Jack James Tow Service

Very poor service I am from a city agency and I was trying to pay our bill and pick up the vehicle and they were very unprofessional and if I had a personal car to tow it wouldn’t be them. Do your self a favor and find a different company. PKS or Atlas towing would be a better option.

I was in a rough spot last December and Jack James Towing was a big help. My fuel tank got a puncture and the starter failed at the same time. The first driver came quickly but understandably could not safely tow a car leaking fuel. They worked with me to send another driver later after the tank drained and pick up my van as well as allowing me to not be present. They also arranged for parking my van at no charge in their lot overnight to avoid an unsafe neighborehood and terrible traffic delays which would cost more. In addition, they delivered my van to my mechanic the next day again without me needing to be there. I hated paying for the 25 mile tow, but given the situaiton, it ended up as good as it could have. The only think I would like is more detail on the receipt like TOTAL FEE = Tow Fee + Per Mile Charge. I assume it was the going rate. Thanks Jack James Towing for going the ‘extra mile’.

I have had the unfortunate need to call these guys twice in the same week. Both times they towed my car out of harm’s way (the first time out of the middle of a busy intersection) with speed and efficiency. Tony and the other driver were both professional and courteous. I can’t recommend Jack James Towing enough. In fact, they were recommended to me after first calling (via google) one of their competitors who told me that if I wanted it done fast to call Jack James. And its too bad some knuckleheads are giving Jack James zero-​star reviews because the Police towed their cars – don’t shoot the messenger!

I found out about this towing company from my local Firestone shop. The Firestone store manager Victor recommended me to use them.
I needed to be towed from Cupertino to Firestone in Hayward by Southland mall. Called them up, they gave me a flat quote over the phone and the driver Joseph arrived with in a 30 min.
Joseph was very professional and helpful with all the questions that I had.
In general my experience was 100% positive with 0% surprises.
Definitely will use them again

Your drivers (Lic. Plate:7M34830, I got pictures of your driver in the street) just went to a narrow street that does not permit 7 tons or more of weight (Hampton Rd.). The truck was tall and it keep hitting the trees. My car got hit by fruits and branches. TERRIBLE DRIVING! Passed a school bus without stopping at all. Don’t you teach your drivers the places they CAN NOT GO WITH BIG TRUCKS???

I actually just left this establishment and couldn’t wait to get out of there.
I got the release form from Hayward Police Department yesterday (7-​10-​2014) to get my nephews car out the impound lot. I already knew that the Police station closed at 8 PM so I wanted to make sure the tow place would also be open around that time as well, so I called the number (5 105 811 950) at around 1:30 PM to see what time they closed for the day.
There was NO ANSWER so I did what any person with «Common Sense» would do and Google searched the towing company. The establishment is listed on the Internet as being open «24 Hours,» so I felt that I could get the car out as soon as I got the release form. Wrong!
After I received the release form and drove to Jack Ass Towing, I realized it was CLOSED! To make a long story short… I go back today, (of course the car has accumulated another 60 dollars of storage bullshit), and the Clown who assisted us didn’t want to hear what I had to say. In fact, she even closed the little window on me because she felt offended by my rude remarks.
I explained to the Manager that it is VERY MISLEADING to falsely advertise online their establishment being open 24 hours a day, when in fact, it closes at 5PM. He told me they have to say 24 hours because if someone needs a tow at 3 in the morning, and they look online and see that Jack James closed at 5PM, that person will assume they are closed. Hmmmm…
Here’s the thing. You should list The OFFICE HOURS separate from your TOWING hours. That way it won’t mislead people to believe they can get their car out at ANY given time 24 hours a day. Also, it might be a better idea to have the towed vehicle parked at the actual establishment, rather than sending me 3 miles to a junk yard to pick up the vehicle. Smh!
Bottom line is this place SUCKS! If you’re looking for a reliable towing company, LOOK ELSEWHERE!

We had one of our Biz trucks break down on the side of the 680 Freeway earlier today.
It was loaded with materials which added a serious amount of weight to our standard full size truck. The dispatcher assured me there would be no problem.
Their tow truck arrived within 10 minutes of me driving over to pick up my driver.
Shortly thereafter my truck was delivered back to my warehouse in Dublin.
I will recommend this company!!!

After not getting anywhere with a couple of other tow companies (here in Lafayette & Concord) that were too small or too afraid to tow our 30′ trailer last week, and one other (Bay Point Tow) that wanted photos first (which I sent) and had to come see the job first — I couldn’t believe the service I got from Jack James Tow today. They were on it!
I needed them to tow a30 foot 1949 Spartan Royal Mansion trailer that had been sitting since about the 50’s…most were afraid to tackle this project, but not JJT.
Called Jack James Tow at 1:15pm and they were here in less than an hour (note: I’m a 30+ minute drive from Hayward). Now that’s service!
At 1:15pm today, Allen took my call (very professional and very attentive). I quickly shared about needing a 30′ trailer towed from our property in Lafayette and heard from another company that Jack James has the heavy duty truck I need. «When would you like it towed?» Allen asked. «Today please, I took the day off.» Quickly then, Allen asked some important questions, about tires and access etc. In giving him the address he quickly google mapped it (which I thought that was smart) to give him an idea on what they were in for. Told him that I had taken photos of the trailer to show entry and exit from the property and driveway grade. He rattled off his cell and so I text the photos from my phone immediately. He said he’d send Brian.
Brian arrived right on time and quickly found a safe place to park, BEFORE coming down the driveway to scope it out (smart again). Brain was very nice and asked to see the trailer. He checked the front tow area, the tires and if any hoses were connected and confirmed that nothing was going to hold it back. He jacked the trailer up to remove the blocks after adding air to the tires. He made it look so easy. Mind you, this thing was covered in tree debris and dirt and just a mess.
Brian was amazing! Have you ever tried to back up your vehicle while towing something?! It’s not easy — it does take some skill. Brain backed up my 30′ trailer behind his medium size wrecker with such ease. I was so impressed!
What I enjoyed most about Allen & Brian was their «can-​do» attitude! Not once did Brian ever make me feel as though it couldn’t be done; I felt in good, competent hands. Especially as a woman, handling this on my own they could have TRIED to over-​charge me, but didn’t. I paid, what I was quoted.
When Allen & I initially spoke on the phone, I asked, «what if your guy gets out here and can’t tow it, what’s the back-​up plan»…he assured me not to worry, that they would do it! They would find a way. That was exactly what I wanted to hear
Absolutely no hesitation to call these guys again. I’ll need to move this trailer a time or two (until it finds it’s new home) and they will be my go-​to-​guys and they should be YOURS too!

I was rude to the man on the phone since I was stressed about my car breaking down but he was calm and still very nice with me. He looked up a shop to tow my car to and everything.
Then the man who actually towed my car, was very nice and helpful as well. Hope I never need a tow again, but if I do, I hope they are close by to call again. Price was good too!

We locked the keys in the car (uggg), so we called Jack James Towing and I figured its going to take an hours plus (this was during rush hour) but within 5 minutes Bobby T showed up.
He was careful, quick, funny and best of all he got us into the car.

Bobby T., he’s the «MAN». He did it again! Got me and my vehicle to our destination safely. Bobby T. is the king of customer service.

Unfortunately … Had to get a super late night tow because keys were lost… Thank goodness Dale came to the rescue and made the bad situation easier to cope with.

I wish I could give these jerks 0 stars. Was in an accident back in August, totaled my car, and the officer sent the car to Jack James. My insurance company said they wanted to pick up my car and take it to their evaluation facility, but I needed to call Jack James and release it to my insurance. Not a problem, called that very day, got some super apathetic lady on the phone who said «Ok.».
Fast forward to next week when I think everything’s hunky dory, I get another call from my insurance company. They say they haven’t picked up my car yet because Jack James says I haven’t released it to my insurance. WTF? So I call Jack James again and tell them I told them to release it last week, but my insurance is telling me I haven’t. The dude says, «Okay well I didn’t see any note on your account but it’s on there now.» I say, «Yeah that’s what the last one said too. How do I know I’m not gonna have to do this again in a week?» The guy sputtered and didn’t really have a response. Fine. Whatever. At this point, Jack James is kind of a pain in the butt, but it’s not the end of the world.
Fast forward to a week after that, I’ve gotten no calls or bills or anything from Jack James, until I open up my mail and find that Jack James is gonna place a lien on my car for unpaid storage fees. Unpaid storage fees that nobody told me anything about. So I wrote a check and sent it in along with a note that said «Next time send me a bill first before threatening me with a ***ing lien.» The guy called me a few days later to ask what the check was for. I told him for «the lien you sent me.» The guy gave me attitude, then asked what I wanted him to do with the check because my insurance company was finally able to pick up the car and paid the fees then. I told him to send the check back to me. He promised he would. Never got that check back. Thank god for stop payment, because there’s no doubt in my mind these unscrupulous jerks tried to cash it instead of sending it back. **** you, Jack James. I’m telling everyone I can not to use you.

They like to park their vehicles where they shouldn’t and should know better. Don’t use them!

My car was towed a couple months ago, and I wasn’t able to pay the fees to have it released. About a week after my car was towed, I went to the Fremont branch to collect a few things (most of my belongings were inside, as I was in the middle of moving when it was towed, and I didn’t have a permanent place to store my belongings). The woman who helped me was a little impatient and rude, but I just chalked it up to the fact that I had gotten there shortly before they closed.
Yesterday, I went to pick up a few more things, and was informed that my car had been taken to the junk yard. Apparently I had 30 days to claim my vehicle/​belongings. NO ONE informed me of that, whatsoever — all they did was copy my driver’s license.
(My car was towed on 2/​6, I went to Jack James about a week later, and my car was taken by Fremont PD on 2/​29, despite having a ³⁄₁₂ junk date — less than 30 days).
I lost hundreds of dollars worth of clothes and other personal items — worst of all, I lost more than 10 years worth of photos, letters and other things of sentimental value that are irreplaceable.
While I acknowledge my own neglect in this matter, I absolutely think I should have been made aware that I had limited time to retrieve my things.

I didn’t even use this towing company but I still have to write this review.
I called Jack James Towing on a Sunday morning around 9:30 AM. The man answered and I stated I needed to book a tow for this morning, with explanation for the tow and my location.
Instead of asking any questions, he said «$ 125». That was it. Money is all he sounded like he cared about in order to leave his couch on a Sunday morning. Sorry Dude, towing customers need help at all hours of the day and all days of the week. That’s what you’re in business for, right?
I said ‘ok’ and hung up, then called back about 2 minutes later to cancel. I thought for sure I could find someone else who gave a damn and didn’t charge me THAT much money. When he answered the phone I said I’m the one who just called and I want to cancel. He said ‘ok’, and that was it. No ‘can I help you’ or ‘are you sure’ or ‘are you in a safe location’, nothing. He just didn’t give a damn.
So…one star… for nothing.
