Brought my Z4 here for a window regulator. Mike was a really cool dude and helped me out a lot!
I came back to get a code reset for an airbag light. Mike was nice enough to top off my coolant for me (BMW dealership had told me my coolant was fine and it was most likely a malfunctioning sensor).
Mike reset everything for me and now there are no dashboard lights!

Dont waste your time or money here. If I really do needed a transmission change. At least give me a bit more details, symptoms and show me and point it out. So I can feel your being honest and make sure that’s what I really need changed. It seem like once I told Mike the check engine code. He was quick to say after the guy check my car. You need a transmission change and was quick to get me out of there. If I wasn’t gonna purchase a new transmission. Not a good sign for first time customer smh… after I got my car check. I got no info about my car. Fluid low? Does it accelerate correctly? Etc… instead my answer was… you need a transmission change

Hayward Aamco took my car in and found the problem, kept me in the loop from start to finish, and got me back on the road again in no time. These guys rock and mike is an awesome guy to have representing the company. They have my business for life!

I recently brought my car to thr shop for a free Initial check because of my check engine light went on. Michael greeted me and told me they needed a further diagnostic to pin point what exactly was the issue was. Three days later I got my car back and everything was running great. He then told me to come back in 10 days to two weeks so he can make sure he fixed the problem. I haven’t had an issues since. Thanks guys for making my experience with you easy and very stress-​free!

I had my Transmission replaced twice at the end 2013 the transmission went out again in the beginning of 2015. Well the transmission has now went out AGAIN. .I will NOT be taking my car back here. My Transmission has never lasted more then thirteen months at a time. Customer service was pleasant. that’s all. The one star is for the customer service.

Absolutely love the service here. A charming man named Mike who greeted me got me and my cute little white tercel in and out same day. I even got to meet the mechanic that was working on my car explained the problem I had. (Check engine light that ended up being bad vacuum line.) Replaced it free of charge and sent me on my way. Referring everyone I know who has car problems to the guys over at AAMCO.

We needed simply to get a check engine light diagnosis. We thought of these guys due their marketing. The young man who greeted us was very arrogant rude and cocky and turned us away saying that this is California and we need paperwork to do anything. He said we had to wait until Wednesday to do it. We told him he was very rude turning us away and made a crass comment about us disagreeing with the law. His customer service skills sucked. We will never go to ANY AAMACO again.

I was really excited to came here after I read the reviews. I met mike and he seen nice. I was happy to meet him because people have recommended him and he has fixed there cars. This
Place is full of shit. I brought my corolla 1995 because it was stalling and I wanted them to do diagnose test and they even told me they would weave my fee as long they did the repairing. (which I was happy about that) because after countless hours wasted on other shop and other shop told they couldn’t fix it so I decide to come to ammco for this help. I came in Wednesday at 7 am and mike told me the car will be ready today with possible Monday So I call at 4 pm Wednesday that day
to see where the status of the car was. He told me that the car won’t be ready until Monday and that they re closing on December 24 and December 25 for the holidays and they re not open on Saturday or Sunday too and that I would after to wait until Monday. I was sad but I told mike I would wait it out until Monday because I just want the car fix. So then Monday came and I call mike to see where the car was but he never answer or call me back .I had to call them like 4 time before somebody even responded to me. There are in considerate of there customer and they take there sweet time. Like I need this car and I can’t even get to work .I call them dozen time before they had to get back to me. They finally told I need a ECU on Tuesday that it would cost me 1600 dollars and it took 7 days to get my car. It’s ridiculous. The funny thing is that I google that part and it doesn’t even cost that much on Auto Zone. They rip you off if they know you ‘re women and don’t know. Never again I wasted my time and my car could been fixed and I should just went to pep boy. They over overcharged. Don’t wasted time or money.

Had my car diagnosed with an issue with it’s main shaft bearing, as it was making noise. Diagnoses was through 3 different mechanics, decided AAMCO would do the work as they seem to be a larger shop, if anything went wrong, I wanted the shop that worked on my vehicle to still be around to fix it. Horrible mistake on my part.
Initial quote from the Center Manager Mike stated $ 2,800 — $ 3,600. This included Parts and labor including a new clutch if needed, and was considered the «Worst case scenario.»
I decided before he did the work, I wanted to use a non-​standard clutch in in the vehicle, and asked Mike if he would be alright with that, and still warranty the work if something went wrong. He told me no problem, he had done the particular clutch swap many times before for my particular vehicle. I asked since I was purchasing this parts, would there be a reduction in the quote for service, Mike verbally said a ‘few hundred dollars’ but wasn’t at his computer to see what it would be exactly. No problem, sounded good to me.
Ordered the parts, brought the vehicle in for work, left the non-​standard clutch and components in the trunk, and let Mike know. He gave me a completion date, Which he missed by a weekend. Oh and by the way, that $ 3,600 «worst case scenario» quote he gave us? And how he would knock off a few hundred dollars since I supplied a clutch and flywheel? He called and mentioned now that he had the car in and the transmission apart it would now be $ 3,944.65. Why, my wife and I asked. There was more damage than expected. So why in the world were we quoted for worst case scenario if there was a even worse case scenario? This is where Mike lost all credibility.
My wife and I picked up the vehicle the Monday it was complete. The minute we started the car, it made the EXACT SAME NOISE. We mentioned this to Mike, and he told us to drive the car for a few days to see if it would go away. At this point I don’t believe him at all, but what can we do?
We drove the car around for a few days, not only was the noise still prevalent, the car had difficulty in going into ever gear, including reverse. We brought the car back, very unhappy. Mike received the car, mentioned that there definitely was issues with the transmission rebuilt, and would do it again, free of charge. He AGAIN missed his completion date, and on top of that, made no effort to communicate with us, we had to constantly call him for updates.
We received the car again, still had the same noise, still had issues getting into reverse, however the other gears were better. Brought it back to Mike after a few days with the same complaints.
He mentioned he was very unhappy with his subcontractor for this entire mess. Wait what, you market your company as the transmission repair, but you SUBCONTRACT OUT YOUR TRANSMISSION WORK? Left the vehicle with him again, very unhappy that not only was this mess not worked out, but he was in fact giving it to someone else to work on. He had no interest in doing the work himself, and was now blaming a subcontractor for shotty work.
After ANOTHER missed completion date we received the car. Mike had it professionally details this time, as he felt bad for us. Looked great. Still had the noise issue and difficulty going into reverse.
Took the car into another mechanic. He let us know based on the exterior condition and the amount of leakage from the transmission, he had doubts it had ever been replaced. Swell. Mentioned this to Mike, who obviously was not happy to hear us accuse him of not doing any work to the vehicle. He said to bring the vehicle into him again, and we told him no, at this point he had 3 attempts to fix, and we had been without the vehicle for other a months time, and we wanted a refund. He refused, said he would have a rental car for us when we scheduled to bring our vehicle in.
The car is a Lexus IS300, we definitely expected a comparable car, however we didn’t. We received some tiny POS, and this was AFTER my wife had to argue for over an hour about Mike paying for it, not us. Mike told us he would tear apart the transmission and see what the issue was himself, not the sub contractor.
He called us and told us he had not done a transmission removal and replacement, as the transmission was not leaking our rack and pinion was, and the noise (SAME EXACT NOISE AS DAY 1) was not coming from the transmission, but in fact our starter. Contradictory to another mechanic. Mike was back peddling to save his butt.
TLDR:
1. We now have 2 mechanics that agree the transmission was not replaced, and is leaking.
2. His initial quote was not kept to, blowing by it’s original figure by $ 600 — $ 1,400.
3. Lied to multiple times, missed completion dates every single time.
4. After spending over $ 4,000 on the car, being diagnosed by multiple mechanics as a transmission issue, Mike says it is not. AFTER TAKING OUR MONEY.
Google AAMCO Lawsuits, No more space to list the websites that have caught them in shotty work

Me and my girl just started getting our Volvo V70 XC fixed on here. They allow you to get your parts sent in. That’s cool you don’t HAVE to get them from Aamco. When our check engine light was on. Nobody seemed to be able to figure out the problem. We were referred here by a friend. So we brought our car in. The guy made it a mission to figure out the problem. After about a week. We got the good news. YES! We’ve been coming here every since.

Brought my Jeep for transmission problem on a Wednesday and it was Friday and they had still to diagnose it. They kept telling me that they like to do a good job and those things take time. They were going to get to it until Monday. They had originally told me that they had found a problem with an ep valve and they had to replace it costing me $ 180 and they later said they never said that the $ 180 was going to be to diagnose my car. So after 3 days of me being without my car and wasting my time with them I pulled it out of their shop. I had already taking my car to another shop previously and they were able to give me a diagnose within ½ hour and they charged me $ 60. HORRIBLE SERVICE AND OVER PRICED.

I’m back. The service light on my Mercedes GLK had been on for a few weeks and I figured I better get it looked at. I love my car and want to make sure it’s well taken care of! Since my last experience at AAMCO Hayward exceeded my expectations, I knew they’d do a good job.
It was routine maintenance but I didn’t want to ignore it. The price was very reasonable (much less than what the dealership quoted me) and they were just as professional and performed quality work. No pressure. No smooth talking. No tricks. Just took good care of my car. I especially liked how the manager called me with updates — he listened when I told him I needed my car back by a certain day/​time. They got the work done early so I told them to go ahead and do the oil change as well. It was a good deal for the quality oil and filter that they use. Love a great deal!
Another bonus: the owner was there when I picked up my car and he’s really on top of things. You know he puts customer service first. He was appreciative of my business and made me feel valued. And, his prices are a great deal for the quality work! I’ll be back.

Mike was an absolute GEM today! I called regarding my check engine light… I guessed it was my gas cap… he asked if I had time to come in today; I rushed there during lunch and David checked & cleared my check engine light code… in and out within 5 minutes!!! I was/​am so relieved and happy. Thank u Mike & David! :)

Mike at AAMCO was absolutely wonderful today. He was extremely supportive when I decided to take my Jeep to the dealership for another estimate and he was even kinder when I brought it back for him to do the transmission. What a class act! No judgement just super helpful. Not to mention a huge price difference.

Took my car in only for them to miss what was actually wrong with my car, they just told me I needed transmission fluid replaced (it’s actually fine). Good thing I got a second opinion. Never going back.
(Edit) the guy working at this place just called me to complain about my Unilocal review. I was actually napping when this happened and he woke me up to ask why I left it so Here’s your answer buddy, 1. My transmission fluid is fine 2. I was told there was a leak in my power steering, wrong, it was my upper intake manifold and it needs to be replaced. 3. I took my car back from you in worse conditions that it was before as soon I left it was shuddering, and jolting in idle. It even completely shut down on me twice.

David & the AAMCO Hayward team have been nothing but awesome! They had a promotion for an oil change & brake repair and since my car was long overdue for service, I took it in. The crew got all of the services done in a quick and efficient way and saved me money & time.
David, the sales or general manager (I don’t know which), kept me updated since I had some stuff come up unexpectedly so needed my car back sooner than I had told him. He accommodated me with the new timeline and I got my car back all fixed up and ready to go, no extra charge!
David & the team were so great, I’m going to take my car back there for any other issues. I always thought that AAMCO was just about transmissions but have to say that they’re pretty darned good with just about everything!

Seeing that most of these reviews were ancient, I figure it’s best to share my experience at this AAMCO because they had an ownership change 6+ months ago.

Did I say I know nothing about cars? Actually, I could tell my old truck’s transmission was acting funny (slipping). Took it to the nearest transmission shop, AAMCO, and was greeted by both the manager and owner.
They were honest and sincere. The technician, with manager by his side, explained what was wrong with my vehicle (which I have no idea what he said). Anyhow, I thought I was going to spend $ 2,000 — $ 2,500 on a new tranny and for $ 930, my car now runs as smooth as Kenny G’s Greatest Hits.
How can I be sure I didn’t get ripped off? After my visit, I called around several places to see how much it would cost to fix the same problem — all except 1 place were more expensive, and the lesser was only a $ 30 difference.
I’m not sure if AAMCO reads this, but if you do, I owe you big time because you literally saved me a ton of money and time!

The manager David is really friendly, but the service is ok. I dropped my car off at 9am for a diagnosis test and it wasn’t ready until 3:30. When I got there they had changed some spark plugs, air filter, and oil change for 389.00. My car is running better, but I don’t understand what took so looooong!
