Advanced Moving Systems

I hired these guys to help with my mother-in-law’s move and they were FANTASTIC. Arthur and his crew came in a very large truck and got right to work. They were very careful packing up her things and moved fast. I’ve moved quite a few times and have never worked with a more pleasant, hard-​working bunch of guys. I would hire them again in an instant and highly recommend them.

It’s not too good to be true! I had a wonderful experience with these movers. I paid $ 65/​hr for two guys plus $ 85 flat rate for the truck. They moved from my second floor apartment to another THIRD FLOOR apartment in less than two hours! That is unheard of! Especially for only $ 215! (Plus $ 20 tip for each guy)
My only advice would be to send an email confirmation to the customer. It’s nice to know everything is officially set in stone to move. Regardless, I will definitely call these guys again!

If you’re looking for a mover, seriously, just stop right now and call these guys and you’ll see from the start why I’m writing this review with a 5 star tag– from start to finish, they have exceeded my expectations in every aspect. I hope this review will help someone out their find the pleasant surprise and relief that I found with them.
Summary–
1. Their rates were half, HALF, of what the other ‘reputable’ companies quoted me. That alone saved me hundreds of dollars.
2. Though I knew a general time frame, I did not know the exact moving date until after i passed my occupancy inspection– the owner, Archie, scheduled to have me moved the very next day.
3. They said they would arrive between 10 and noon, and arrived promptly at 11 as promised with with a phone call half an hour before they arrived.
4. It happened to be the hottest day of the summer thus far, I had heavy furniture, the apartment I moved from was a 2^nd story south city apartment with steep stairs, narrow angles, and tight spaces that would make anyone cringe just to think of moving anything out of… and you would have never known it otherwise– they never complained, they never stopped, they never lost their smiles or courtesy, not once the whole time.
5. They brought a big enough truck with plenty of room, they got to work immediately and wasted no time during the whole move. The entire move from start to finish lasted 1 – 3 hours less than I had estimated.
6. Everyone I dealt with at any time, from the owner, to the movers (Richard and Otis) were professional, courteous, kind, and went the extra mile. Its the little things like that that mean the most– they shook my hand, introduced themselves by name, never stopped smiling, never made me feel awkward, but most importantly, they were patient, kind and helpful when it came to my neighbors as well, and took special care not to let my kitties out of the downstairs area at the new house. Moves are tough on pets as well! They made sure to close all the doors and move the basement things last, all while keeping a careful eye out for my little guys in the process.
As a young woman who’s fiancé is away and overloaded with the stress, pressure and whirlwind of becoming a first time home owner, I can’t tell you how much i dreaded hiring a mover– my experiences over the years with movers have ranged from disastrous, to mediocre and overpriced service at best, so i began gathering estimates from different companies ahead of time. First I received quotes from well known local companies and was neither impressed by their customer service skills nor their prices. In fact, I began to panic a bit, so I told my bosses about my dilemma and they recommended AMS, who they’d used recently and had a great experience with, and thus came the light at the end of the tunnel. It ended up being the smoothest move I have EVER experienced, hands down, and one of the easier parts of what has been a hectic month. These guys are really and truly a hidden treasure, and I am so grateful and happy I went with them because it saved me so much money, time, and worry, which were all resources I’ve expended endlessly from buying the house and all that comes with it. My next door neighbor was so impressed, she will be using them in the fall for her move, and I will use them again to help move some things for my grandma.
Bottom line– lots of moving companies make big claims about their services and this is the first and only I have come across that even comes close to not only delivering it, but exceeding it. It does not get better than these guys– they take their company and your comfort and peace of mind with the care that people in this line of business should, but seldom do. I’m grateful to have found them.

My wife and I were happy we chose Advanced Moving Systems. They saved us money and were careful about what they were doing. There’s not much more I could ask from a mover so I thought I’d put in a good word for them.
