This is our families go to Chinese food spot. We’ve been ordering here ever since I can remember. Their chow mien is one of our favorites. Everything is very flavorful and are big portions. The staff is very friendly and its nice when they know us as one of their usuals. All in all, good place!

Excellent Hot and Sour Soup. I love their soup, especially when it is cold outside. Other favorites pot stickers, War Wonton Soup, Asparagus Beef, and Lemon Chicken. I love the owner and employees. Been going there for years. Unfortunately prices jumped two years ago, so we go less often.

The Americanized Chinese food is horrible here. I’m not sure about the real Chinese menu though, I’m sure it’s much better. They serve the largest noodles I’ve ever seen in my life: noodles as thick as pencils. The orange«best» chicken is flavorless and always looks and tastes like it was cooked in week old grease. They do have great customer service though, and the atmosphere is nice. I’m hoping they can turn around the American Chinese menu portion — perhaps consult with someone on how to fix that issue. Has potential.

I’m not sure what all the complaints are about(Donna…the menu says HAM fried rice, not pork. Read the menu before you complain about what you get.). The prices here are very fair and typical for a la carte items. The combo plate has more than enough food for one person for under $ 10. The food is very fresh and tasty. The staff are very friendly and welcoming. There’s nothing wrong with the décor in here and they do an excellent job keeping the dining area very clean. I love Chinese food and I know a bad place when I come across one and this place gets it right. I’ll definitely be back.

It can’t be china best at all. Food is average, not tasty, no flavor, but it’s near by my house

Below average Chinese food. Not very flavorful and semi greasy. The vegetables are fresh tasting but to many dishes are not tasty.

My go to for Americanized Chinese food. The combo meals come with one entrée, chow mein, and steamed rice so I keep it simple and alternate between three different(or are they) types of chicken(salt and pepper, orange, lemon). Their vegetable soup with tofu is pretty good too. Plus, everyone is always nice and smiling and it doesn’t hurt that it’s two minutes away and programmed into my favorites list. The makings of a perfect hangover spot.

Is it the best Chinese food you’ll ever eat? Of course not. But it’s a perfectly decent option for a Chinese restaurant in Hayward. We just moved to the area and it’s close to our house, so we ordered takeout for dinner. I’ve read some of the reviews that say the women who work here were rude, but I found exactly the opposite. The woman who took my order on the phone was quick and professional, and when I went in to pick up the food, the woman who checked me out(could have been the same one, not sure) was extremely friendly and accommodating. She even gave me a free sample of their almond cookies when I expressed interest. As for the food, it was fine. We received exactly what we ordered. The hot and sour soup was a little on the vinegary side, and my husband said his mongolian beef was OK, though not the best he’d ever had. The combo fried rice was adequate. The best of the order was my lemon chicken — I’m pretty picky and have been disappointed at the last few places, but this was just the right combination of sweet and tangy. We’ll order from here again.

If you are near campus, this place is decent. The combo lunch is filling and the service was quick. Combo consists of 1 cup of rice, chow mein and an entrée. The eggplant with prawns was decent overall. Chow mein was okay. rice is rice. For 10 bucks I had enough for two people. Other folks got — orange chicken combo– was well liked — spicy tofu… decent — cashew chicken… within 15 minutes we all had our to go plates(there were seven of us) Will come back.

China Worst!!! Dont eat here. So upset, just drove home after ordering food from this place. Got home and realized I was given the wrong item. Called them and the lady argued with me that I had ordered broccoli beef? What Bit*#, I don’t even eat that. I wanted Mongolian beef… She insisted I was wrong, then said bring it back. My daughter was with me when I ordered and said they would probably tamper with the food if we went back… Never again. Don’t eat here.

I enjoy going here for take out dinner when I don’t feel like cooking. The women behind the counter are extremely friendly and know that I don’t eat pork and always great me with such enthusiasm. I especially love their vegetable egg rolls.

For starters service and food is poor and disgusting. i ate here for lunch and let’s say I was upset before I even got my food. The waitress argued she couldn’t serve me what I asked for even if I paid more. Then while I’m eating she brings the receipt to the table and very rude and loud says I don’t charge you but you ordered something I didn’t even tell her I wanted. Then after just sitting here just wanting to get back to work I found a pincher bug in my rice. That was that. This place needs to be reported to the BBB and dept of health. Don’t order rice. It has bugs in it. Look the pics. Overall poor experience there like I never have felt before in a restaurant. Disgusting.

China Best? More like China Worst. I agree with Jed D. Hayward and Chinese food… just not a good combination is it? 0 Star for the Worst Chinese food in Hayward 1 Star for okay ambiance and lackluster service Terrible, Americanized Chinese food that left a fat hole in my wallet($ 24 total) while filling me with regret and tears. I couldn’t even tell if this was Taiwanese, Hong Kong, Szechuan cuisine, etc. probably because it was not authentic Chinese food period. I’ve eaten Asian cuisine everywhere from Bay Area, SF, SoCal, and even in ASIA! And this place blows. I ordered Chinese take-out for my friend and me and decided to be adventurous and come here. If Bronco Billy’s is good, why can’t China Best be good too? WRONG! So wrong. The place itself was a spacious, tacky 90s restaurant with stereotypical Asian decorations everywhere– bamboo trees, paper signs, etc. China Best offers Luncheons, Combo, and Ala Carte portions and prices. I ordered the ala carte of …Combination Fried Rice $ 7.75 Worst Chinese fried rice I have ever eaten. My fried rice had HAM, peas, and carrots. WHATCHINESEFRIEDRICEHASHAM??? The correct Yang Chow/Combo Fried Rice should have Shrimp, Pork, Scallions, Chicken, etc. but were any of those delicious items found in my rice? No. The rice itself was also hard and dry, disappointing. …Mongolian Beef $ 8.25 The beef was 1) not spicy at all, 2) oddly more sweet and sour, 3) FULL of useless vegetables. There were very few beef slices. This might as well have been a vegetarian dish because my Mongolian beef was a champion at hide-and-go seek. …Orange Chicken $ 7.95 Weird. Just weird. The chicken meat itself didn’t taste like fresh, white meat chicken. The orange sauce also tasted old… the chicken meat tasted old. How is this called the«Best Chicken»? Probably because it is the best at being the oldest tasting chicken on the planet. These 3 items are standard essentials for Chinese cuisine. How can it be messed up and taste so horrible and Americanized(meaning it was not spiced enough)? Do yourself a favor and eat Chinese food OUTSIDE of Hayward.

I love that store, I still remember when I was a poor student, the owner of the store(husband, no passed away) told me that if I ever felt hungry, come to his place and he will make sure I am full. Great place, great food and everyone is very friendly!

Food used to be good but now the sauces are watered down(to increase profit?) and is extremely overpriced AND they have screwed up our orders 3 times now. No snow peas in the dish that is supposed to contain them. I won’t be back.

I normally am not one for chinese food but bronco billy’s was packed and I was hungry and impatient. So I came here for the first time in my 4 years at EB and was pleasantly surprised! This place is clean, food is quickly served and tastes pretty good(although I found the chicken a tad too dry) Their portions are huge and I split my lunch combo with a girl friend and we still had a bit left over. To those complaining of poor service due to race, I believe that’s how they treat everyone. I’m chinese and they were quite rude to me too! I believe that’s just the typical nature of asian customer service — sad but that’s all I’ve seen! Whatever, just feed me, I’m hungry!

I’ve been coming to China best for many years and I’m never disappointed. Whether it’s for lunch or dinner China Best is a great place for tasty Chinese food that’s semi-healthy. Of the innumerable times I’ve been here, I’ve tried almost all of the items on their menu, and they’ve all been delicious! Dishes you should definitely try: –Combination Chow Mein –Walnut Prawns –Seafood Deluxe Fish Fillet The service is great. Everyone is really nice, including the owners. You’re surrounded by Chinese decorations, listen to traditional Chinese music, and there’s even a big open space in the wall so you can even watch your Chinese food be cooked! Great food, great service, and nice atmosphere. The perfect place to take your family or friends for some casual, moderately priced Chinese cuisine.
