I needed a basic alarm for a work truck. Jay gave me a quote over the phone that was about 25% lower than anybody I’d contacted. Showed up the next morning to drop the truck off. Jay greeted me immediately and was very affable. To echo what some have already said, he talked to me like we were lifelong friends. He was very professional and I felt very comfortable leaving my truck.
Work was done within half a day. He installed a Viper 3105V Security System. When I came to pick up the truck he personally explained what work was done, the minutiae of the alarm system and what to do in case of an emergency.
A week has past and no issues. I feel very content bringing future business to Prairie Auto Security and Sound.

I worked with Jay to install an alarm and GPS tracker in my new truck after a break-​in attempt. He was really sweet, taking the time to explain different options and very upfront about costs (which I feel were extremely reasonable). Once my car security was installed, he walked me through how it worked and it’s been smooth sailing so far. I’m very happy with the system and with the business. I’d rather go to a local small business who take the time to do my work right than to pay more at a generic big box place down the street and don’t know my name when I call.

This place is great! I purchased a dash cam online and had it installed here today. The camera that I brought had both a front and a back camera with plenty of wires, but they mounted it perfectly in such a way that all the wires were concealed! The whole installation process took about an hour and a half which I didn’t mind when waiting as all the workers there were very friendly and courteous, recurrently asking me if I would like any coffee or water. After my camera was all hooked up, Jay adjusted the settings on the camera monitor to make sure everything was perfect for me (which I really appreciated). The service here is incredible, these guys are definitely dedicated to customer service. The cost was also very inexpensive for the quality of their work. I recommend this place 100%. I brought in my 1987 Jeep Wrangler a couple weeks ago just to get quoted on wiring up some speakers to this old thing, he gave a me a really cheap price and an appointment for the very next day. I had previously gone to another shop that is on 132^nd and prairie and they were trying to charge me nearly double what these guys were charging.
When I went the next day jay was there and he talked to me about getting my car buffed, he brought in one of his guys who buffs out car paint and actually charged me less than what we had agreed on because it did not come out to HIS standards.
I recommend this place to anyone and everyone

Stop trying to sugar coat the situation Jay. You know it didn’t go down like that. Bottom line, you wont ever see me there again and i will definitely not refer anyone to your shop. Even your workers talk down on your shop. That says alot.

***Update: After 3 wks of trying to get my tint done right I have to unfortunately revise my review to 2 stars. Originally I thought the job was indeed good, but after carefully inspection after the rain I saw that there were several bubbles and lines in the tint. I contacted the owner and he was very helpful in attempting to address the issue and seemed concerned that the job was not grade A. I took my car bk and left for 8 hrs to find similar issues with the next job. I contacted the owner and took my car bk again and again and for the the life of me I do not understand why I still have small scratches throughout my windows. So, after 16 hrs over 3 Saturdays the tint job is mediocre at best and bad if you consider the amount of time that was taken to correct the issues. The only reason why I am giving 2 stars is because Jay the owner made attempts to correct the issues and was actually cool. I just do not like the work that was done. FYI– I have a mid size BMW which should not be a major issue to get tint applied to as I have gotten tint on a larger BMW w/​no issues. Nevertheless I will unfortunately have to take my car elsewhere to get the tint fixed or reapplied– SMH

My husband and I have been wanting to get our windows tinted for some time. I asked around for recommendations and this place was on the top of the list. Jay was so helpful and honest through the process. He showed us the options and gave his recommendations. It only took a few hours and we’ve been so happy since. The price was very reasonable, staff were friendly, location was convenient with easy parking, time estimates were spot on, and quality has been awesome. We will definitely be back for tinting on any other car (or maybe some bluetooth installation) and I’ve already recommended them to a family member. Thanks JAY!

Listen, I know nothing about car stereos and installation. but I bought a new work van and it needed bluetooth, a stereo and some kind of back up system to help me with parking. I reached out to many shops here on Unilocal and the only people that got back to me was Jay over at Prairie. Jay has been in business for over 20 years — he knows his stuff. I did my homework on pricing and he was not only in line with others, but on the cheaper side. The workmanship was impeccable, I got everything I wanted for a fair price. His guys are top notch. Jay sat with me and taught me how to use the systems and even while being serviced, dropped me off at a starbucks to work and wait for the car to get repaired. It was a first class experience and the sound system is INSANE! I would highly recommend them for any car audio or security needs!

Prairie Auto Security & Sound is the most reliable auto stereo and tint shop that I have found in the area. I have had several cars stereos installed and several cars fitted with tints and I have been very satisfied with the workmanship and the service. The shop is owned by Mr. Park. He’s very friendly and helpful with picking the right system for your car.
They are located right on Prairie Ave. in a Auto Service strip mall.

I have a 2008 avalanche that got broken into on my birthday I know all bad. They popped the lock out the door got in a flaw in the trucks door. Anyways I found this thing that stops all that called Jimmie jammers. And jay installs it. But outside of all that it was the best experience I had at any service shop. If u got a chevy or ford U NEED THIS FOR YOUR TRUCK ASAP!

Jay you are the man, great job installing my kenwood DNX890 hd. Very clean work and he made sure everything worked with me before I left. Will be headed back for my window tint. And possible a full audio system. Very glad Donald recommended me.

I recently went back to have Jay and his team replace my entire system. WOW, what a great job they did. I had them replace all of my speakers and my amp in the 68 camaro. I also had them install dynomat in the doors and trunk. Grade A work. good stuff. Will definitely be back. I am also going to have them install LED’s on my prius. Give them a try if you are in the market for a new stereo or alarm. You wont disappointed.

Great service. Needed two replacement car key fobs (one was broke and the other was lost). Rather than simply sell me two, Jay repaired the broken one, and custom fit another to match the original.
Result — — then charged me less and I will be back for work on my stereo. Awesome!
