History

Established in 1987.

We are an independent book store in a world of large, big box retailers. Yet, we carry more than 10,000 titles including best-​sellers to more esoteric tastes, books in English to those in 20 different languages. Over the years we have developed a relationship with some of the worlds most popular authors and illustrators, many from nearly towns in Westchester County. You may even bump into some of them in our shop, either as they browse our shelves, or appear at one of our many book signings and readings.

Since 1987 Galapagos Books has been a mainstay of the Hudson Valley and a destination for readers of all interests, all ages and all cultures.
