compensation from the establishment. We will not be back

Bartender refused to serve me because I walked in with the last bite of my food from Wendy’s and wanted a beer. So our party of four all left and spent our money elsewhere. Not a very business-​savvy fella they have behind the bar here!

Third time here and it was a charm. We just had starters (late breakfast). Tried the drunken mussels and fried calamari. Both portions were huge!!! The foid arrived very fast and hot! Service very good and fast.

We came here after a delicious meal at the Bodensee Restaurant to get some drinks and appetizers. It was a beautiful night, and we chose to sit outside on the patio. We were seated very quickly.
Our server came to get our drink orders, and he then told us that there was no alcoholic drink menu and all the drinks were written on a blackboard behind the bar. Call me picky, but it just seems weird to have to get up and walk over to the other side of the restaurant to see another part of the menu. Does Staples really charge that much to laminate and print things?
They did have a really good selection of craft beers and an interesting assortment of specialty cocktails, though. My boyfriend had the bartender make the German chocolate cake drink for him, and I just stuck to a Long Island iced tea. Both were really good. I also had the Gouda macaroni and cheese which was alright. Our drinks were $ 16, and the mac and cheese was $ 7.
If I’m ever in Helen again, I will stop by and try the other stuff on their menu. It looked to be mostly American/​Mexican fusion fare.

Good selection of food and drinks. We were not feeling German fare so this place was perfect. Server was very attentive, friendly and helpful.
The appetizers are big enough to be your meal. I had the fried green tomatoes. My husband and mama had the tacos and they were huge and filled with lots of shrimp.
Star deducted because it was really hot inside so we had to sit outside where it was a bit cooler. It was around 80 degrees outside so imagine the heat inside!

Wow! This place has amazing food, service and atmosphere!!! Try the Rocky Top burger! This is one of Helen’s best kept secrets. It’s just a short hop off the main drag! Totally worth it!!!

This place is right around the corner from my hotel. My wife and I were walking around earlier and all of the cars were here for the SoWo weekend and we passed it checking out some of the sites.
I heard «The Thrill is Gone» coming from the patio as I walked by and I was thinking to myself, «Man, there is live music and they are honoring BB King. This place seems pretty cool.»
Well, later last night my wife was hungry again and we were back at the hotel so I suggested we head back over to this place. I had seen the pictures from others and I really wanted to give it a shot.
We walked up and there were still quite a few cars everywhere and we were seated pretty rapidly. That’s pretty much where everything just took a bad turn.
We were seated out on the patio at our request, because that is where everything seemed to be going down. They were out of chairs so they gave us some plastic ones that could have probably broken down with the right movement. The table wouldn’t stay still at all and was driving my wife nuts. We were given a menu, but it was odd to us. When we walked up they had a menu on the wall and there were things on there like beer and mugs and other prices. Not this menu. It didn’t even list drinks. Our waitress showed up (Jackie I believe) and asked us for drinks. We initially ordered water and we both were thinking of getting some beers or something because we walked here. She brought us some waters.
That was the last we heard from out waitress.
I had enough time to peruse the menu several times. They had several items that looked great. I was really torn between trying their calamari, because I love trying calamari from different places and discovering my favorite places to eat it, or trying something else on the menu. I saw a burger served at a table adjacent to us and it looked great. My wife seemed excited about their Philly Cheesesteak, but it had «homemade cheese wiz» on it and that didn’t thrill her too much. I also noticed a lady near me get the fish and chips (I noticed several pictures on Unilocal as well) and it looked very delicious. I didn’t need to eat all of that, but I certainly wanted to try the calamari or the fish and chips.
After a time I started to wonder if we were going to get to place our order. I can’t place a time on that, but it go to the point where i started to wonder, «Hey, is anyone going to come back and let us place an order or inquire about any beers they have here?» I got agitated enough that I started a timer on my phone. My wife didn’t even know I had done it, but she was eventually irritated enough to say she wasn’t hungry now and we could just go back to the hotel. I told her it was up to her. At that point it had been 7 minutes since I started to wonder if we were ever going to get any service and there was still no waitress in site.
We got up and walked out. A hostess did notice at this point and tried to intervene as to what our issue was and I explained it to her briefly, but I didn’t really allow her to make amends. I had had enough of this place already.

Remember that part about the experience being «Ultimately tarnished by poor service and staff communication»? Nothing has changed between 2014 and 2015 at Bigg Daddy’s.
I arrived in Helen on Thursday, the day before most people start arriving for Southern Wörthersee. I must admit, I was hesitant about returning to Bigg Daddy’s again, but I wanted to give them a second shot. I thought, «Since I’m here early, and they are not busy, the service might be better than it was.»
Wrong. Totally wrong.
I sat with my friend Hunter at the bar, and did not meet our waitress or receive menus until 10 minutes later. She took our drink orders, which took another 10 minutes. Mind you, we’re one of maybe 8 people at the bar, and two other bar tenders are working. This should not be a difficult or time-​consuming task under these conditions.
We put in our orders once our drinks finally showed up. Burger and Quesadilla. Nothing fancy. Fast forward 50 minutes later, we still have not received our food. Both of us are anxious, hungry, and slightly irritated from a 13 hour drive and having to wait an incomprehensible amount of time for simple food on a quiet evening. Finally the food arrives, and I’m met with an unfortunate reality – just like last year– fresh ingredients, good presentation, but cold. Everything. Cold burgers suck, regardless of how good the components are.
I want to like this place, but the piss-​poor service and issues with plate delivery will not have me coming back. I gave you a second chance Bigg Daddy’s, but it seems nothing has changed. Will not go back.
