OMGGGGGG they have Dita! The opticians are real and they carry independent luxury eyewear brands like Etnia Barcelona and Cazal. If you’re ever at the Southland Mall and want to see a real optical shop, look no further.

I came in to this place to get some contact lenses a month ago. The optometrist was very helpful. She ordered some trials for me to see whether I liked them so I called to order them.
The back office gave me a price. However after waiting for 10 days, I did not hear anything.
I called the office to get a response on Friday 04÷15÷16, but no answer from the office. On Saturday, I called back. A person named Jerry told me that there is no delivery on Saturday. So I waited until 4 pm on Monday 04÷18÷16 to call but no answer either. I called back around 6 pm and found out that they never placed my order. I was displeased because now I have to wait another 10 days for my contact lenses. I am also displeased because they did not admit to their mistake. Jerry keeps giving me a story about being busy so that is why they do not call back,
Wow!!!
If you are the manager of this service, please look into the problem, no one will come back after this kind of service.

I am glad to report that Gina, the office manager has apologized about the service and came through with my prescription. I think this is great that a business can acknowledge where it is falling short and took steps to correct it.

I have been coming to this place since I can remember. My eye doctor has always been great with me and really helps me understand how my prescription works and how it changes every year when I get my eyes checked. On top of this place being great and having a great doctor, Angelica one of the opticians at Eye Spy has helped me and my family through the years with choosing a frame that looks good and fits best. She makes any alterations needed so that the glasses feel comfortable with the new prescription every year. I cannot recommend this place enough I tell everybody I know That I go here when I get compliments on my glasses, I also recommend Angelica to help you because she has the best experience in making sure you find the best glasses and that they look good on you too no matter what style you have !

I would give zero stars if I could. I stopped in here twice to give them another chance. First, let me say, I love collecting glasses. So I always look for eclectic and cute frames. Both times I entered this store, the employees just seem upset to be working there. Nobody really wants to help open cases so you can check out the frames. The second time I visited was even worse. There were 5 or 6 people working there and after 20 minutes and asking a couple people, someone got out of her chair to open a case. But they couldn’t even find the right key to open the case!!! They just gave up looking and basically that was that. What a disappointment. I’m happy to take my business elsewhere!

So I’m giving this place one star because my husband got a pair of glass from here little over a go year and we bought that scratch protection because he works on cars and things fall on him almost daily. So he got a couple of little scratch on his glasses we went to the store and double check that we had it the girl first said no I don’t see anything here that says you have it and then she walked away from us and then some other girl came over and looks and said yes you have it we will order you new lenses and call you in about a week well I asked them to please give me a call so I could go and have it done when my husband worked well they did not they called him (not so bad but still annoying). Then we finally went to go get the new lenses and one was so scratched up that you could not see and was told no it’s just glue I will get it off well it did not come off, how do you not see that when you are checking them in. Then they ordered him new lenses again 2 weeks went by and did not hear from them had to call myself and see if they were in which they were in. How do you get away with employees that just don’t care.

If you are looking for some awesome glasses look no further!
I stumbled upon Eye Spy a few years ago while shopping for some tailgate gear for a football game. I was assisted by the office manager Gina and since then haven’t thought about shopping for glasses anywhere else!
They have an awesome selection of designer glasses and fairly decent price. I am able to get some unique Chanel and Gucci reading and sunglasses from this shop for a fairly decent price. Gina literally picks out frames that fit well on my face every year.
Go to Eye Spy and ask to be assisted by Gina, I promise you will not be disappointed!

The service is great, but they are really inconsistent in keeping in touch, I was supposed to receive a courtesy call reminding me of my appointment tomorrow which I forgot about and now it’s too late to call, as well as when I ordered my glasses, I had to continuously call to get an update when told I would get my glasses in two weeks, I didn’t get them until about a month after… good service when there but wish they were more courteous with following up.

Eye Spy has the BEST service! I have been coming here for a few years now and they are always so helpful and knowledgeable. I can’t say enough about the customer service I get here. They always remember your name and are super pleasant!!! Especially Gina! I would definitely recommend going to her. This place is so lucky to have her as an emoloyee. Although I am not too big on sales gimmicks and the extras, such as anti-​glare and transition lenses… she recommended a few items that I thought I did not need. However in taking a chance on the products, I realized I really do need them! Gina knows her customers better than they know themselves! She’s truly awesome.
The eye doctors are great too. I would highly recommend Dr. Sophia Hsiao or Dr. Julie Zhan
The wait is never long here. They work fast, but efficiently and cater to everyone who walks in as soon as they… walk in! :) Superb work!
What they could work on:
More selections on glasses (although they do have glasses you can’t find anywhere)
Unlike other places (won’t name them here, but you know what I’m talking about ;).) they may have have a huge selection, but their customer service is poor and they have super long waits.
You will not experience that type of service at Eye Spy.

I was referred to Eye Spy from a Co-​worker because she was very happy with them.
Well I decided to go with them. I’m very happy with my results. The staff is very friendly. I go in there one of the sweet Ladies knows me by name.
I have always seen the staff be very friendly and helpful. I would recommend this place to anyone else who might need eye care.

I have been going to Eye Spy since I was a little girl. Darren, his wife, and the optical team are great! They know me by name & always ask how my family is doing. They have a wide selection of designer frames to choose from and they are always upfront with you about your insurance coverage. I highly recommend this place for your optometry needs!

This review is long overdue! I’ve had the pleasure of interacting with ultra friendly staff who are super on top of things and very friendly. Can’t say enough good things about this spot and they have wide selection of designer frames which I love love love obviously. 5 stars and very recommended.

I live in Sonoma County, used to live in Hayward, but decided to come to Eye Spy for my glasses because my insurance changed from VSP to EyeMed and no authorized Chanel perception glasses store would take my version of EyeMed in Sonoma/​Marin County.
My glasses arrived within a week, even-​though they said 2 weeks, got a call right away.
My minus 1 star is because I had to make 3 – 4 calls before my appointment to verify insurance; they originally looked it up by VSP, then couldn’t find me in EyeMed (I’m under my husband)…

Staff was always exteremely rude all the times I have come to visit this store in hopes to find a pair of glasses that suit my face shape. I come here sometimes because my sister and in laws get their glasses here but from my experience the girls’ working here are super short with you and look at you up and down when you come in to ask some questions or try on a few frames!
If you hate your job so much, why tf are you working here? CAN YOU SMILE? Say hi? Anything to show you care that I am interested in your selection of frames and giving you my business instead of taking it elsewhere?
I don’t know who hires/​trains these chicks but none of them seem personable and really try to rush you out of the store! My mother in law has also had a problem with their procedures on getting a free pair of frames every year or something, she has had to come in and put her foot down about their sketchy «policies». I would avoid this place and find somewhere that really cares to build a good relationship with its clientele.

This place is a joke! Besides the doctor no one here cares why your here. I literally sat on a chair stared at a big ass mirror for about 20min before anyone asked me if I needed help or well be rite with you nothing there is 3 people here only one was helping a customer and to top it off they missed placed my chart it wasn’t for the doctor lady I probably would still be sitting here looking like a retard, now they are scrambling looking for my chart.

Good selection in designer frames but not much more than that, nothing that you can’t find anywhere else. If you have good coverage, use it somewhere that’s worth it. The staff acts like they’re the only place on the planet that accepts VSP!
They offer terrible customer service!!! I have only had average experiences here for the last 3 sets of glasses that my family has purchased with them, but after a recent purchase things went haywire and I WILL NEVER GO BACK.
I worked with Gina, Angelica, Camille separately to try and resolve an issue with my order for eyeglasses being delayed, and finally spoke to the manager Darren. I was appalled by the way that the staff treats people, speaks to customers, and by the poor training, lack of respect and lies that they are allowed to tell.
I waited from ¹¹⁄₂₀ until ¹²⁄₁₀ for my glasses which by the way one lens makes a loud squeaky sound!!! to arrive when I was initially told they would be ready in «about 5-​days», I was then told that I would receive $ 30 off for all of trouble and did NOT receive that discount either. I was told there was a delay in shipping my glasses due to Thanksgiving, then due to the weekend, then due to a back order on the frame (which was not the case), then lastly that the lab moved!!! what the hell?
I talked with the manager Darren who was very unprofessional. He was NON apologetic about any part of the entire situation. After I explained how his staff put me in the center of an argument, in an awkward position, had not kept me informed, not met the promised deadline, and had caused so much confusion… there was never even an apology offered. He agreed that he has issues with staff often, «especially Angelica» and still did nothing, it’s no wonder his staff are such jerks when he’s the model citizen for the office! NONE of the promises that ANY of the office staff made were kept and Darren stated «we don’t owe you anything». Best of luck to any of you that still try and do business with this curt, incompetent jerk!!!
I used to refer my patients to them on a regular basis and will NOT do so anymore! I will discourage anyone I know from using them to spare myself the embarrassment.

Unless you have specific condition, I don’t think getting your eye sight tested is super science. In that context, my experience with doctors at Eye Spy is not any different from my experience with other vision doctors.
The reason I like Eye Spy is the collection of frames they have to offer. Most of the clinics that take VSP have very narrow frame collection. Eye Spy on the other hand has wide range of collection and their staff is quite friendly to help you try different frames.
The only reason they don’t get 5 star is because I know some other places are bit cheaper than Eye Spy in terms of frame prices.

I came here after having a hard time finding a frame I liked at Walmart. I’m still under my dad’s insurance which is VSP so the places we could go to were limited. After basically being told I’d have to buy new black frames in the male section, my dad and I decided to get our glasses elsewhere.
This location is really close to our house, since we live only a block away from Olive Garden. Super easy to find and it’s right by a mall entrance. Our experience there was fantastic. We had to wait for someone to be able to try on some frames, but that’s okay because some one them are really expensive in the $ 400+ range. The lady who helped us pointed out which frames were for females and gave us a good price range.
I ended up getting some Ray Bans since I’m turning super hispster lately. We were able to process our insurance really fast and only had to pay $ 132 for the frame, lenses, and anti-​glare package which acts as insurance. Without insurance it would have cost us close to $ 300. Only about $ 10 more than what my dad had to play for his personal pair of glasses at Walmart. I would totally come here again since the people who work at the front desk are my age and can tell what I need as a young adult and service is speedy and not pushy.

Dear Eye Spy, here is my updated review for you.
A few months ago, I came in for an appointment, but missed one of two appointments because we were a little late. I was frustrated and vented off at Angelica, for which I apologize. I think this is the 50^th time i’m saying sorry to you Angelica :-) Thanks for keeping your cool and not screaming back at me.
I believe I am a long time customer (over 10+ years I believe) and introduced my wife to Eye Spy — and she’s become a fan because of your choices on frames that are far superior to many of the other places I’ve peeked in to see. My previous review said the frames are expensive, but thanks for explaining that there are different types of frames for different budget — i guess my taste in frame style far exceeds what i’m willing to dish out of pocket.
Jeana and Angelica, thank you ladies for accepting my apology when I came back in, greeting us with smiles and most importantly taking care of us just like you have been for quite a while. Hope this updated review puts a smile on your faces :-)

A side note for myself and a tip for others, i think it may be wiser to go earlier than an appt time (if you’re going to get dilated) to look at the frames and try them on. I’ve found that after getting dilated, the vision is blurry for a while and makes picking frames a little bothersome when your eyesight is worse because of the dilation.

Been going here since 2010 and all doctors are nice, friendly and easy to ask questions about any issues. The staff are easy to work with when asking about your insurance coverage. Located in an easy place of Southland mall. Very nice store.
They offer a great selection of fashionable and branded glasses that are better then LensCrafter’s cheaper glasses.
Will keep coming back… I will recommend this place.
