I had to change my rating because they could not fix my clutch correctly. After taking it in for the third time, the clutch still chatters from stop to go and reverse and it’s been well over 500 miles as they had suggested that’s the break in time. I’ve gotten a lot of opinions after each time they blame something else for the problem.

Moved to East Bay a few years ago and have been having issues with the local shops. Still the hunt had to go on.
Needed a new clutch for 06 RSX Type S and do not do my own clutches. Came across MT on Unilocal and stopped by their shop unannounced. Staff greeted and was welcoming. The shop appeared clean and spoke with Ken, or Kin. I’m bad with names. After talking with him for 2 – 3 minutes he clearly knew more than I did about cars, and parts. Been working on Hondas since 1994 and this was very refreshing since I rarely have this type of experience at most, if not all, shops.
We talked clutches and went with his suggestion. Setup a time for install and put down a deposit. Came back 2 days later to drop off the car for clutch install. When I left I had zero concern which is rare especially with recent experiences I’ve had with shops in East Bay. Communication was good and kept me in the loop when needed. Had an alignment done while it was there too.
When I got the car home I inspected their work since they had to remove sub-​frame and transmission to replace clutch. Last clutch job I had done on an Integra went horribly elsewhere. Everything was clean and put back correctly. I was very happy with outcome and happy I went with his clutch suggestion. Pedal is a lot lighter even though there is a lot more grab. I will be back!

I needed tires and alignment ASAP, Kin was able to order tires, install & align same day. Super helpful. This is one of the few shops that knows their customers.

It is my second time at this location.
The first time was to install my axle on the car. They told me the cost (which was very reasonable) and it would be finished the same day. Music to my ears right? After everything was finished they told us how bad out axle was and it was a good thing we got that repaired.
Second time coming here, was for the alternator. Oh boy, that gave me so much trouble. Thank you again for working on the car and finishing it the same day… AGAIN!
Did I mention my car is lowered too?

Hey all, this is the first time I am actually motivated to write a negative review.
I came here on the weekend to get a wheel alignment for $ 85 on my subaru legacy. After a few hours I came back and the mechanic told me they could only align the front two wheels. It seemed that this was because the bolts on my back wheels were rusted shut. I asked the mechanic if I can pay half since only half the job was done, but he refused so I ended up paying $ 85 for an incomplete job.
I would be very careful if you choose to go here; it feels like i was ripped off. Perhaps it was partially my fault because my lack of car repair know-​how, however in my experience, the customer service was extremely bad.

Kin knows his business and doesn’t waste your time. He is very professional and gets to the point, he understood what I was trying to explain in just seconds. I recommend that you get an appointment with him since the shop is always busy. I had an alignment done to both cars each about 30 minutes. BTW, each type of car is different, prices will vary.

Always come here for my alignments! They last longer then when I went to other shops. Plus they got my low car on the ramp without any problems. Recommend them!

I had an excellent experience in Motorsport Techniques. Kin and technicians are professional. They are able to reach my custom alignment specs! I do recommend this shop to everyone who are looking for a professional alignment.

Got ST Coilovers installed on my 2009 Audi A3 last week. After calling a few shops I went with Motorsport because they offered the best price and they have tons of good reviews on Unilocal.I was very happy with level of service and workmanship. They kept checking with me on level of drop before finalizing and doing wheel alignment. Car drove great leaving the shop and no complaints so far. Very happy I went with Motorsport.

came in on a monday afternoon around 1pm with no appointment since i live down the street. i was told that they can’t work on my car till 3pm. I told em ok just sign me up for an alignment at 3pm. i went home and came back a little before 3pm and they were ready to work on my car. it took more or less 30minutes and i was informed that my car is ready. The tech showed me the numbers and gave recommendations. I’m very satisfied with the fast service and i’ll remember next time to get an appointment as they look to be very busy.

I’ve been coming here for the past 7 plus years. Thanks to ken and everyone else at Motorsport for always doing a great job and being honest. There’s many shops out there that try to rip you off regardless of what actually needs to be fixed and what doesnt. This shop is NOT one of them!!! You pay for what you get honestly. I always recommend anyone who asks me where I get my car parts from or where I go for routine maintenance and I always send them here. This is the real deal. Need New rims, suspension, seats, turbo/​supercharger COME HERE!!! They will NOT disappoint you in anyway!!! Motorsport Technique will always be my first and only choice for any car needs. Hope this review helps for those of you looking for a great shop to come too.

After reading all the great fantastic reviews on Unilocal and seeing all the super nice rice rockets and cars that are always parked outside the shop, I figured why not give this place a try. I Came here to have the tires that I ordered from TireRack installed and alignment. Work was completed in about an hour. The guy behind the counter took his time and went over all the specifics on the adjustment on my alignment.
On a separate occasion, I brought my car in to have my AC replaced. The job took 2 days since one of the parts had to be special ordered, which I didn’t mind at all. Kin was on top of the communication to let me know what was going on with my repair. A day after the AC install, I noticed the air wasn’t blowing any cold air, so I gave Kin a call and brought the car back for a checkup. Almost 6 hours later I received a call to let me know that my car was ready for pick up. Kin was very apologetic and went over the specifics on what work was performed; one of the sealant went bust.
Normally I would have been peeved on having to bring back my car for something that was just repaired/​installed, but Kin and his crews as other Unilocalers have noted are honest, informative and professional, unlike so many other car repair shops out there, where you feel like you need to take a hot shower right after talking to some of these guys to wash off the filth that you feel. Sure the repair took longer than anticipated, but overall, I value honesty over being hassled to with overpriced repair work.
So glad I found this place, will definitely return to this place for all of my car repair needs.

This place is small and honestly was hard to find the first time. I’d say it’s hidden in plain sight. The lowered cars in the front gave it away.
These guys are about as honest as they come and didn’t hesitate to text about updates on my car and walk me through everything they did in the end. The communication I got through them made me feel good about having chose this place to get the work done.
On a side note, two of the times I was in the shop I started talking to the other guys waiting for their cars to finish up. Both guys said the same thing, they wouldn’t go anywhere else to get work done on their cars. One guy comes from Pittsburg and the other was from Serramonte. The fact that both those guys were from further away than me and had nothing but good things to say about the people and the shop in general was a great sign!
Bottom line, don’t hesitate to set up an appointment with them. You will be happy with the service, I know I am.

Great guys, really knowledgeable especially on suspension work. Quick alignments, really informative, and solid work all around. Highly recommend these guys!

Kin, Ron and their team at Motorsport Techniques have worked on my 1998 Accord for the past 10 – 12 years and have done an awesome job. Now I have a 2015 Accord Sedan Touring and they just installed Eibach Pro kit lowering springs, 19″ wheels /​tires and alignment. These guys are AWESOME, HONEST & PROFESSIONAL and I highly recommend them for all your automotive repairs and upgrades.

Most people know Motorsports Techniques from being around for a while and their quality work on imports, but they also work on American cars. I recently had my Chevy Silverado SS lowered by Motorsport Techniques and they did a great job. Of course they are not the cheapest, but you get what you pay for. Ken is extremely helpful and provided me with great customer service. I would recomend this place and would go back for any further needs.

I had called in a couple of days before making an appt for a quote to get my coilovers installed and to get an alignment done.
I wont say names but I was originally quoted a price at another location and when I called back to make an appt and confirm cost, it suddenly jumped to a few hundreds. (forget you!)
Back to MT. I bought my car in for the work to be done. Kin greeted us and quickly did the paper work for the car to get worked on. The car was then taken in and they quickly started on it. I’m not sure how long it usually take to finish this type of work but though I waited for quite some time for the car to finish up. Kin occasionally came in the waiting area and asked if we needed anything. I was worried that they wouldn’t be able to get the alignment done due to time, but they stayed after business hours to finish up the car. Overall my experience here was today was great. I left a happy customer!

Came in for an alignment and 4 new tires. These guys are honest, have integrity and get the job done fast. The price is right too.

I needed to get a 40k service (which included replacing the transmission fluid) on my VW GTI, and I needed to find a place that was open on Saturdays, as I couldn’t take time off during the week. After looking through Unilocal,I found this place and am very glad I did.
One thing that I really appreciated was that they weren’t pushy or salesy in any sort of way — they didn’t pressure me into getting anything I didn’t ask for or want. They did a really good job of servicing my car, and I will definitely recommend them to others and will definitely come back for future services and car needs.
