I recently went to get an eye exam and loved this place! The staff was super friendly and professional. Definitely recommend going here. Marissa took care of me and I absolutely love my new ray bans. She was so knowledgeable with what my insurance covered and I even got some of my glasses covered through my insurance.

I am highly satisfied with the service, I was referred to this office by a co worker of mine who was also satisfied with her glasses. She had mentioned that the staff was great at picking glasses for your face shape. I always struggled to find a great fit and since I needed new glasses I gave it a shot. I always picked grandma looking frames so I know I needed the help.
Upon arriving the front desk staff was great, I didn’t wait much. I was seen by dr. Flores, she was very informative. I am a diabetic so she took a very thorough examination of my eyes, she let me know everything was fine but gave me advice as too how to care for my vision with a condition like diabetes.
Soon afterward I went to speak with their certified optician, she was very friendly, I believe her name was Marisa. She was great! She helped me pick out a set of frames that was compatible with my face. She too was detailed and offered me options for the quality of my glasses, I got anti glare and scratch resistance, when I picked up my glasses I also got a nifty box to keep them in and a spray to keep them clean. She was able to adjust them so that they felt sturdy and comfortable on my face.
I am highly pleased at the service from this location, I will definitely be getting another pair of glasses here again!

My father went to Dr. Brar based on a referral. Dr. Brar’s staff was super friendly. Dr. Brar was very professional and took the time to explain to me in length about the cataract procedure. the operation went extremely well and my father could not be any happier.

Dr. Brar is great! My girlfriend Ivy has been wearing glasses for as long as she can remember. She had Dr. Brar operate on her and now she’s finally glasses free. What I liked about Dr. Brar is that he made us feel very secure and safe. He walked us through the entire process letting us know what to expect. Its very nerve wrecking to have someone operate on your eyes, but he and his staff did such a wonderful job at making us feel comfortable. Thank you Dr. Brar! we greatly appreciate all you’ve done for us!

This office does not even deserve this one star rating. Sylvia the receptionist is rude. I asked for a business card and she through it down on the counter. Sylvia, you choose to work in the public service field, therefore you need some etiquette training so you can have the proper knowledge to provide better customer service to others. Dr. Brar falsified documents for a patient stating things she did not tell him and sent it to her primary physician. If you choose to receive services from this office, ask for a visit summary because they do not give them to you like other offices. I would never recommend this place.

As someone who has been wrestling with serious myopia (–8.5 and –10 diopters) since he was 13 years old (almost 53 at the time of this writing), I have seen many optometrists and ophthalmologists in my lifetime. In 2007-​08 alone, I had consultations with 9 refractive surgeons in greater Los Angeles to get their opinions on fixing my myopia (I was a borderline candidate for Lasik, so some docs were saying «Do Lasik», others «No, the Visian ICL is for you», hence my confusion and desire to get a lot of opinions).
Eventually, I decided to go with the Visian ICL (NOT done by Dr. Brar). The results were great for 2.5 years, but ultimately the ICLs caused cataracts. In December 2011, my HMO sent me to a Beverly Hills refractive surgeon to do my cataract surgery. He wanted to upsell me on fancy IOLs (artificial lenses that replace your eyes natural lenses) that I didn’t need, but that would have cost me an extra $ 6500 out-​of-​pocket. When I told that doctor that I was having second thoughts and wanted to go with ‘regular’ IOLs (and use post-​op Lasik to do the ‘touch-​up’ work that the fancy IOLs would have allegedly done), his office stopped returning my calls.
Long story, short: I gave up on that Beverly Hills doctor and, in March 2012, went to the Torrance office of nVision. That’s where I met Dr. Brar. I got a really good feeling about him at the initial consultation, as he
(a) dismissed the ‘need’ for the fancy (and expensive, w/​extra out-​of-​pocket cost) accommodating and multi-​focal IOLs that the Beverly Hills doctor had pushed
(b) warned me about the unpredictability of those accommodating and multi-​focal IOLs
© said that all I needed were regular IOLs (which are also the cheapest)
From there it was a few short weeks until I had two separate out-​patient surgeries (no reputable doctor does cataract surgery on both eyes on the same day) by Dr. Brar at the South Bay Surgical Center (a stones throw from nVision’s Torrance office), and the results have been the best vision I’ve ever had in my life with no complications and no pain. Just as importantly, Dr. Brar has a quiet confidence about him and an unmistakable sense of doing what is best for the patient. I’d had the pre-​op jitters before my ICL surgery in 2008 (again, NOT done by Dr. Brar), but none of that when I had my cataracts done by Dr. Brar. He knows what the heck he’s doing, and you can sense it. .. all without any arrogance or bragging on his part.
Dr. Brar is hands down the best refractive surgeon I’ve seen, and I recommend him without reservation.
As a side note, I am bewildered by some of the negative reviews I’ve read here. Some of them even seem as if they might be Stealth de-​Marketeering (who goes to an ophthalmologist (M.D.) for contact lenses, when a much less expensive optometrist (O.D.) will do fine?). If you need proof that I’m a real patient — and NOT a Stealth Marketeer — I hereby offer photos of my IOL cards:

I am not reviewing them on their medical service, I am reviewing them on their office staff. I was receiving repeated fax tone calls and called their office to ask them to take me off of their list. After asking the receptionist for assurances that this would be done, she purposely hung up on me in the middle of me talking. I could not believe a medical office staff would be so unprofessional. I called the Office Manager and she told me she will handle it. But it makes you wonder if the staff would just hang up on a caller, how do they treat their patients and run their practice? I needed a new eye doctor but I definitely won’t be going here.

Worse service EVER!!! Scheduled a contact lens exam only as I had just had a comprehensive eye exam the week before through Kaiser. Well apparently they screwed up by giving me a comprehensive eye exam without my knowledge & then trying to bill me for it!!! Not to mention the doctor did not even fit me for my lenses he just asked for my measurements from my expired prescription. First & last time I will go to this doctor!
