History

Established in 2014.

Banzai Divers Hawaii was started by divers for divers. All of our guides have had extensive experience with other highly reputable dive centers. Though we all love what we did for these other shops, we felt it could be much better. Many dive shops focus on the high traffic opportunity of island visitors. We saw that without stellar service and the passion for the ocean we have, the customers experience fell short of what Hawaiian diving should be. Now we have the opportunity to share our passion with visitors and locals alike!

Originally from Kansas, I knew there was no place like home. Except home for me was the Ocean!

My dad signed us up for dive lessons for my 13^th birthday at a dive center in Kansas City. I was skeptical, at first, as many are. I had always seen the specials on TV and dreamed of being an Ocean explorer. It’s strange I remember only briefly being in the pool for our first day of lessons, but my first experience in the Open Water was never to forget! Though we were learning in a lake, I was amazed at this new world I’d never seen before! I was instantly hooked.

My first dive in the Ocean quickly followed, in Jamaica. The clear blue waters and abundant marine life was mind numbing. I knew what I wanted to do for the rest of my life!

So, after a few years of poking around in the area lakes and quarries while waiting to graduate high school, I was finally ready. I packed up with my then girlfriend, now wife, and came to Hawaii to pursue my dreams.
