Smoked Beef Brisket; Smoked Pork BBQ, Smoked Chicken, Smoked Pork Ribs, and Smoked Sausage. All meats are dry rubbed and smoked low & slow. Our sweet and tangy red BBQ sauce is served warm and always on the side.
History
Established in 2013.
In a part of the country where BBQ means Pork cooked slow over an open pit, pulled apart, and then chopped with a vinegar sauce mixed right into the meat; non natives to these parts get a shock when they order BBQ from most local restaurants. JJ’s (Pronounced «Double J’s») was started to offer transplants to this side of the country traditional Texas style BBQ. We have since added other BBQ classics to our menu and we serve our take on the local Pork BBQ.
Meet the Business Owner
James P.
Business Owner
James, aka Jim, is a graduate of Havelock High, Class of ’81. He joined the Air Force after graduation and spent 20 years in the service. He married shortly after joining the military and they had two children, a boy and a girl. After the Air Force he worked for a private grade school as the Dean of Boys. He then moved back to ENC and has lived there since. With the help of his son, the two of them decided to open a restaurant featuring their passion for traditional Texas style BBQ. Father and son team, Jim and Jon, are both owners and operators there is always at least one of them there during business hours.
