Kmart

The employees are always kind and helpful when I go but I’m not giving it 2 stars because of the service. I’m giving it 2 stars because it feels like whenever I go there, I might get murdered in the parking lot. The outside and the inside of the store is just awful and disgusting. This isn’t the fault of the staff. The building looks old, the floors are warn and cracked and it smells like like a butt. Whatever you do, don’t use the restroom. Hold it in and go home. Just trust me.
The parking lot looks like it’s a dump for trash and I’m not being a stuck up nelly either. I once walked by a bag of used hypodermic needles next to my parking spot. I feel bad for whoever has to work there. Kmart could care less about the employees safety, the conditions in which their store is in and the overall appearance/​smell. I imagine if I were to go to hell, that Kmart’s parking lot would be the entrance to it.

Just left Kmart to pick up an online order that was delivered to the store. I have to admit that I’m kinda embarrassed and feeling really bad because I gave the guy the pickup name (my name) instead of the name of the person on the actual order. These awesome guys went all over, back and forth looking for the order. They really went above and beyond. After I realized my mistake, I told the guy and he was so nice about it.

Every time I go in this place it reminds me why I dont shop here. ALWAYS a problem in this place. Customer service SUCKS! Employees are angry and hostile. Called to talk to manager and the phone was answered: «Hello». Me: is this KMart? what type of business does this? I was put on hold for the manager for over 5 minutes. I hung up. All I can say is that it will be a very short time before this place closes for good. I thought when SEARS took over that it would be better but I guess I was wrong.

This place is crazy every time I come in here I end up waiting in line longer then it took me to pick up the things that I need… Smdh

I used to work here, and all I can say is, many customers look at us one sided. There’s the employees point of view and the customer point off view.
People complain that there’s not enough staff. HELLO, front door says, Now Hiring.
They also complain that lines are too slow. It’s not the cashier’s fault 80% of the time. The software for the register is from the early 90’s and crashes all the time.
They complain that there are a lot of people at the customer service desk working but always send people back to the long lines. First of all, not everyone behind the counter is a cashier. Second, the registers there operate differently from the ones that people need to go to, they are actually slower. Third, it’s company’s policy and it’s enforced by a tyrannical boss who just hides because they’re tired of their job and dealing with rude customers who treat employees as if they’re not regular people.
I cannot argue with the online orders and how dirty the store is, there’s no excuse other than they are understaffed. Even when they were staffed with a decent team a few years back, the store was too cheap to utilize them all.
Stay away from layaway, if it’s busy by the front registers just look for someone in jewelry or electronics and pay with card, otherwise you’re gonna have to wait in line for a year if you pay with cash or check

The store was not that crowded when I first arrived. Im in line after finding a few things. This cashier is slower than I dont know what. She is not even trying to get her line moving. This is crazy. This ia her second job. She just mentioned that she is on break for two weeks from the school. Ive been in this line seems like for ever. Help me!!! Nobody else in line but ME…

I haven’t been to a Kmart since the one in the Dro closed down. I rolled my Whip to Hayward and Kmart. I parked in their huge lot and rolled in .
Oh my god this Kmart is Ghetto. I walk past the Women Wear section and this lady is trying on Bras over her regular clothes and yelling at her kids lol.
Stuff is pretty disorganized and a lot of the Stuff looks pretty picked over. A lot of the Clothes is on Clearance and look out of style .
What a Shame. At one time Kmart was the place to be. It now looks like a Dying Chain Store dying a slow death.

How does this kmart stay in bus. Of all the kmarts this one is the looser of the group… the location the store the worst
Please do us a big favor and close your doors a bad memory of what used to be a thriving plus for the community now it is as alower quality products for a community that should have better.

Store is old, floors are worn, parking lot has potholes and it’s a Kmart… a store I used to avoid. However, they have great deals on all kinds of things. I buy their jeans. Good quality and inexpensive. I also buy a lot of kids clothes here. Always good sales in kids dept. They carry most of the same brands that Sears carries. They often have decent deals on household products, toiletries, toys and small appliances. Last year I bought a ton of Christmas decorations here. Their selection was awesome. Not too many sales associates working the floor, but the ones I have seen are friendly and helpful. Most of the cashiers are also friendly. Overall experience can be depressing at times as most of the customers at this store are Walmart-​esque. However, store is nowhere as crowded as a Walmart, you don’t have to park miles away and there’s no McDonalds or rancid snack bar inside the store smelling up the air. I have a low bar I guess

I like how this store is usually not busy. I like being able to shop without rubbing elbows in a crowd.
But can they please pick up the pace at the checkout? It feels like I am in quicksand every time I get in line. A simple errand like… buying socks… Or laundry detergent… Or something. That would take 30 minutes somewhere else. Suddenly takes an hour?

Kmart… it used to be one of my favorite places growing up, but it has changed so much.
I ordered a costume for pickup. On the day of the pickup, I get an email saying that I canceled the order which I did not…
Even though they canceled my order, my friend and I still went to check out their Halloween stuff. We were trying to find an associate to ask where the seasonal section was. BUT THERE WAS NO ONE! The store was so empty!
My friend actually found something she wanted to buy. When we were at checkout, it took FOREVER. The cashier was really slowwwww
I would not be shopping at Kmart again.

There layaway sucks, last year they could not find my layaway so even though they gave me money back I could not find the items I had selected at the prices they were at. So I thought I would try it again, they say I can pay at any register but of they couldn’t find my name, so I had to back to layaway and wait in line, so the cashier takes my $$, but doesn’t give me any change when I ask for my change she had applied all my $$ not the what was required they usually ask, and told to go back to customer for my $$, let’s just say it didn’t work out in my favor. If I could give a negative 7 rating I would.

Checkout shouldn’t take long. The person in front of me was already done yet it still took longer than expected.
They got some good stuff but I just don’t like the layout.

I usually don’t rate negatively but this place is the worst I’ve been here multiple times and it’s worse every time. One day I stood in line for 30 plus minutes to checkout another I asked for help and stood waiting for way more then necessary I won’t come back that’s for sure never again

Average 10 minutes per customer. Broken register & the lady doesn’t tell customers in line but turns off the register light. Whenever I am here it’s the worst check out process. Only 1 star for a great employee asking if I needed help in the outdoor furniture area. Big store and sometimes really good prices, but I don’t want to come back again.

Kmart didn’t seen to carry any generic aspiriin. mostly bayers. their brand not so cheap either or small packaging at higher pricing.
nothing else looked appealing here.

Some great deals on all kinds of things. It doesn’t take long, however, to figure out how they are able to charge such low prices: they woefully understaff and underperform. I found a great deal on a shelving unit — less than half price! However, I had an appointment shortly after, and seven people were in line for the single open cashier, a teenager who was attacking his task with less enthusiasm than he probably attacks his algebra homework, while at least seven or eight other employees chatted and milled about. I had to run, so I parked my cart in a random aisle and bailed.
Two hours later, I returned. My cart was in the exact same spot where I left it in an aisle with some curtains and such, unmolested. I slalomed around all kinds of items that had fallen off of shelves and not been picked up, waited in the same disinterested teenager’s line. I paid for the shelving unit after fifteen minutes in line, pushed the cart around cigarette butts and dirty diapers in the parking lot, and got the heck out.
Moral of the story: only come here if you have more time than money, and lots of hand sanitizer. Two stars for the great prices, zero for everything else.

I haven’t been to Kmart since 1987′ and that was when I was rolling in a stroller. Since the rise of Walmart and Target, Kmart has been regarded as the red headed step child of department stores. It’s neglected and it shows. Recently, I came across a coupon for a free accessory from the Nicki Minaj collection at Kmart. I was in the area and thought to myself why not pick up something free. As I rolled up to the parking lot of Kmart, I saw some really sketchy people hanging out. The building itself looked like it hadn’t been remodeled since it opened back in the 70’s. Upon entrance, it was pretty much a ghost town. Not too many shoppers and the whole layout is just a mess. I came across a friendly sales associate and was helped out accordingly.
Overall, I would probably not come back here ever again. It’s an unsafe area and if I was here late at night, I’d probably piss in my pants. It’s time Kmart close its shops and surrender to Walmart. Just sayin.

I haven’t been to a Kmart in such a long time ever since they closed the one closest to me in Newark.
Happen to drive by this Kmart, and we saw that they have a garden center and decided to stop on by. This Kmart is extremely old looking, they haven’t remolded the building in ages it seems. It’s like a long wall with only 1 entrance/​exit on the side.
We were greeted upon entry by one of the workers guarding the door and checking receipts. They had plenty of shopping carts and ads available which is always a plus. There weren’t that many shoppers here at Kmart.
The Garden Center was certainly lacking in plants. But I mean, who can blame them, it’s Kmart and well lacking in business. Some of the plants here seemed a little dead but that could be because of the drought we are encountering these days…
Overall the trip was alright. Didn’t end up purchasing anything.

Nope, San Jose doesn’t own a Kmart but Hayward does! I’ve honestly never been to Kmart till’ today and since it’s literally down the street from my school I decided to stop in for a little early bday shopping for my niece and some beauty items.
Honestly, this place is a time machine … upon entering it feels as if you’re in the 90s again like a fellow Unilocaler has said. It’s outdated, massive and has every kind of department you can think of. It’s a superstore.
I managed to find a cute dress and some beauty items which were on sale and priced a bit cheaper than I could’ve found at any store in San Jose. The store isn’t particularly busy nor is it totally organized, but with it’s limited workers and gigantic floor plan it’s actually pretty decent. I saw clothing lines from Selena Gomez, Sofia Vergara and Nicki Minaj which was interesting. I didn’t get to check out any of their groceries or electronics since none of those departments are what I came here for, so I made way to the cashier.
No waiting in line. Cashier was nice enough to ask if I had a Kmart/​Sears card, which I did and ended up having rewards on there that I could use. My total for everything was $ 21 (including St. Judes donation) and ended up paying only $ 13 with coupons as well. What a steal. PS. It’s nice to see sales tax is only 9%
I’ll be coming here for more of my makeup items and probably for home décor type stuff as there seems to be pretty good sales here.
