I give HPM 5 stars. They are amazing! Love where I live and where I’m renting from! The surroundings that my boyfriend and I are next to is wonderful especially in this fall season! Very big place for what we are renting and very understanding. Had a couple of repairs and they immedeatly came out and fixed it!!! Thank you HPM! Thank you Pam!

I have been a renter in the same cottage in Healdsburg for 5 years, and it was only when Healdsburg Property Management took over earlier this year that some needed repairs were made. The contractors who actually did the work were excellent, respectful and not intrusive — When a pipe unexpectedly burst on a Saturday night„ I was able to get help from one of them — in the middle of his anniversay dinner!
Pam has been incredibly responsive — more like a good neighbor than a landlord’s rep. Just like a hometown business should be.

Our experience renting a house thru Healdsburg Property Management was fantastic! Pam was always reacchable and willin to help us, not only during the booking process but also giving us recommendations on places to visit.
I highly recommend them as they went the extra mile to make our trip to Napa a great experience!

RUN. This business is SO BADLY MANAGED that it should be investigated for criminal intent. They are outrageously bad at what they do. Either they are unbelievably inept, or they intentionally screw people over.
They are CLUELESS about customer service and property maintenance. There was still methamphetamine paraphernalia from the drug addicts living in my place before me that Healdsburg Property Management didn’t bother to clean up before showing the place. If I was the landlord, they would have been sacked in a minute. The house was infested with mice, and there were scribbled phone numbers and stickers all over the walls. It was so filthy I was literally holding my nose from the mildew. The carpet was filthy and infested with mold. Why did I rent it? Because it was 3 doors down from my family home and one of the ONLY houses right on the river. Location Location!
I invested $ 3,000 in cleaning the place up and fixing it up beautifully. I paid my rent on time every month. Meanwhile, the alcoholic incumbent tenant upstairs was stealing my electricity and harassing me with unbelievable hostility the entire time I was there… literally walking right onto my porch and screaming at me in front of my guests.
After leaving my apartment in IMMACULATE condition (plus thousands invested in cleaning it up), they kept my security deposit and charged me another unexplained $ 550 for NO reason on my bill. When I inquired with Pam about my deposit and the unexplained fee, she replied that she «didn’t have time to deal with me». Then, she had the NERVE to try to add me as a business acquaintance on LinkedIN!
I think that a large part of their income actually is based on retaining security deposits. They are in the WRONG business.
BE WARNED. They really should be closed down. The quantity of negative reviews here are definitely consistent with my experience. I hope no one else has to deal with their toxic business practices. There are much better property managers out there.

Do not rent through this business. I own a home in Healdsburg, it is being shown as a current short term vacation rental of theirs. My home is not a property that they have a listing on. It is also represented as a short term rental which is not allowed in the city of Healdsburg. Pam Taeuffer, the owner is not someone you want to do business with. Enticing someone to rent with them by showing a house they do not have a listing on is dishonest.

Wow. I should have checked out Unilocal BEFORE renting from them. Looks like I’m not the only one that had a bad experience with this rental company. We rented the Wine Country Cottage for 2 nights ($ 350 each night) At first, we were pleased with the place. The location is great… very close to downtown and also right down the street from a ton of wineries. Upon further investigation… we found rat feces??? It was definitely droppings from some live creature… on the floor in a bedroom, in the sheets, on the couch and on the floor in the living room!!! I emailed Pamela and she replied saying she was going to get pest control in there. I followed up asking how she would be handling this for my experience. Pest control will fix any future guests but not me! She then replied asking me what I want from her and she doesn’t understand what I am asking from her. She (nor anyone else from the company) NEVER even attempted an apology!!! I had to call multiple times just to make sure there was an actual reservation.

Stay away!!! Based on the reviews and a previous encounter with them we didn’t want to rent property from them but when a house practically next door became available it was listed with HPM so we had no choice but to deal with Pam again and applied.
After waiting eight business days I called to find out about application and nobody called us back. One week later we received a letter via «snail mail» informing us that we were denied because of «incomplete application» the reason was «none of your references have returned our calls». Not sure why we weren’t called about this to «complete our application». We then called our references only to find out that not one of our previous property management companies were called nor were any of our personal and professional references called!
Our previous encounter was in 2011 when we were relocating here from southern CA. We came up here and found a property that we loved and applied, we were told everything was great with our application and that nobody else was interested in property so «just waiting for owner Pam to sign off».
I received an EMAIL the night before we were moving (one day before we were to occupy property) informing us that they gave property to someone else!!! This virtually left us homeless! We ended up having to spend a week in a hotel, while we went through «application process» with another company causing us to have to board our 2 cats and I lost a weeks pay as I had to delay starting my new job to find a new place to rent. Dealing with this shady business cost me and extra $ 3000 in moving expenses!
STAY AWAY NO MATTER HOW BAD YOU WANT THE PROPERTY!!!

ABSOLUTE NIGHTMARE. Aaron called to tell me that my house rental is being cancelled due to county of Sonoma construction requirements (a poll is being put in at the property). I asked what other properties were available since I have 6 people flying in to celebrate my birthday, and he sent me a contract for a smaller, more run down property without a pool for only $ 100 less. When I asked for an explanation, he snottily said «Look, I don’t know what you want from me. We aren’t even making money off your rental now.» I was completely taken aback and asked for his manager to call me.
I have yet to receive a call from the owner and just called Aaron back to ask for a cancelled contract and receive my $ 700 down payment back so that I can make alternate arrangements. Aaron literally just chewed me out, told me that his manager isn’t around and that she’ll get back to me at some point. When I asked why he had such an attitude problem and was giving me such poor customer service, he continued to yell at me and then went silent, offering no solution.
To Aaron’s manager: please have the decency to call me and refund my money with the proper documentation immediately. I will be calling the Better Business Bureau and contacting the Wine Road association in hopes of black listing your company.

They rented my condo for 4 years to 2 tenants while i was out of town. When I notified them i would be returning and asked for an inspection before i returned the security deposit, they assured me that the property was left in good condition. When i returned and did a walk through with their representative, I noticed the coffee table, television was missing as was the clothes dryer. The furniture was also heavily scratched and chipped. Attempts to contact them failed. My experience with them was terrible overall.

So far nothing but smooth sailing with this company! I found a nice property, they made time to show it to me, they went out of their way to work with my schedule and it has been a great experience. If looking for a short term property or a long term rental, I encourage you to give them a call. You wont be dissatisfied!

Healdsburg Property Management discriminates against young couples.
I would give NO stars if possible.

Do not rent a property from this mgmt company! They don’t honor their contracts, and don’t give back your $ 1,000 deposit, even when you leave the property in better shape than when you found it. It is nothing short of a criminal organization.

Beware of the property called «Wine Country Cottage». It is available on their website. What it doesn’t say is that the house is only a couple yards off of a major road and next to the 101 Freeway. The noise is unbearable when trying to sleep. Maybe if they put some ceiling fans in the bedrooms it would drown out the traffic noise. Also, we have rented properties frequently in the area and out on the Sonoma coast, and my experience is that the kitchen is usually stocked with a few basics such as spices etc. Make sure you bring your own to this one. The only thiings stocked in the kitchen are things left over from previous visitors. It is a nice little house otherwise, but as I said, the location is awful and for the money there are much better properties in the area.

So sorry that you cannot give it zero stars. The office staff is awful. They are rude and unhelpful, on the phone but especially in person. That is if you get the staff that speaks english. If you inquire about any properties they immediately say, «look it up online.» and slam the door in your face.
This would be a great business opportunity for someone responsible, it is very difficult to find rentals in Healdsburg.

No wonder HPM only has 2 stars!
Booking and confirmation all went smoothly, the house was great, and the staff was friendly when we dropped by for the key before check-​in.
But when I give someone $ 450 as a SECURITY DEPOSIT, to me that means it’s a deposit in case something isn’t as they left it or there is damage to the house. It also means they cash it (if that’s their policy) the day of check-​in, NOT a week after check-​out. On top of which, they then hold my money for up to 30 days while I wait for a refund? Bad business practice, HPM.
I will not be renting from you again. Renters beware!

I rented a house for my wife’s 40^th birthday through Lisa at HPM. She was fantastic in her ability to answer my questions and she was responsive to both my emails and VMs… even on the weekends! The house was exactly what was described. When I got there and had a question about how something worked there was an 800# by the phone and someone answered the question immediately. I highly recommend a call to Lisa for your rental needs in the area!

Healdsburg Property Management was a nightmare to work with. My work rented a lovely home from them for a staff retreat, but we had a ridiculous time dealing with their office (i.e. we had to repeatedly make phone calls to get a receipt) and then several of us came home with hot tub folliculitis, a skin infection caused by bacteria in the hot tub. Yikes.
HPM also took way too long to return the deposit which they demanded be cash. Why they couldn’t use a credit card hold is suspicious to me and super unprofessional!
Take your business elsewhere!

Don’t expect to get WOW’ed by these guys. Expect the very least in customer service.
Drove in from San Francisco to stay the weekend at the ‘casa de luna’ house. Having over an hours worth of paperwork, they also require a cash deposit, which was annoying to get all that money from the bank, and not to mention sketchy leaving cash VS on a credit card. We were staying at a house in Santa Rosa and they made us drive an hour North out of our way IN TRAFFIC on a Friday afternoon to get the keys at their office in Healdsburg. No «key box» situation with these folks. We asked them if they could meet us halfway, and they refused. Nice way to start off our so called «vacation».
We entered the house and we expected it to look better than the photos online. It actually looked worse. It resembled something like my great grandmothers house and was completely outdated. The stench as soon as you walked in was so powerful it was musty and the odor was unbearable.
The pool and yard area were pleasant, but noticed tons of feathers and blood all over the deck and in the pool. We examined a bit more and found a dead chicken along with 2 dead rats in the bushes since there were flies everywhere. We cleaned them up, which was horrific since most of us are vegetarians having to deal with this mess.
The sleeping situation was a bit awkward, it stated it slept 8. There was 2 queen beds, and 1 pullout mattress and 2 twin beds. We only had 2 couples with us, so it meant that 2 complete strangers in our group had to share a bed that night. We also searched the house for some sort of linen cabinet and couldn’t find any extra comforters for the pull out. I ended up giving them mine from the queen bed, and froze all night.
One of my friends in the group had the worst experience, she actually found a dead bird in her bed and didn’t discover it until the next morning which meant she slept next to it all night. The bird had no eyeballs which we thought was creepy. Seriously something from a horror movie.
We couldn’t wait to leave. We paid good money to enjoy ourselves and escape city life, when in reality our weekend and my friends birthday surprise was ruined.
We called the Property Management office several times and sent emails to the owner Pamela. No response back and took weeks back to get our deposit.
UPDATE:
After the stay someone in our group contracted a disease from the hot tub. Her Doctor said it was Legionella and Pseudomonas bacteria which is caused from dirty hot tubs.

If I could give this place zero stars, I would. Stayed in a complete shit hole «vacation home» that was more disgusting than something from my worst nightmares. ABSOLUTELY no customer service and be warned, the owner PAM is a horrific business owner and practices illegal behavior. Hopefully she will put out of business soon.
I can’t even go into detail, because what happened to my friends and I makes me so angry!
DON’T BOOK AT THIS DUMP COMPANY!

My boyfriend and I stayed in the Picnic Cottage last weekend and we are happy to report that we had a wonderful time. The view was amazing and the cottage was perfect for two. We loved the décor and the fresh flowers by the bedside. We received quite a few complimentary wine tastings and a free bottle of rose wine made by the property owner.
Miko, the property manager, was such a pleasure to work with. She was very helpful and suggested great restaurants and wineries for us to visit. We will definitely be renting with Miko again!
