Abbey Carpet & Floor

The folks at Abbey were so kind and helpful to me. Despite having a very small tiling project, they gave me excellent service and attention. Unlike some other local tile shops. They were even kind enough to refer me to their competition to purchase my grout because it was not currently in stock. If customer service matters to you, shop at Abbey!

We belong to a facebook group where we can post requests for recommendations within our community. My wife and I asked if anyone had any experience with local flooring professionals for re-​staining our oak floors. A woman by the name of Shari responded by saying that her family business, Abbey Carpet and Floors was local and would be happy to give us a quote.
A few days later, Duane, a store manager, came by our house and gave us a quote. He was professional, friendly, and genuine. His quote was also about 25% lower than the average quotes we’d received up until that point.
A few months later, we picked a color, arranged a time for the work, relocated the furniture (a service that was offered to us by Duane) and we moved out of the house.
The work was done well and on time. The floors received 3 coats of polyurethane and the color was exactly the way we’d hoped.
We are now currently 6 months out and we’ve noticed a few things:
1. Some of the polyurethane was peeling in the high traffic areas. A bit of conversation with Duane resulted in the problem being addressed.
2. The work is not done by Abbey Carpet and Floor. It is subcontracted out. If an issue arises, the solution needs to be addressed by the subcontractor. Duane does take care of this communication between the customer and the people doing the work.
3. 98% of our floors are perfect. We’ve had no color fading, peeling, or problems. The total area done was about 4000sq feet and I believe that given such an area, it is normal to have some issues here and there. The point that the issues are addressed appropriately is what makes the difference. This company delivers.
4. The stairs and trim could have been masked a little bit better when the job was done. We also found some smears of stain on our wall outlets. I was able to easily clean up everything with some paint and elbow grease over the span of two weekends. No big deal.
Overall, I am very satisfied with this work and feel that the price and final service were examples of true professionals. I’m very happy.
