Specialties

Step back in time to the age of soda fountains and great hamburgers. Enter into a wonderful taste of pizza and Stromboli. Delve into a banana split or homemade carrot cake. Slow down and enjoy life with us at Clay’s Café & Catering, a family owned and operated restaurant with over 80 years of history.

In addition to 32 flavors of hand dipped ice cream, we also offer pizza and Stromboli, made from scratch, as well as fresh soups and salads and top-notch grill items with dine in, carry out and local delivery available. Clay’s Café provides off-site catering for all of your special events. From weddings to class reunions, company picnics and surprise birthday parties. We can plan an event for you and up to 350 guests.

At Clay’s, we are a family kind of place. We invite families to come and play a game while they wait for their food, not watch a TV. Share some family time and relax! Start a new family tradition or keep an old one going. Whatever you decide, we’d love to share with you our history or hear more about yours.

History

Established in 1932.

In 1932, Earl and Dorothy Cummins started the business, then known as Cummins Ice Cream. For 47 years, they made homemade ice cream. In its prime years, cars would line up on Route 40 waiting to get in for a delicious treat. In 1979, the Cummins family sold the business to the Clay family. Sherman and Evelyn Clay started introducing pizza and other foods to the menu. In 1997, their youngest daughter, Glenna, and her husband, Mark, took over the business. Over the years, we have established ourselves as a family friendly restaurant. We look forward to having you and your family join us!

Meet the Business Owner

Glenna J.

Business Owner

«My dad used to bring me here when I was a kid.» We often hear this at Clay’s Café. It is then followed with the question, «What did this place used to be called before?» Owner Glenna and her parents have been a part of Clay’s history for many years, but we’d love to hear your stores and memories of Cummins, Country Fair Foods or Clay’s Café! Please share them with us.
