Went for a couples deep tissue massage. It was amazing. Can’t get over it. We loved the experience and how kind they were to us. We felt like we were new beings after the massage. We both have issues with our upper back and i have problems with my shoulder. After the massage, we couldn’t feel any of the stiffness and soreness we had. I would certainly go back. We decided to make it a monthly thing. So I’m looking forward to it every month now. Hope to get the same level of service. Consistency is so hard to find these days!!!

I really enjoyed my message! I used the coupon and got a deep tissue massage with cupping. It was one of the most reading messages I have ever had. Nina was attentive and asked questions to make sure I was comfortable. I will return!

UPDATE: It has been a year now since I was hypnotized and I AMSTILLONTIME!!! I am SO incredibly grateful to Michelle and Main Line Therapeutic Massage. I have recommended everyone to go there and I know at least 6 people who have gone and been very happy and impressed with their results. I am so fortunate to have found them. Thank you, thank you, thank you! :)

I feel the quality here is slipping. I recently received a massage from Michelle that was half-hearted, at best. It was my third massage at MLTM, and my first(and only) massage from Michelle. My new rating is an average of the three.

I won’t be back… Judge for yourself… My husband gets me giftcards here on occasion for massages. I used to enjoy the massages when another therapist was there. However, when my husband went to get me a gift in July, Michelle told him, if I didn’t use the card he got me in Febuary in the near future the value would be reduced… In less than 6 months? Anyhow, I decided to use the card last week(Aug ’14). I made an appt for 3:30 p.m. on Sat. My fault, I lost track of time and missed the appt! I called immediately at 4:30 p.m. to apologize and ask if I could reschedule. I did notice that there was no message inquiring about my lateness or a reminder the day before. I live 5 mins away. Again my bad. Michelle returned my call to say I could reschedule but unfortunately my gift cards would be void! A more customer centric response could have been… 1) a warning that the gift card would be void if I missed again. Especially since this is 1st incident and she did not attempt to alert me. I could have been there in a quick second. Or 2) a reduction in the value of the cards. Or 3) reschedule me at her convenience during a slow period. Had I been given one of these 3 options I would have been back even though at best it’s was a 3 star service. In the future my money will be spent with more customer centric businesses.

Michelle actually saw me on Christmas eve, she somehow sensed I was struggling, tired and really needing some TLC and she really gave it to me. I had a wonderful organic massage and hands down, Michelle gave me the best hot stone experience I have ever had… it was magic. She also gave me a wonderful facial. When I asked her about the products she used she did not see that as an opportunity to try to sell products to me like many spas but pointed me to products that can do what I liked online. Michelle also does Hypnotherapy that I had not had the opportunity to try but I would really like to next time. She has a calm, compassionate and gentle presense that I really enjoyed.

If your looking for a beautiful spa in a Victorian home setting with reasonable pricing and wonderful service this is it. I have visited Mainline Therapeutic every time during my visit in the Philadelphia area as I was initially referred here by a friend years ago. The massages are to die for and put me to sleep every time. The facials are customized and perfected every time. I am a happy customer and you will not be disappointed :)

So, I went for a series of facials(a gift from someone to me). I hadn’t had a facial in years and was looking forward to it. The first time I went there it was quite nice, the aesthetician was nice and explained everything to me, which was very nice. however on my second trip there they said I had no appointment and if it wasn’t for the card written out in their handwriting, I believe I would have been turned away. On that occasion the same aesthetician could not have been ruder, she never said a word to me, the entire time I was on the table, not to mention she spent about half as much time with me as she had on my first appointment. I almost didn’t go back for the third appointment but because it was already paid for I did go back and despite having a different person it was still only okay. Based on my first experience I would have given them 5 stars, but I can’t do that now

I have to say I was disappointed with my experience after reading such rave reviews here. The location is convenient to those in Upper Darby, Havertown, and surrounding areas. The place is quiet and tastefully decorated – I did like that the front rooms really do look like someone’s home. Roxanne did my actual massage(90 minutes Swedish), and it was just OK. I’ve had a handful of massages before, but this one just didn’t measure up. They were very nice about fitting me in on short notice(but be prepared to play some phone tag.) They take credit cards for payment but not for tips. My masseuse started me facing up, which I actually liked. However, she did some thing where she stretched out my neck, almost at the very begnning, and it was somewhat uncomfortable so be sure to go over any injuries or sensitive spots you have prior to getting started. The room I was in had windows, so it didn’t ever really get dark. That didn’t bother me too much, but if it had been a sunnier day, it might have. Overall, it wasn’t horrible, but I wouldn’t bother getting the 90 minute session again, and I might see if there are any other massage therapists to try. Also, i thought it was strange that the intake form didn’t ask for problem areas or whether I wanted firm pressure, and Roxanne did not ask prior to beginning either. I guess I should have said something but I guess I thought she was just getting warmed up(until it was over, and I realized that that was the pressure used the entire time.) I would go in a pinch(get it? like nerves? haha), but there are too many great places in Philly to tempt me to make this my regular place.

OMG! I just walked out of this place literally floating on air. I walked in 1.5 hours before barely able to move my head with neck spasms and unable to speak coherently because of the pain. Michelle, who owns the place, took me into her capable hands. We went into a spacious, soothingly decorated room — its a large victorian home very tastefully done and not sterile but ultra clean(I am obsessive about that) and she began her magic. Her healing hands literally took me to another place. When my husband came to pick me up, he commented he had never seen me walking so straight and tall and my face looked younger because I looked so relaxed. I’ve had other massages before but never have I felt this good. And reasonably priced as well. I’m hooked. I can’t recommend this place enough. Thank you Michelle!

Trust me when I say this, I have had a LOT of massages in many different places: private businesses, big name spas, start up businesses, hotel gyms, you name it. This is one of the BEST places I’ve ever been to. My masseuse was an older lady who broke my fear of deep tissue massages and introduced me to hot stones(now I can never go back to no hot stones). She went beyond the normal massage and even gave me a head and face massage. She got out my knots and worked out all my sore spots. One of the biggest gripes I have about 1 hour massages is that the actual massage is about 50 minutes while they drag out the first 10 minutes by waiting for you to get changed. I’m done with those cheap groupon massages. Here, she gave me the full hour plus another 10 minutes. I tipped her 30%. I will be back for sure.

I visited Mainline the week before my wedding and the then again the day before my wedding. I tried it because it’s close to my house and I knew I’d save travel time by staying local. A week before my wedding I went for a body scrub and a facial. Both were amazing! The atmosphere of the spa is great too. It’s a home that is transformed and it’s very cozy. The day before my wedding I went back for a massage. That also was great. I was so relaxed I feel asleep. One of the huge perks too are the prices. They are reasonable, especially compared to the salons in the city. I’d certainly recommend this place.
