Have to agree with Chad R review. The place has been around for at least the last 10 years but when Sam took it over he really did an awesome job. Every time I go in there he’s doing something new to make it better or more of an enjoyable experience. I like the fact that you can walk into a business and the owner is there everyday and engaging with the customers and your on a first name basis. It might sound kind of cheesy but that’s what this country is lacking small business owners who are there because they love to provide a service and better others life’s. Food is also always fresh and top notch and staff attentive and friendly.

The place is nice and clean friendly etc. the food is good, it taste fresh and is really good to have a lunch if you are at work. The price is good below 10 $ for a drink sandwish and chips. I recommend this place if you want to try some new deli place.

If you are strapped for time and live/work close to this establishment, it will do the job. Depending on the sandwich maker you get, they can be indifferent to impatient.

I work around the corner. Been eating here for two years now. I believe it is under new management and the prices are higher, portions smaller, two regular girls that used to be there have been replaced by more people, less personal, rushed order takers.

It is hard to find Deli’s that make basic old fashion sandwiches. I am pleased to say this place meets my expectations with plenty of space to eat without crowds. I can find a table for myself and enjoy my lunch and read my newspaper to catch up on current affairs. Costs are reasonable compared to other chain sandwich businesses. Enjoy!

We’re only given 30 minutes for lunch break and I didn’t pack food so I had to make a fast run to get foo. d This deli is 5 minutes away so it was a no brainer. The place was empty and as i got closer to the counter, a lady with a bun(no pun intended) asked me what I wanted. The combination of her size, her enlarged eyes and her frowned face intimidated me so instead of studying their menu above, I immediately ordered a turkey sandwich. Sandwich wasn’t bad, more bread than meat for sure. Despite the rating, if I’m ever starving and forget to pack lunch again, I’ll probably be back. Why you ask? Convenience of(1) distance(2) time. Place is always empty, I can be in & out in 7 minutes. If service was a little bit better, I’d definitely be more inclined to come back even if I wasn’t starving.

I work in the area and love this place too. They have plenty of parking, plenty of seating, beer on tap by the pitcher, and their Reuben by itself deserves 5 stars. Best joint in the area. Chow

Because I work in Hayward, this place is in my rotation of lunch options. That’s if I don’t pack a lunch. Why do I come here? Sometimes out of shear laziness because it’s a 2 minute drive to get here and because they make sandwiches really fast. I don’t waste my lunch hour stuck in a line or waiting at a stop light. They do have a killer sandwich — Turkey Delight on rye. The turkey delight includes: sprouts, onions, tomato, mayo, and turkey. Its a good sandwich and pretty filling. This is probably my favorite sandwich out of the extensive menu they have. But, if I’m feeling carnivorous, I get the reuben. This place has been around for a while. It shockingly weathered the down economy. And for all of us who work in this part of Hayward, it serves us well.

This place was ok. I work nearby and stopped for lunch. The bread was pretty tough, tough enough that I was afraid it was going to ruin my temporary crown on my tooth. The meat selection wasn’t anything I couldn’t have gone to the grocery store and gotten myself. It cost me about $ 8 for a sandwhich, chips and a 21oz drink. Nothing special.

Winton deli has a large dining area and a large parking lot. winton is in the industrial park side of hayward flatscreen: basebell. menu: various types of sammies, combos, salads. sampling: reuben on marble rye(5.45) –semicold, not nuked enough –lots of pastrami, some cheese, pickle slice and jalepeno. –not a lot of taste –combo $ 2 more crumbs: –post lunch, quick, efficient service –draft beer station in middle of dining room, no doubt for game days. –cheap eats, not much else.

They have a large selection of sandwiches that they half ass pull off. Maybe they should just concentrate on a few sandwiches which actually taste good. The guy behind the counter does not enjoy working there and it’s noticeable to the point where I decided to eat my sandwich in my vehicle rather than stay in «deli.» Go to Burger Road, it’s just up the street.

Stopped by here as I was leaving work. Decent prices and sandwiches. Nothing that would remind me to go back for their food except for Unilocal reminding me to review it. Better than buying a gas station cold sandwich.

I love this place… I work in the same business park it is located in and whenever I go there I am back to the ofice with a majority of my lunch time still left over… they make the sandwiches sooo fast, it is great… They also have great memory, they know what I like on my sandwiches what bread and most of the time what kind, whenever I can’t figure out what I want. Its a great lunch time place…

I should’ve asked what came on the sandwiches b/c I don’t like mustard & whoops, my club came w/mayo & mustard… The owner was so kind to make it right & fix it, even though it was my fault to not ask for mustard. That’s above & beyond, if u ask me. I’ve eaten here before and they’re really friendly and the food is pretty good for your run of the mill deli. Their salads are also quite generous, too. It’s super close to my office in Hayward so I think I’ll be visiting this place more often… I’m a fan.

I go to this deli often since I work at one of the neighboring business, like most of the people that eat here. Their staff usually consists of 3 – 4 people that make the sandwiches and 1 person to ring up the orders. The sandwiches usually only take a few minutes to make so by the time you get to the cashier, your sandwich will be ready to take. The deli is kept pretty clean and there are plenty of table to choose from. There are occasionally a few boxes stored in the former bar area and the television is in need of being updated, but the deli is still in good shape.

This is what I consider the far side of Hayward. During lunch time instead of eating like I should have I had to go deliver something to someone on the outskirts of Hayward. Once my emergency delivery was complete I left the«looking up of food choices» up to the Ol’ GPS System. The first thing to pop up was the Winton Deli, and I said F-it, lets go. Its located in a business park of box type warehouse businesses. Not where you would exactly expect a deli to be located. Walking in the first thing I noticed was how exceptionally clean it was in there. I could have eaten off the floor and had less germs in me than I did before. That’s how clean it is in here. Two guys were working behind the counter and one was mopping an already spotless floor. I walked up and read the menu while the guys just stared at me. I settled on The Reuben, only to find they were out of Rye Bread. I had them make it on a soft roll instead. They make the sandwich right there but kind of under a counter so you cant see exactly what their doing. It took a minute for it to be done. I got it to go and it was wrapped on one of those Styrofoam trays that meat comes on in the super market. It was nice and warm like a Reuben should be. When I got to my car and started devouring it I noticed it wasn’t exactly what I look for in a Reuben but it was hitting the spot. There was a weird sauce on it that I cant explain. If I was stuck out in the nowheresville of Hayward again I would definitely come back and try one of the their other sandwich options.
