As good as they say. The pasta dish I had from the menu was fantastic and really full of garlic flavor. It was with broccoli rabe and sausage. My wife had the linguine with white clam sauce and said it was better than that she had recently at Carmine’s in Manhattan. We liked, but did not love, our appetizer, a special called the Three Amici with clams, shrimp and stuffed mushrooms in a lemon butter sauce. I will definitely come back to try some fish dishes and specials — and dessert. The service was good. We arrived at 8:45pm on a weeknight and they seated us and did not rush us out of there, though we didn’t linger either.

I frequently dine at Justin’s. I have always enjoyed the food as well as the service the staff provide. It’s a BYOBSOBRING A BOTTLEANDENJOY! I don’t like giving out Five Star’s but my quest last night enjoyed themselves so much they still calling me and thanking me for bringing them here.

Had a Christmas party here for a party of 10. The place is small so it will be crowded, however it is very much worth the wait. The food was incredible. Lot’s on the menu and the specials of the day were out of this world. Our waiter provided great service and was very entertaining. Making it even better is it is a BYOB! Will come back here again for sure.

Last Friday I had the opportunity to try out a new Italian BYOB restaurant, Justin’s Restaurant. My mother had received a credit voucher to Justin’s as a gift from a fellow Sicilian that had nothing but positive things to say about the food here so I was excited to give it a shot. The restaurant has a strange split-layout, it is on a strip on Lafayette Avenue in Hawthorne and this split into two sides, it almost seems as though it was initially one side and was expanded to another storefront due to popularity at some point in time. The décor is dated, old-school style, and has a family type atmosphere overall. The restaurant was filled with what appeared to be mainly Italian old-timers which in my experience is generally a good indicator that the food will be up to par. Fast-forward to the important part, the food… For appetizers we ordered an eggplant rollatini type dish, and their house made mozzarella salad. For my entrée I ordered one their specials the filet mignon wrapped in bacon topped with a mushroom wine sauce. The eggplant was definitely above average, however the house crafted mozzarella was absolutely outstanding; It was definitely some of the best I have had. Although I generally stick to ordering steak in steakhouses I found their filet mignon offering to be completely acceptable, cooked to specification, and the mignon free of imperfections. They also had an impressive dessert selection much to the delight of my mother. Overall, considering their fair prices and above average quality of food combined with the family style décor(although somewhat dated and irregular) I’ll rate them a solid 4-stars. This would be a good place to try out with your Italian grandparents if you’re tired of the same old Italian restaurants on your list.

I found the pre fixe menu very reasonable. The portions worked for me but comments at the table were that they could spare a tad bit more on the plate. The stuffed mushrooms, salad, and crusted salmon was delish! The seating is tight. The lighting and ambiance was good. The servers could also stand to be more polite about reaching around you.

Cute place, pretty good Italian food and reasonable prices. If you come for early dinner(i believe before 6), you can get appetizer and entrée for only 20 bucks!(dessert might be included too, but I can’t remember). Not open Mondays.

Food was good. Not great. Not bad but not 5 star. My son had the chicken Parmesan which was tender and a nice portion but a very very small portion of pasta. Came with a nice small salad. I had the veal portobellos. I found the sauce a tad too salty and the veal so pounded it was almost all separated. Not horrible but I have definitely had better. My husband had the salmon and his portion was small. Very well done and it came with Broccoli rabe which was really bad. It was all stems and they were unedible. Not even the slightest bit cooked and if you cut the leaves off you had nothing. I have been to much better Italian restaurants. Don’t think I will go back there. Service was good.

I love this place! My husband and I have been here on a date night and we have hosted a private party too. Food and service are excellent and being a BYO establishment is just an added bonus. I would def recommend to anyone looking for authentic Italian food.

Food is great and in the 20 – 25 times I’ve eaten here, so is the service. However, where my review differs is that we did a 50th wedding anniversary for my parents here for about 60 people. Manny could not have been more accommodating. We had the entire left side of the restaurant and even brought in a musician for the afternoon. Again, food was great and service attentive. Shockingly, when we got the bill, Manny insisted that he overcharged us and would not accept full price for the kids. It ended up costing me less than we agreed upon and we could not have been happier. Highly recommended.

Really great food. My only concern here is always the service. Have to constantly go and get someone to help us when we need to order, or need the table cleared, or need refilled water. Would give it the 4th star if the service could be fixed. Food is pretty good.

We have been around to a lot of Italian restaurants in the area but we consider this«our place». The food is consistently excellent, the prices are great, Manny the owner treats you like family. Hands down my favorite restaurant in The area!

My boyfriend and I were looking for a BYOB restaurant nearby and Justin’s was the closest so that’s why we decided to go here. We were seated in a cozy dining room and didn’t have to wait long at all considering it was nearly 6pm on a Friday night. The nearby seats quickly filled up, with a much older crowd. Our waiter came by and read off the menu specials. We decided on each going with a prix fix dinner, for $ 20 you get an appetizer, soup or salad, dinner entrée, and dessert. We did have a few questions, though, and I must say he wasn’t very friendly. Unfortunately we didn’t catch his name, but if anything he made our dinner at Justin’s less enjoyable. Our food was delicious and plentiful. There was a stuffed chicken special that I wouldn’t recommend though. It was chicken, stuffed with ricotta, spinach, and I believe sun dried tomatoes, in a champagne sauce. It sounds better than it tastes, but it wasn’t awful. Overall I would go back to Justin’s again and I’m glad we gave it a try.

Justin’s has an awesome early bird special if you get there before 6 pm. For $ 20 you get an appetizer, soup or salad, entrée, coffee, and dessert. It’s also a byob so you really can’t beat this deal. The portions are huge and the food is delicious. I got the mussels in white sauce, house salad, sesame salmon, coffee, and strawberry ice cream. Everyone I was with got a different appetizer so we were able to share and everything was fantastic. The sauce on the mussels was amazing. We finished every drop with the bread they gave us. The sesame salmon was great too. It came with sautéed spinach and these really good cheesy potatoes. I can’t wait to go back!

Cute BYOB place on main street in Hawthorne. Everything we tried was delicious and service was very attentive. The inside isn’t the fanciest place in the world, but it does has that old world«going to grandma’s for supper» feel. There seemed to be a lot of early bird diners in the front room.

Went for my best friends birthday dinner and had a great meal. The seafood bisque was amazing and my chicken parm was delicious. Our waitress was the sweetest woman and was very attentive and knowledgable about the menu and specials. The only thing that could use some work is the amount of space to move around but it in no way affected my enjoyment of my meal.

Just as other reviewers have stated already. No reception area, which was annoying bc I was standing in front of a door that kept opening after a snowstorm. Secondly, we waited by the door for a good ten minutes before anyone acknowledged us standing there. There are two main rooms, we were a party of 8 with a reservation. We had to wait another 5 minutes for a table to be put together for us. So after all that we finally sat to a very crunched table. Our waitress Virginia, came over right away and was very attentive. She told us all the specials, which all sounded amaze balls btw. They then brought fresh hot bread and kalamata olives… For appetizers we ordered the fried calamari and mozzarella spedini. Both were delish. For my entrée I got the chicken parmigane. The sauce was perfect. I’m a big critic of a good or bad sauce, I’m sicilan after all. So anyways the food was great but the atmospheres was not much to be desired. Overall, set up a reception area maybe with a bench, space the tables a little farther apart and we’ll be good…

Had dinner with my parents we were visiting and they raved about the food. The food was very good but the service on Saturday night at 6:00 was horrible. Took 20 minutes for our waiter to come over and he stumbled through the specials missing one that I later heard him tell the table next to us. No one asked how our food was and we sat with empty plates and forks down for 20 minutes before we asked for the check. Walked past our waiter on the way out and he didn’t say anything as we walked past him. No thank you, come again or even a have a nice night, just an averted gaze. Food is good but I’ll go elsewhere where they appreciate my business next time.

We came here for my mom’s birthday. The staff was very accommodating for a large group with no reservation. It’s BYOB which is perfect because we brought 4 or 5 bottles of our homemade wine that happened to go perfectly with our meal. The food was very good — your typical Italian cuisine menu with pastas and sauces galore. I got linguini with red clam sauce. My dish was actually just okay when compared to everyone else’s dishes which were all above average. All the meats were very tasty and cooked well, as were the fish. I can’t recall the names of all the dishes, but overall, the place was great.
