The Lodge at Woodloch

AMAZING! From the beautiful grounds, to the luxurious accommodations, to the fantastic spa treatments and scrumptious food! I cannot say enough about this experience! I will be back, its a must do at some point in your lifetime!

This spa is my favorite in the country. However, my last too visits have fell short.
I’m not sure if there has been a high turnover of employees or if the quality is being neglected.
My girlfriend and I stayed the night as we have done many times. The problem was in the restaurant.
The service was subpar which I have NEVER experienced there before. The food on the buffet was stale and reused and our food came out cold.
I did mention something and it was «noted».
The next day we experienced the same exact thing.
This is certainly not the standard to which we are used to here!
I hope it was just an off week!

Went for a long weekend girls trip and had a fabulous time! The food is incredible, the rooms are nice and the spa treatments are great! We loved that we could wear our spa robes to breakfast :) can’t wait to plan a trip back!

I don’t know where to begin or end. An awesome time will be had by all. The food was awesome the activities were amazing the amount of things to do was endless. If you want a place to go where you can just relax and just have a very amazing time this is the place to go the food choices are endless.

This place is a great escape from the city. Need some R&R? Come here :)
Had a lot of fun. They have a lush indoor pool, and outdoor infinity pool. The backdrop is something out of a nature postcard. Had a wonderful massage, I think I fell asleep lol
Want something a little more active? They have kayaks on site too! So fun, so peaceful :)

If you want to be treated like royalty, this is the place to go. Top notch customer service was provided from the first greeter by the entrance to the valet when you leave at the end of your trip. The staff were able to assist me with whatever I needed. The meals were excellent and the wait staff kept everything going at a steady pace. The signature Rosemary massage is out of this world and should not be missed. I also had a facial and took advantage of the eucalyptus steam room. The only tiny flaw was that the dessert specials were not that great but that’s ok no one is perfect but this place comes pretty close.

This place is fantastic! It is beautiful, luxurious, and relaxing. The food is delicious and plentiful. The classes are top rate. We love love love Deborah who teaches watercolor and the pen and ink class. She makes everything so easy to learn and you leave with a finished product worthy of framing. The zumba class was such fun and the spa treatments outstanding. I can’t say anything bad about the Lodge at Woodloch. I will be returning.

I wish Unilocal had half stars because really I give this place a 4.5. Here is my rundown:
The main reason I would not give the Lodge 5 stars was because of our check in experience. My mother and I arrived for our 1 night spa getaway at roughly 12:30pm on a Thursday. The valet attendant informed us our room was ready — great! However, the front desk agent said that wasn’t the case. We asked if we could have lunch and she said yes. About an hour later I went over to check on the status and was told they are rushing the room, and it will be about 20 minutes. We had massage appointments at 3pm and she assured me we would have ample time to go to our room prior, so we decided to wait for the room. About 40 minutes later the room still wasn’t ready, and at this stage the agent got quite rude with me indicating that normal check in was 4pm and she told me it would be ready sooner because she was trying to make me happy. I understand how hotels work, and I just wish if she wasn’t confident in the time she told me she just said 4pm. My mom and I probably would have gone to the spa early rather than just wait in the restaurant. Furthermore she didn’t provide us with any information about the resort, the offerings, etc — I had to ask for a map and information. For a luxury spa destination I was really disappointed in this service.
The spa itself was great. I do wish the attendant gave guests a short tour if it was their first time as we sort of had to figure out where everything was, how to get robes, etc but it all worked out. We both enjoyed our massages. I got the hot stone, which I can’t recommend enough — it was fabulous! The facilities were also all very nice.
This resort offers plenty of classes as well ranging from fitness to wine tasting. As we were only there one night we didn’t have time for too much, but did take a nice yoga class.
There was 1 restaurant on property where all meals were included (the only thing not included is alcohol). The food was very good as was the restaurant service. I had osso bucco at dinner was to die for.
I love that everything is all inclusive here, including tips. We couldn’t even tip the bellman! It does make it easier and more relaxing not to worry about $$.
I do want to come back, and I hope I receive better check in service the next time I do.

My sister and I went for two nights and WE ARE ALREADY PLANNING TO GO BACK! The Spa staff: Amy who did my Rosemary Awakening Massage and Lyndsey who did my Moisture Drench facial were amazing! Amy explained all the steps and products prior to starting the massage and let me smell all the oils/​creams she was using on my body before we started. It was my first massage ever (crazy right?) and she made it a wonderful experience. The lodge is almost done with there renovation of the rooms and public spaces so I have added a couple of pics of the guest rooms. The Meditation and Yoga instructors were very supportive of «first-​timers.» Great, delicious food! The only con for me was the dessert specials… Not as great as the ones on their menu. Stick to the menu for dessert!

A group of friends and I came here to for a bachelorette spa day and we had a great experience! We bought the day pass ($ 59 per person) which gives us access to all the amenities. The staff there were incredibly nice and accommodating… it was like entering a different world! I’ve emailed and called them so many times with a lot of questions when I was planning the event for my friends and the staff has always responding promptly and courteously. All the amenities were top notch, relaxing and clean. We even got to walk outside to explore the grounds and the lake nearby. It was gorgeous!!! Woodloch’s spa is above and beyond amazing! I would definitely come back again! Next time I think I would stay at the hotel there, try dining at The Tree restaurant and get a massage! Yes, it can get a little pricey but for those looking for a great spa experience, Woodloch is the place to go!

My wife and I LOVED this place and didn’t want to leave. There are so many activities there at the Lodge at Woodloch spa resort. We tried archery for the first time and needed more time to play. We only stayed for 3 ½ days… we needed at least 5 days. The staff was accommodating and very friendly. There is one waiter who went above and beyond for us. His name is Jordan. Jordan. I just wanted to give you a shout out for your hospitality and due to your recommendation, we have our favorite red wine (justin cabernet sauvignon paso robles). I am not a spa person. But, I had to try the Tension Tamer massage. It was worth the money! My wife was very happy with her facial and reflexology. We did the nature walks and had a Chef demonstration. The manager had even upgraded our room due to our 9^th year wedding anniversary. We highly recommend this place!

I do not have the words to describe how awesome this place is. Just trust me, you need to go.

I can’t even begin to tell you how much I love this place! Words and reviews truly do not do this place justice. Prom the moment you drive in, you’re greeted with a most friendly smile and personal greeting. The car is parked and you do not have to leave until you have to be forced to go home. They’ll take your luggage and lock it away and you can begin the full use of the facility. Don’t forget to start your visit by the chakra bowl. Not that you need a good energy to be here. You just need to be here and everything else just falls into place. The premises are very easily navigable. The gym and spa are at one end and the rooms are at another. I can’t even begin to tell you how clean and kept up at ALL times it is. Each and every time I would go into the ladies room there was never any garbage or in the spa, towels and wash clothes. Spa cuisine is incredible. The menu has not only up healthy choices but vegan, vegetarian and gluten free options. The classes during the day which are not gym oriented are quite the variety. Wine pairing, journal writing, nature excursions to art classes. There really is something for everyone and if you don’t want to do anything, pack your book and head into the Whisper Lounge where they encourage no talking. If that’s not your idea of quiet, sit downstairs on the couch in front of the fire. This is my second time here. Once in the spring and this time the winter. It truly doesn’t matter what season you go because there always is something to do. Or for that matter there is nothing to do if you choose as well. Take advantage of the spa and all the great services! Sauna, hot tub, pool or eucalyptus sauna. Just incredible!

One of the rare places where my reaction is – please don’t change a thing. Excellent variety of mind/​body classes, delightful arts & crafts program, superb food (healthy/​organic w/​full bar/​no deprivation), and impeccable staff (who won’t accept tips!). Plus all kinds of outdoor stuff — hiking, snow shoeing, cross country skiing. Just finished my third visit, along with my mom, for whom it’s number five.

I was told that this past weekend was going to be one of the best spa experiences of my life… and they were rite about that 100%!
The Spa: My boyfriend and I arrived at the spa 15 mins before our 12 o’clock appointments checked in at the courtesy desk and waited for someone to come and show us to our lockers. Once in the woman’s retreat they show you all the amenities they have to offer you: eucalyptus steam room, private showers, sauna, along with indoor hot tub. There is a co-​ed space that is located rite outside the woman’s retreat with a large indoor pool, outdoor hot tub, along with the most amazing water fall hot tub that releases tension while letting the waterfall hit your shoulders and put you into complete and total relaxation. My boyfriend and I decided to use the amenities after our massages and to meet at the pool once we were done. So I sat in the lounge in the woman’s retreat and waited for my name to be called. They have fruit, lemon water and tea in that area that you can help yourself to.
Massage: I chose to get The 50 minute Lodge Massage which is a classic Swedish massage that eases muscle tension using light to medium pressure and aromatherapy of your choice. I had a young lady massaging me that day and she was excellent. She gave me the choice of three aromatherapy oils that were: pine, lavender, and citrus. I chose citrus because I didn’t want to fall asleep and I felt the other scents would put me rite to sleep. She started the massage with me laying face up on the table and gave me an awesome scalp massage to start the ball rolling.
The massage was exceptional but there were a few things that she did that I have never had before that I really enjoyed from the hot towel behind my neck during the scalp massage to the hot towel covering my entire back. The heat was amazing on those areas after she really worked out all my kinks.
After the massage is finished she waits for you outside the door to get dressed in your robe and greets you with a bottle of water. They ask you if you would like to go and sit in the whisper room which I chose not to. Upon leaving my room I saw my boyfriend in front of me exiting his massage room and proceeded to bounce into a wall lol… he must of been so relaxed he was out of it. We both went upstairs to our retreat rooms and got into our bathing suites and met out by the pool and enjoyed the amenities.
I absolutely can’t wait until next year when we come back !

The resort:
From the second we arrived it just kept getting better and better. When we arrived at the gate we gave our names and in the 2 minutes it took us to drive to the main entrance we had a couple of bell hops waiting for us to take our bags to our room. We were ushered to the front desk and without saying a word a paper was waiting for our signature, we were given our tote bags, water bottles, room keys and some other items. I’ve never experienced such a seamless check-​in. The staff is the friendliest, most efficient staff I have ever come across. No matter when or where they passed you by there was always a smile and a ‘how are you doing today’. Everything was clean and comforting. The grounds are beautiful. There are walkways through the woods where you can relax on a hammock or follow the path down to the lake or just take a nice walk. You can even borrow bikes down by the lake and take a ride along the paths.
Rooms:
Are spotless and very comfortable and you never heard any noise from the hallway or your neighbors. The balcony is a lovely spot to enjoy the view. There is a large closet and spacious drawers so you can unpack and settle in. The robes and slippers are a nice touch and were put to good use. They even had a charge port on the nightstand which is genius!
Activities:
The resort offers lots of activities during the day. Walks, yoga, cooking demos, even art classes. All the instructors we experienced were wonderful.
The Spa:
Pure heaven. Robes are found in the lockers and you can request spa slippers from the desk. The women’s retreat includes private shower rooms, sauna, steam room and whirlpool. Coed Spaces include an indoor pool and waterfall Jacuzzi. The space leads outside to a sun deck with lots of chairs as well as an outdoor Jacuzzi. The spa staff is amazing, a dirty towel in the drop baskets were never left for more than a minutes and they were so on top of cleaning the showers after each use. The spa also offers razors, hair dryers, hair products, brushes, nail polisher remover. just about anything you would need. Massages and facials are pure bliss, the technicians are very skilled. After your treatment head to the whisper room for some quiet relaxation. There is water, fruit and nuts for you to enjoy throughout the day to help keep you fueled. The third floor houses the gym and workout studios.
Food:
Tree Restaurant exceeded my expectations. I thoroughly enjoyed every meal I had the pleasure of having there. Breakfast includes menu items like pancakes, omelets and frittatas. There is also a small buffet that has yogurt, fruit, oatmeal, granola and some baked items like croissants and banana bread. Lunch items included turkey or bison burgers, shrimp roll or kale potstickers. The buffet offered salads, turkey wraps and cookies. Dinner was a 4 course menu and always included an amuse bouche. Everything was flavorful and well made and just delicious. Items like crab cakes, crostini, kale Caesar salad, filet mingon, shrimp and grits it was all wonderful. Even desserts like fruit tart, baklava and gelato were fantastic. Tip: Espresso and cappuccino are included for guests staying at the resort. There is even some lovely live music during dinner.
This is the perfect place for a girl’s trip or even a couple’s getaway. I’ve been to many hotels and resorts, even a bunch of spas and I have never experienced anything so perfect. I normally have something that I would suggest in order to make a place better, but at the Lodge, I can’t come up with a single thing, because they have thought of it all.

Our sister weekend at the lodge was as good as it gets. Despite not having booked our massages a month in advance, we got lucky and enjoyed all the activities and and our massages without a hitch. To boot, my 1.5 hour tension tamer massage with Fred was the best massage I’ve ever had. Sorry for drooling, Fred: T
Rooms are spacious and clean with comfy beds but nothing too special. Not that it matters too much how luxurious they were. We found nearly all our time occupied by long, leisurely meals, alternated by outdoor walks, classes, and of course the spa. We didn’t spend much time in the room and didn’t use the shower at all.
The spa was awesome — and best of all not crowded. I hardly ever had to share any of the spaces I was using. Food and service was consistently *excellent* and best of all healthy. The only downside was that this was an extremely expensive stay so save this one for a special occasion.

This review is for the trip I came with my fiancé back in september 2013. When we first entered the gates we were amazed because the entrance was big and a lot of open field. Once we arrived at the front door there was valet parking and someone escorted us to the front desk for check in. The process was simple and quick.
The room was spacious and clean. Also had our own balcony but nothing much to see but trees.
The on site restaurant where food was included with the package was excellent. From food to service, everything was just perfect. When you first arrive at the restaurant, a lady by the computer will greet u and take your name. The menu for breakfast and dinner changes everyday. For breakfast they had stuff like pumpkin pancakes, french toast, and omelette. For lunch there were items like bison burger and pasta. Dinner had filet mignon, salmon, and sea bass.
The activities we signed up for were a foam rolling class, evening kayak, geocaching, and nail class. The foam rolling instructor was very knowledgeable and patient. After that class i loved foam rolling and went home and bought one. The evening kayak was nice. The guide gave a little history lesson and explained the surrounding but towards end because it starting to het dark and cooler there were a lot of mosquitoes. Geocaching was fun but could get dirty and there were a lot of bugs and mosquitoes in the woods. Nail class was ok, fiancé had a free manicure since we were the only ones at the class since she used my fiances hand to demonstrate.
At the spa they had 2 waterfalls. One with more force coming down. Tried both and it was good.
Overall, this became a very relaxing trip and food was good. Would come back again!

I’m giving The Lodge at Woodloch one star for its reservation process.
I booked my massage for today (Sunday) because the person I spoke with on the phone said they had a waiting list for Saturday.
After completing the reservation process, I received an email confirming my appointment, which I didn’t open until an hour before my services. Waiting to review my confirmation email was my mistake, because it turns out that the person I spoke with made my reservations for the wrong date. He made them for Thursday, February 20 instead of Sunday, January 26. :-(
So I called The Lodge and spoke with Sarah to see if I had a reservation for today. I did not. The only reservation for me was the incorrect one for February.
To Sarah’s credit, she offered a way for me to get serviced today, but the wind had already been taken out of my sails. I felt annoyed that I’d spent so much time on the phone with the guy making my reservations only for them to be wrong. Plus, I didn’t want to hear the whole time I’m there: «Oh, she’s a walk-​in,» or «She didn’t have a reservation,» as that would make me feel like I’m not supposed to be there, which would be the antithesis of a destination spa experience.
In the end, I took the mistake as a sign that I should not go. And told Sarah that I won’t be coming today and that she should cancel the February appointment made for me.
Sarah was very apologetic and said that she would tell her manager about the mistake.
Sigh…

This is a spa destination resort, rated as top 10 in the world.
With that said, even though never been an aficionado to spas, (actively exercising is better for you), the spa service at the Lodge was attentive and nice.
They charged me $ 140~ for 50 mins Swedish massage, but that’s ok for someone’s on a vacation, no?
What really made me fall in love with the Lodge was its diverse classes.
I only stayed there for 2 days and 1 night, by myself, fyi. Yep, renting a room with a King size bed at the resort was actually fun and relaxing! Never ever hesitate to go on adventures alone. Because that’s the only way to get things done.
I did 3 paintings (2 sketches, 1 water color), 2 yoga classes, 1 cooking demo class (strawberry Napoleon cake). Painting classes were the highlight.
I also had massage/​sauna and went swimming. The Lodge at Woodloch has the most beautiful swimming pool that I’ve ever been to, even comparing with those 5-​star hotels worldwide. The indoor pool was another lovable factor.
The Tree Restaurant inside the Lodge has at least Michelin 2 star level of food quality and service, exceeding my expectation. I was again blown away.
The stay at Lodge at Woodloch was short but productive, reassuringly down-​to-​earth yet surreal. Such fantastic experience!
