I call them to repair the freezer last Saturday, come here quick and leave quick. The freezer is on 40F，Charge me $ 129. Let me replace whole unit, cost $ 5000.
Then I call another company，the technician check the compressor and adjust the pressure, the freezer
Is normal, I paid $ 175.
Don’t ask them to repair anything, save time and money.

I noticed some negative reviews below, and I definitely think people are allowed to voice their opinion. My fiancé and I think that BMS and the entire staff that we dealt with during an air conditioning emergency were incredible. Super friendly on the phone, but more importantly knowledgeable and HONEST. That’s right, honesty. Something you don’t always get in the service industry but TJ helped us in so many ways. We had a ton of questions of course, but he never got frustrated and our house was back to normal (thank god!) in no time. I highly recommend BMS to anyone in NOVA and will refer them to friends.

Don’t let the generous one star fool you. Everyone I’ve dealt with in this company is unprofessional, rude, and disrespectful. I called them last year when my air conditioner stopped working. Tony showed up 4 hours late and didn’t bother calling until I called their office looking for him. Mark, who I assume is the owner (even though he will never provide his last name), refunded me $ 100 for the time I unnecessarily took off of work, so I called them again when my AC stopped worked again. Who wouldn’t appreciate repeat business? I specifically said I didn’t want Tony again, so I was told Harry, the senior tech, would be coming. Harry actually showed up on time, but didn’t do any work. I took off work early again and Harry refused to even diagnose the problem. He said the motor they installed last year was still working so something else was broken. He said if he diagnosed anything, he’d have to charge me the service fee. I told him I was fine that, but he still refused to look at anything besides the working motor. He then started telling me how the company had excellent customer service. I immediately told him I disagreed with his assessment of their customer service. When one guy shows up 4 hours late and the other one will only look at what’s still working and they both wasted my time, that is not excellent customer service. I guess Harry didn’t appreciate that I disagreed with him and then proceeded to prove my point, when HE WALKED AWAY AND DROVE OFF. Unbelievable. I immediately sent an email to Mark complaining about Harry’s rudeness and how he didn’t even diagnose the problem with my AC and just walked away. I copied Harry on the email I sent to Mark, but didn’t get an apology from either one of them. I also pointed out that their website claims «exceptional customer service… the first time and every time» and that was false advertising. No response from Mark about that issue, but he did offer to send TJ out the next day. There was absolutely no way I was going to let them waste my time for a THIRD time. I filed a complaint with the BBB that night and scheduled a repair with another company. Someone from the other company came to my house ON TIME, diagnosed the problem, and actually fixed the problem in less than an hour. That’s exceptional customer service or just good business. Five days after Harry showed up to do absolutely no work and even after I told Mark I wasn’t wasting my time with them anymore, TJ had the nerve to call me that following Sunday (FATHER’S DAY) claiming they still wanted to look at my AC and help me fix the problem. Really??? Harry wasn’t interested in fixing the problem. Did TJ really think I’d still be sitting in my house with no AC 5 days later? Besides, it was completely inappropriate for TJ to be calling on FATHER’S DAY, and five days after I told them I was done with them. I called TJ back a few days later and left him a voicemail telling him that calling someone he doesn’t even know and isn’t doing business with on FATHER’S DAY is completely inappropriate. He never called back to apologize — not that I expected him to. I emailed the same complaint to Mark. No response from him either, much less an apology. When they finally responded to my BBB complaint, it was from the secretary Lydia, calling me MISS. Really? That’s how you address your customers? I’m not a 16 year old girl. I’m an adult homeowner who made the mistake of giving BMS a second chance. Apparently, Mark couldn’t even be bothered to respond to the complaint himself. I rejected their response over a week ago, but I still haven’t gotten another response. MISS Lydia, the secretary, claimed that I used offensive language with Harry and they chose not to do business with me. That’s such a BLATANT LIE made up by MISS Lydia to try to blame the customer for their complete lack of professionalism. If I used «offensive language», why didn’t Mark say anything about it when I emailed him as soon as Harry walked away? Why didn’t Harry say anything? He was copied on the emails I sent Mark. Why was Mark still offering to send TJ the next day??? Why was TJ calling 5 days later still claiming to want to fix my AC? It makes no sense because it didn’t happen and was completely made up several days later because they didn’t like that I filed a BBB complaint against them. I have given this company enough of my time and at least two opportunities to provide «exceptional customer service». Don’t let the A+ BBB rating fool you. Everyone associated with this company is rude, unprofessional, and disrespectful.

As a real estate agent — it’s imperative to have good people to refer. TJ was referred to me by one of my fellow trusted agents, and after 2 years, he’s been to my home, and has served many of my customers. You normally get what you pay for ~ in this case you get more. Reliable, timely, friendly service you can trust. I wish all trade workers were like TJ.

We cannot say enough good things about BMS HVAC/​R and Harry and his crew. Our HVAC system needed replacing so we started the tedious task of calling out for estimates and reviewing numerous companies. Harry impressed us from the beginning with his professionalism and knowledge of what unit we specifically needed for our home. Other companies tried to tell us we needed to upgrade the size of our AC unit, but Harry explained that was not needed. He also explained our unit needed to be moved out from under our deck where it would receive more airflow. No other company explained this to us. Though their quote was affordable for us, it certainly did not compromise on quality of installation or the professionalism of BMS. On the day of install, installers were actually early and took their time to make sure everything was installed correctly. Harry showed my husband exactly how to use the thermostat and how to use the system and filter. Later that night we smelled remnants of gas from when they replaced the system but they even came out during peak traffic time in order to make sure nothing was leaking and the system was installed correctly and our home would be safe. We would not hesitate to use BMS HVAC/​R for any other home project. In fact we need our water heater replaced soon and they will be the first we will call! We would recommend BMS HVAC/​R to our friends and family based on our wonderful experience!

I wanted to express how satisfied we were with our recent business transaction. After a wonderful vacation spent out of town, we came home to a sweltering home (100 degrees inside) on July 30. It was apparent that our entire HVAC system was going to need replacing after 23 years of heating and air conditioning our home. We spent several days researching government websites, talking to neighbors and friends, scouring energy star websites and
blogs before narrowing the choices down to 3 local companies. Monday, August 1, BMS was the first to respond to our call as well as the first company to come on site for an estimate. Harry was efficient, patient, and friendly as we interrogated him with all of our questions regarding his company, Trane units, and his work. We were so impressed with Harry, the system he put together for us, and the cost, that we assigned the job to him on the spot. Thursday, Harry arrived in the morning with a wonderful crew that included T.J., Mike, and Josh. They were all professional, hard working, thoughtful, and extremely clean. Harry took the time to teach us how to use our new system as well as the new thermostat. It works flawlessly as we watched the temperature lower from 90 degrees when the unit was installed to 75 degrees within 4 hours! We are thoroughly impressed with your company from the initial response to the finished product. We can’t say enough good things about your company and will continue to spread the good word to all of our friends, family, and neighbors. You have a customer for life!

This company seems to have a standard charge for each visit. In early May they came out on a Sunday when my A/​C was not cooling, 90-​minutes later it worked and they said they cleaned the coil and told me to change the filter for $ 349 (that was with a $ 40 discount I was told) Initially I thought Sunday premium I’m not hot anymore so okay, but still felt screwed. 6-​weeks later same problem, I call them and discuss issue over the phone, tell them that they had been out 6-​weeks ago, it is diagnosed over the phone as a «freon leak» and I am told it will be $ 389. This is on a friday, during the day so that Sunday premium argument I made 6-​weeks ago to make myself feel better goes out the window. I google A/​C repair and get A-​1 Heating and A/​C Service in Woodbridge… WOW! The guy made it out by 5 p.m. (I called at 1) and charged me $ 202. to replace a capacitor. I am beyond grateful and will try to push A-​1 at any opportunity, on BMS in Haymarket you have been warned. If you have an extra $ 389. lying around feel free to call them.
