I found Dr. Sehdeva through my insurance website. I went in for a pap and it was the most painful and uncomfortable experience I’ve ever had with an exam. I bleed during and after the exam. I’ve had spotting between periods before but hadn’t in over a year so I was a bit concerned and the doctor told me to schedule a biopsy. This was again the worst experience I’ve ever had. The doctor is not gentle at all with exams, you can feel everything she’s doing and when I got upset she told me that this exam doesn’t hurt and did nothing to help me relax! The facilities are old and dingy and I’m also concerned about the cleanliness. The nurse cleaned her ears with a Q-​tip during my exam, and touched the ear wax without wearing gloves. I hate to be so graphic but I feel this describes the level of unprofessionalism I’ve experienced. After reading these reviews I’m almost convinced the doctor caused some sort of infection and I am switching doctors.

I was pleased with Dr. Sehdeva after using her for several years. Let me preference that I am healthy and have not had a baby. So my experience is just my annual exam and an occasional flu. Maybe my opinion would be different if I had major dealings wi her.
Wait-​Time:
The Hawthorne office gets packed and is minimum an hour wait. The Marina del Rey office has a much shorter wait. She takes a lot of various insurance plans which is one reason there is a wait. There were always a lot of pregnant women in the waiting room.
Office:
The staff is fine. I find them to be very busy so they don’t have time to baby everyone. The office is in need of a renovation.
Dr.
The first time she walked in I was taken back. She is a 77 year old Indian grandma with grey hair in a bun and glasses on the end of her nose. Don’t be fooled. She is not a sweet, lovey grandma, there to hold your hand and answer dumb questions with a smile. She is no nonsense, but knows what she is doing. I believe a lot of the negative reviews are from ladies who are not comfortable with a matter-​of-​fact doctor. I felt comfortable asking her questions and she always had intelligent responses and she added her opinions when I asked. I thought she was nice. No she is not bubbly, smiley nice. She was professional. She has seen a lot of women and a lot of pregnant women. You can’t deny she knows what she is doing. Nothing you are growing through she hasn’t seen a million times. If I was having a baby I want my gyno to be experienced and calm like her.

Eek! Methinks not. It’s pretty bad. I won’t be back. I absolutely hate to give bad reviews… but, it is what it is.

THIS PLACE DESERVES NO STARS!!! There is only one person there that understood my needs. She was a hispanic w an acsent. I loved her great personality. Now as for the rest of the staff they were all rude and the sedva was hard to understand. When i got my first pap there i bleed for a week straight… wtf is that. My new Obgy never made me bleed. I hate this place it takes forrrever. They also lost my blood samples (phobia of needles) i was pissed! I had to come back wait and hope they wouldnt do it again. If u have the option dont go to doc sedva. As for the sweet lady i hope she finds a better work place i feel bad that she has to work there.

I will never, never in a million years would go back to this Dr. I’m sorry but she should not call her self a OBGYN.

For the past six years I had been a patient of Dr. Sehdeva with general checkups for pap smears and as a PCP. I had no problems with this care until I became pregnant and «real» care was needed on my preferred terms.
During my pregnancy I felt like I had to be «my own doctor» at times with myself asking for lab values and answers to certain questions that were unanwerred or not further researched due to interest.
About 7 months into my pregnancy I asked Dr. Sehdeva about a doula as I am a single mother and doing EVERYTHING by myself and NEED further support. She was NOT supportive and said «why would you want to do that», «I had a bad experience and they tell me what to do». I said that they would be there for me and not you, however, she did not care.
So, in my 9^th month of prenancy I did get a doula and made my birth plan for the doctor to review. I took the plan in for her review and asked for us to do this. Her comment was again «why did you do that» in a very negative manner. The nurses are there isf you need help” I said that I want to do everything naturally and she said «you do know you will be in a lot of pain, right?» I then went over my birth plan to go over my wishes and at the end I asker her if she wanted a copy and she said «NO, I ALREADY KNOW WHAT TO DO». I was in awe after she said this! That is so rude and unprofessional! This made me feel awful… and during my nine months of regnancy alone. :(Her behavior was selfish, nonempathetic and uncompassionate as a doctor and person! I kept my composure in a professional manner still «respecting» her and left the office crying and felt alone. A professional doctor should not provide that energy promoting negative feelings, especially pregnant women.
Thus, I called my insurance, went to another doctor whom followed my plan with explnations of risks with compassion and empathy for my and any possible situation… he worked with me and my delivery (on 5.8.13) was awesome! :) I was so happy! I took the chance two weeks before I actually delivered with focus of my baby being delivered in a POSITIVE environment and hands from a POSITIVE person holding her first as she arrived in this world.
Then, after she knew about me switching (because she had to give records) she called me and was being «nicer». I talked with her in a professional manner and said no thank you and thank you for your services. When I talked with the Dr. I switched too they stated I was the second person this week that this happened to. Coi​ci​dence​.no.
If you are looking for a doctor who wants to do things her way no matter what then she is perfect for you. Highly suggest ask her many questions and go over what your personal needs are before making the choice to have her as your OBGYN and PCP. Goodluck if you continue to stay with her. She needs an attitude adjustment. Based on my experience during my pregnancy if I could score zero then that is my choice.

I have a lot of experience with doctors and Dr. Sehdeva is probably one of the worst doctors I have ever encountered. Unprofessional, medically incompetent, unresponsive and lacking compassion for the patients in her care. She does not keep up to date accurate patient charts and therefore forgets what she has recommended, prescribed or discussed with you. Her office is dirty and uncomfortable. I’m pretty certain I could get better care in the back alley of a 7 – 11 downtown.

Um unprofessional and not knowledgeable of anything! I’ll not go into the deep details that I could talk about for days (like not wearing rubber gloves during my exam and not keeping the exam room door SHUT during my exam!!), but I will tell anyone reading to PLEASE not waste your time (or risk your health) going here! I’ve never seen a more outdated office with a surgical lamp that didn’t work or exam equipment sitting out in a canister collecting dust (not proven to have been disinfected) or a 100 year old doctor that couldn’t explain or answer simple health questions. Save your time, immune system and money and go elsewhere!

If I could give zero stars, I would.
Honestly, I feel guilty giving such a bad review (I know she is someone’s mother, she has photos of her child/​ren everywhere) but I don’t want others to go through what I did. I’ll keep this relatively brief.
1. My questions were not answered, I had to google after my visit. Not a good sign.
2. Overly concerned with blood pressure, really pushed meds when I do not typically have high BP unless at a doctor’s office (term is White Coat Syndrome). This could be dangerous.
3. No courtesy knock from doctor or nurses when entering the exam room. I was literally in the middle of my exam when a random person walked in. I had not been introduced to her, I did not know she was a nurse. I’m still not certain.
4. I felt the equipment and procedures when it came to sampling were improper.
5. They rescheduled my appointment with less than 2 hours notice. I had already taken the day off work. I get no confirmation call before my second appointment so I call them and they confirm the date with me. I show up for said appointment (again, taking a day off work unpaid) and they said the doctor was not in on that day and they that had given me the wrong day. No reimbursement for parking fees.
6. I show up for my THIRD appointment and I am left to wait for 55 minutes before the doctor arrived to the office. I am the only patient (for obvious reasons, I suppose). All the while, I am being charged for parking in the pathetic parking lot outside. You should never, ever visit this doctor in Marina del Rey but know that if you do not heed my advice, park at Panera and walk ½ a block.
7. Very insensitive and abrupt on the phone.
I could go on. And on.

I was new to the area and needed a new doctor so I found Dr. Sehdeva on the Aetna website. I really just needed to have my prescription refilled so a routine exam was all I scheduled my appointment for.
I was rushing to get to the office since I went on my lunch break. First thing they tell me is that I have high blood pressure (I was a 23 year old, daily runner who ate well and have no family history of the disease).
The exam itself was torture. Not to be mean, but she needs to retire. Her office is dated and her staff is rude.
After the exam she wouldn’t write me my prescription because of my «high blood pressure», wrote me a one month prescription for a different medicine and then told me I had to come back next month for a refill and exam check up because of my blood pressure.
I went back the following month because I needed the prescription and all they did was take my blood pressure. A few days later I get a large bill in the mail for all the «services» they performed by checking my blood pressure.
Dr. Sehdeva also wrote me a prescription for high blood pressure without getting any history or background on me. When I took it the pharmacist he took my blood pressure, which was fine, and told me not to fill the prescription (since it was very dangerous to take that type of medication if you don’t actually have high blood pressure).
The final time I went back to see Dr. Sehdeva, I noticed another girl about my age who looked healthy and who was coming in to just get her blood pressure checked. Interesting isn’t it?

I’m writing this review assuming this is the same Dr I saw in the Marina.
Please, please, please do not see this doctor. My family consists of medical professionals. They were all 100% horrified by what happened at my appointment.
1. I called to make an appointment (she’s my PCP via my crap HMO) the Thursday BEFORE July 4^th. I never heard back from them for more than a week. I called to schedule an appointment the next week. I pointed out that no one had called me back and that I had been in need of seeing a doctor for my congestion for weeks. They said nothing.
2. She’s an OB-​GYN! And really knew NOTHING about my congestion. She looked in my nose and said «it’s red».
3. This was after my pap smear. She couldn’t perform the pap smear correctly at all. I will not go into details on such a public forum, but i’m 30 years old. I’ve seen multiple ob gyns, and i’m HORRIFIED by what happened during my exam. And i bled for 2 days afterward.
4. She answered her cell phone while doing my exam.
5. She wrote prescriptions for dosages that are not sold. For example 60 mg, when the pills come in either 25 mg or 50 mg.
6. She snapped at me when i didn’t understand her question.
7. While doing my exam, she asked «are you a virgin» and then «have you had a baby,» before i even responded to the first question. How could ONE be possible if the OTHER one is?! And she should be able to tell by the position she’s in.
8. She did not seem to understand my very common hormone disorder, PCOS. She wanted to run tests that had nothing to do with my disorder.
I have never been more upset leaving a doctor’s appointment. awful.
