I stored a bag of clothing in my car that I wanted to donate. I was driving to a grocery store then «stumbled» onto a Goodwill facility in Havertown on West Chester Pike. The outside sign boldly stated, Goodwill Donation Center.
There were oversized boxes with an assortment of clothing in each. A large but gentle man patiently explained that this facility only accepted donations for the Goodwill retail store in Upper Darby. He cheerfully accepted my bagged clothing. When I asked what the center accepted he stated it’s easier to indicate what they didn’t accept — primarily armaments, combustibles, and illegal goods. This facility opened about a year ago.
The Goodwill Donation Center building is at the Llanerch Shopping Center in the building formerly occupied by Blockbuster Video.
