Laboratory Testing Inc., (LTI) located outside of Philadelphia, PA, is an accredited, independent laboratory specializing in material testing, nondestructive testing, specimen machining, failure analysis, dimensional inspection and calibration services. LTI is A2LA and Nadcap accredited and compliant with ISO/IEC 17 025, ISO 9001 and ISO 13 485. Testing and calibration results are reported in Certified Reports. Our expertise is in metal testing, polymer testing and analysis of powdered metals, ores, ferroalloys, composites and ceramics. NIST-traceable instrument calibration services for dimensional, pressure, force, torque, electrical, temperature, mass, humidity and vacuum measuring instruments, on-site calibration services and repairs are provided.
History
Established in 1984.
Laboratory Testing Inc. (LTI) has been through many transitions in its 30-year history, and also operated for eight years earlier as Carson NDT, a division of Carson Helicopter. During that time, Lab Testing evolved from a small six-person nondestructive testing laboratory to our current materials testing, nondestructive testing, calibration services and specimen machining business with over one hundred forty-five employees.

Business Owner
Mike McVaugh is president of Laboratory Testing Inc. (LTI), a leader in materials testing, NDT and metrology services. Mike has been with the family-run business since it was started by his father, Robert W. McVaugh Sr, in 1984. Prior to taking over as president of LTI when his father passed away in November 1994, Mike had been the NDT Manager.
In the early years, Laboratory Testing Inc. employed 20 technicians and support staff who provided customers with commercial NDT services and Certified Test Reports from a 30,000 sq. ft. facility. Under Mike’s leadership, the company has grown to three facilities with a total of 91,500 sq. ft. and a staff of 145. LTI’s services now include a wide-array of nondestructive testing, materials testing, specimen machining, calibration and dimensional inspection. All departments work with the latest equipment and technology.
