Since 2011, Rock-​N-​Roll University has been a music school for all ages and all levels. Rock-​N-​Roll University’s goal is to equipped it’s student with the skills to pursue their musical ambitions. This performance based rock n roll school provides it’s students with private music lessons which are then applied in a group format through band rehearsals. These efforts culminate in live rock concerts in theaters throughout Long Island.

Using the industry standard for professional studio recordings

«Pro Tools Recording Software»

RnRU will teach students the art of:

— How to record in a project studio environment

— Signal flow processing

— Route to mixing

— Mastering multi track recordings

— Record to disc

Our Master Instructors will teach students how to run and record a full musical session using «Pro Tools Recording Software» to master and record a finalized song demo. This class is great for all musicians who wish to learn how to mix, master and record in a professional studio environment.

Rock-​n– Roll University also serves the special needs community.

Our mission at «Rock-​n-​Roll University in regards to our developmentally disabled students is to serve children and adults with special needs through creative music therapy strategies, group and individual music lessons, workshops and performances.

History

Established in 2011.

Rock-​n-​Roll University was born out of the desire to motivate and inspire our students, children and adults alike to find their inner most creative muse. Through our Live Performance/​Band program it is our hope to bring real world experiences to each and everyone of our students.

Rock and Roll University’s Music Director

Mr.Sly Geralds

Mr. Geralds’ education includes classical bass study at Julliard School with the renowned late Mr. Homer Mensch, electric bass and composition with Tony Cimorosi and electric bass with legendary bassist Stanley Clarke. Sly is a graduate of William Patterson College in Wayne, NJ where he majored in jazz performance under the tutelage of Jazz Masters Rufus Reid and Todd Coolman. Up until taking the position of Musicial director at RnRU Sly was an active member of the faculty at Lincoln Center’s Jazz Apprenticeship Program. Sly has spent the last several years recording and sharing the stage with musical giants such as: Maceo Parker, Al Green, Levon Helm, Richie Havens and Bob Dylan to name a few. Sly has now brought his many years of experience to RnRU. Mr. Geralds is very proud to be involved in a musical community that inspires creativity and excellence.
