Kona Community Aquatic Center Pool

Free admission, friendly staff, generous hours n reasonable class fees. What’s not to like? Pool’s about 4 feet deep w short-​course lanes (width of pool) readily available. Open weekdays 7−7-ish. Weekends too, although not sure about hours.
Only drawbacks? Mid-​day closure 2−3pm-ish. Solar-​heated hot water in showers that can get used up when pool’s crowded.
But the price is so right n people are friendly! ALOHA!

Would like to give the staff a great review. They do their work and easy to talk. May even lend a hand if possible.
Must say please be careful with you belongings 90 percent of the time nobody will touch your stuff butttttttttt… hahuuuuun bent eye brow.
finale, The basketball gym is right next door with baseball and soccer annnnnd tennis around andddddd horseshoe pit. IE fun and if you have little kids there is a new play place in the same park. oh for those that like to body boarding this park has it plus a beautiful walking path. In a few years the park is gonna get a make over… Senior Center… dog walking path etc… for now it is not a dog park but if you take care most of the time you will not be bothered

I was very impressed with this pool area. It’s a huge, clean, peaceful outdoor space with two huge lap pools and a pool for kids 5 and under. It was awesome swimming outdoors and it’s all completely free. You easily access the pool entrance directly from the parking lot, take a quick shower and hit the pool. There weren’t too many people when I went in the morning, so I had my choice of where I wanted to swim… and had a very wide lap lane all to myself the entire time. I can’t wait to go back tomorrow. Such a fantastic way to start my morning! Highly reccomend for everyone.

Fabulous and FREE!!! I could not believe it when I came to swim laps and found a beautiful community pool that charged nothing at all! Every city and town should have something like this.
I appreciated the clearly designated lap lanes and the cleanliness of the pool was excellent. Friendly lifeguards keep a good eye on things.
Lots of parking. Solar heated warm showers. Senior swimming is scheduled in the mornings when kiddies are in school.
When Ironman comes to town, it is crazy busy here with the triathlon athletes preparing for the big event.
