Ajs Coffee

No. just no. I was out of coffee and too lazy to get out of my pajama’s so I decided to go here for the drive thru. I ordered a large latte with 2 extra shots. It lacked the full bodiness and creamy froth on top that one gets from Starbucks. I also ordered an Oreo Frappé. It did not have the nice big top like in the pic and did not have the Oreo’s. I asked the girl about it and she rolled her eyes, but put them on becuase I told her I wanted it. She also made a comment about it to the customer on the other side. Major attitude. While she was making it, I took a sip of my latte and noticed the abscence of the creamy, frothy top to it and took off the top and pointed it out to the other girl who took my order. She offered to fix it, bit still it just didn’t have that nice feel that one gets from a Starbuck’s latte. Gets in my craw because I prefer to patronize the small business owner always but next time I’ll just get dressed and go to Starbucks instead for consistency, a way better attitude and their drinks actually look like their pics. I’m bummed this place is so medicore.

They always know my order and they make it perfect every time. This is my go to coffee stop in the mornings and afternoons.

The coffee’s and milkshakes are good but the place is just way overpriced. On top of the expensive drink, they charge an additional $.60 for whipped cream!

Sorry Starbucks, the only coffee I’ll buy is AJ’s. The crew is awesome no matter what time of day. The coffee is divine especially if you order it sugar free. Every trip to Hayward is a must stop for me.

I start nearly every day with a cinnamon breve from AJs. The owner and staff are friendly, with bright smiles and efficient service every time. The fact that this is a drive through kiosk means I don’t have to get outta the car and stand in line — a huge plus!

I really love their ice chai latte (not the dirty one) to the point I have purchased 3 in one day (I live around the corner) on more than one occasaion. The problem I have with AJs is THEIR BARISTAS CAN NEVER MAKE A CONSISTENT DRINK. When they make it right it’s AWESOME. BUT 70% of the times they never make it right. Most of the time too much milk and bland, then I have complained and asked can they make it a little stronger but then it’s too strong. Every wrong way possible I have received.
And they raised their rates last yr and to pay almost $ 5 for a drink that isn’t made right the majority of the time is tiring.
I just stopped going. I miss their ice chai latte but tired of taking a chance and praying they make it right and then it being off.

This little coffee shop never fails to make me happy. I usually order either the Oreo frappé, Andes mint, or an Oreo + Andes mint frappé. Pricing is not bad for quality drinks. Smalls are like a grande at Starbucks and mediums are like a venti at Starbucks. Much cheaper than other coffee shops and great drinks! Also, when you walk here with your dog they give them treats!

I live nearby, and I’ve always seen their open sign on, whether it be early in the morning or late at night. I came once, and I ordered a medium chai latte with whipped cream; it came out to be around $ 5. Kind of expensive, but the medium looked and felt like an XL instead, so I guess the price makes sense. The frappé was kind of grainy and really sweet. I could feel the espresso that they put in the drink. I think I’d like to come again and see what their less sugary drinks are like. 4 for the taste and speedy service.

Love this place. The prices are awesome for the size drink you get. The ladies working there are really nice. And the coffee beats the big box stores (I.E. Starbucks) Just wish they had longer hours.

I love this place ! Reasonably priced and the girls are always friendly ! I also love that they give my dog a treat when he is in the car with me. The drive thru is super convenient and I totally makes my commute easier with my coffee in hand without having to make an actual stop. I can’t say enough about how great this place is

friendly girl helped us out. ordered a mad aj’s frappé and a pumpkin spice frappé. soooo good. right across the street from Val’s burger. kinda mad as to how we rushed in traffic to make it here and they close at 7. not 6 like Unilocal says so -.- would come here again!

Super FRIENDLY little coffee shop. They have an extensive menu with pastries. I got a medium iced zebra mocha. Looks like a large. They charged me around $ 5. Great little place to get my coffee when I’m on the go. Way better than Starbucks with way better service. :)

Drive thru is convenient when on the run. Starbucks never has parking up the street. Coffie is excellent and last time gave my kids free peanuts. #thanks

Love this place! Love the drive through, makes things so easy when you have 3 kids in the car! Coffee is good and reasonable and I really like that they will give a free shot for free! :)

The young ladies working here are awesome! Very personable and always remember my order when I pull up. The male owner/​manager or whoever he is… is a jerk! The worst! He’s rude and not personable at all! The 4 stars on this review are for the young ladies that make this place a success. The empty star is for their jerk of a manager.

I was quite disappointed with my visit. I came here because of the Unilocal reviews, but asked for my money back in the end (which I’ve never done before). The girl that was working was friendly, but the coffee was horrible. My latte tasted like watered down instant coffee, and my friend’s cappuccino didn’t even have any taste of coffee just watery milk. I felt bad for the girl who was the only one working– I’m wondering if that had an affect on the quality of the coffee. I still believe that this is a good little shop, but I just caught Aj’s on a very very bad day.

I love the drive thru but it’s ridiculous that they charge for whip cream on a Frapp!

I like the mad AJs this is 100% better then star bucks great flavor to the end. Un like star bucks at the end of the fraps you have lots of ice and very little or no
flavor. So far all of our friends and family have been very pleased with AJs. THE DRINKS ARE ALSO LARGER AT AJs. I think if they open earlier and close later they would stay buisy enough to cover the hours but they know what there doing I mean they do make the best drinks around.

Rico and Jessica are awesome. Totally awesome and very patient although they were getting ready to close.

It was pretty fast service considering that there was only one girl taking orders and making drinks. I went early at 630am and there was a line of cars on both sides of the stand. I ended getting a black and white mocha with almond milk. They also have soy milk for the lactose intolerant.
This is my third time come here and they have always been friendly and fast with their service. It right down my street so I will be back.

To Hell with RACIST Businesses!!!
So i walked up to this drive through coffee shop with my coworker. We had just both got cash out of an atm.
I ordered coffee and paid with a $ 20. This dude swiftly takes my money and gets me coffee. Then my coworker, a 30something African American, walks up and asks for change for a $ 20 he also got from the atm. The dude glances at it and says «not for that $ 20» and hands it back quickly accusing my coworker of it being fake.
When i get upset, he realizes we there together and claims he did not have change. but i SAW his register and he DID. My coworker asked the dude to explain how the bill is fake since my coworker used to be a banker and knows all about that stuff.
The guy gets all upset and tells my coworker it just felt fake and we needed to go. We said that he was obviously being racist and that we would Unilocal him and he got upset and tried to claim he did not give a fuck.
my coworker then started filming with his cellphone. The dude was pissed we were questioning his racist businesses practices on film so he then precedes to call the cops and tell them a «hispanic looking woman and a Black male were attacking his store» as if we were looting it. DO NOT go to AJ Coffee on Center Street in Hayward! Actually, go and tell them you wont get coffee from RACIST BUSINESSES! Tell him you saw his picture viral on the net under the headline «Racist AJ’s Coffee Does Not Put Pep In My Step «. This asshole apparently owns the place… Here is his picture.

I’ve tried AJ’s coffee multiple times and I have yet to be disappointed! If you like the white mocha at Starbucks, STOP BY AJ’s coffee and you will not regret it. (Starbucks, who?)
The white mocha with raspberry syrup is a must try! Quick service, friendly staff, dee-​licious coffee, what more can you ask for?

The customer service here is really incredible. The friendliest baristas work here. They always make my day brighter. They have almond milk which is another plus. I never want to go anywhere else for my coffee.

The drinks are really good and I like that their large is really like an XL! Always like trying something new because everything always tastes so good! I’ve never had bad service or a bad experience in the few times ive been here. I only wish they were open longer!

Consistency isn’t always their with how good their coffee is. Prices are equal too that of Starbucks or peets. But the convenience of driving thru earned my clientele.

I’ve know about this place for awhile now but finally got a chance to try it out. I got their green tea smoothie and OMG I was beyond impressed. The green tea flavor was a perfect until my last sip without being overly sweet. They have variety of coffee and cold drinks along with pastries which I’m sure are all great in taste. Another great perk is that they have a drive-​thru window so you don’t have to get out of your car. Quick and friendly service and I will definitely be back to try the other drinks.

I need coffee to get my day started, when visiting family who are not coffee drinkers it gets a little rough, but thanks to my Unilocal App I was able to find AJ’s Coffee.
It’s a cute 2 window drive up coffee stop that bangs out amazing cups of joe! My drink, a hot large caramel macchiato with 2 extra shots of espresso, and they are no joke on their large and it came out under 5 bucks! Service is fast & friendly, it as a great little coffee stop. We became fast friends while I was in the area.
