We have a unique dental office designed and built just for kids! When visiting our office, the design is only the beginning of your child’s enjoyable dental experience. We know children may feel uneasy about a dental visit, so we take extra time to explain each procedure and to calm any fears. Our doctors are trained to treat patients who are very young, nervous, or can not tolerate dental work done in the typical dental setting.

We truly enjoy working with children! The happiest moments we share are seeing our young patient’s smile, hearing them laugh, or receiving their hugs.

Our entire staff operates as a team and we are very proud of everyone’s special training and skills in dealing with children. Above all, we practice the finest up-​to-​date dental care under the most sterile conditions, because that’s what you expect as patients. We look forward to your child’s first dental visit!

History

Established in 1980.

Our practice was founded by Dr. Rolf Spamer, who dedicated his career to serving the dental needs of the children of Hayward, CA. Dr. Ha Thai and Dr. Chao-​Wen Wang continue to carry on his philosophy — To create a positive dental experience. We believe that all our patients should be treated just like we would treat our own children.

I love Dra Wang. She’s very good with kids, makes them relaxed. I love her sense of humor (floss camps). Both my kids go to her, and always comes out satisfied, and happy. The only issue is the distance to her practice. We’ve moved from Hayward and is now a drive to go there. However I will highly recommend her to anyone needing a pediatric dentistry.

***Parents, you should consider another dentistry other than this one. And if you already have gone here, please get a second opinion. Save your time and money. ***
Was sent here to get my sons’ cavities fixed. First appointment, did an xray and that’s it. They said they needed to get insurance approval to move forward. 3 weeks later they call, setup another appointment, went to appointment and they told us that my son needs to go under anesthesia to fix his cavities and that it will be $ 700 cash only and was stern that no insurance will cover it. That was a red flag for us.
So after leaving this office, I call my dentist office (don’t know why we didn’t bring him in the first place) and told them the situation and they said that no child needs to go under «mandatory» anesthesia and some insurances do cover the anesthesia and dentists should never say «cash only». Fortunately, my dentist had an opening and told us to bring my son in. We brought him in, got his tooth extracted (cavities will be filled later) with no anesthesia, just numbing, and my son was fine. I don’t understand what made it so difficult for this dental office to do this.
So after reading the reviews here it just justified that we will not be going here again.

Never ever go to this place, the dentist keep comparing my son to her daughter because my son was holding a bag of fruit snack and continually lecturing me for giving him sugar. She then told me that she found 7 cavities and told the receptionist (who has an attitude) to ask me for $ 700 for the IV to put my son to sleep so that they can get the work done.
I paid 50% deposit to keep the appt but decided to get second opinion. I then went to two different specialists and they only found one cavity instead of 7. So I called them to request my money back. It took them almost two months to send my money back and kept 5% for cancelation fee.
I encourage all parents not to go here. I’m a mom of two and wanted the best for your child too.

Still think she is no good and now I’m convinced she must have a scam going on for people using Kaiser dental insurance or limited insurance. Everyone I know who has gone there has had their kids mouth full of silver teeth and more cavities than anyone should have — More than 5 families. The more crowns and cavities the more she is paid. I am looking for a way to report her to the Dental Board.
Please look for a second opinion if you can. Your child probably does not have all those cavities.

Dr. Wang is a thug and a thief. My son needs extensive dental work. His father took him to his first appt they started with one extraction and he did very well with the help of the laughing gas. My son has double coverage thru my employer and his fathers. On his second visit I took him. She insisted I put my son to sleep for a cost of $ 900 (not covered by any insurance) vs the laughing gas which is by far safer. I addressed my concerns with safety and she REFUSED to treat my son if I did not agree to putting him completely to sleep. Needless to say she must receive a healthy cut of the 900.00 and I will find an HONEST more ethical dentist.

We had an appointment schedule for my special needs kid, when we went the day before to discuss the procedures that will be done on my son, they were so arrogant and acted as if they have more rights and concern about my kid that us. They gave an estimate and when we said we don’t want to do all the procedures (on baby tooth) they bluntly said, they cannot agree with us and even asked us to go and find another dentist. This was the worst experience that a parent can have. We were gald we walked out else they would have charged us an arm and a leg for all the procedures that they think is necessary.

I so love this place. I have been taking the rug rats here since they were able to grow teeth and the service has always been great !!! I totally recommend you to take your kids here. Jessica is at the front counter and greets you with that warm feeling any patient wants to be greeted with. How ever I’m not a patient :-(

Nice office with a couple TV’s and a play area for younger kids. Biggest issue is that they seem to book alot of appointments at the same time which had made for some miserable moments. I understand it’s a childrens dental office but when you have 10 kids running around at the same time it definitely tries your patience.
As far as the staff, dentists are good at their job and are good at explaining about work they are going to do or had already done and they seem to be gentle with the kids. As far as front office, I’ve dealt with 2 different people. One of the girls is pleasant but the other one could definitely use some personality training. When kids come to an office I would expect that they would rather get a warm greeting from a smiling face to make the process easier.
