Cape Cod Lavender Farm

A quaint farm, truly a hidden gem. We visited off season but it still was truly a delight! My friend and I were greeted by the sweetest chocolate lab and the family was super sweet.

We thoroughly enjoyed this little hideaway. There’s a long winding dirt road and even now in September it was kind of exciting to see where it ends. It’s a very small place but know what, how many people can say they went to a lavender farm. We bought some lovely Lavender Rain for a Keepsake. It was a nice quiet atmosphere and the gentleman was very pleasant. I think children will love the fairy castle and you’ll love the scents.

This place is pretty small and hidden inside. I expected some lavender products at the gift shop but they didn’t really have any… The gift shop employees did not even greeted, they were chatting each other. They do sell some lavender plants, $ 15 – 20 dollars.

This place is kind of hidden. It’s really hard to find.
And if you’re looking for huge, lucious fields of lavender, you will be disappointed.
I was expecting a huge lavender farm. However, when I finally discovered the farm, there was a friendly dog, a little shop, and a small field of lavender flowers that weren’t in bloom. I give it 4 stars because it was a very cute place and it wasn’t a huge commercial or tourist-​y area. It was a very modest farm that is very peaceful and pleasant.

Love this little farm. Not too much to see but certainly worth stopping by and talking a nice relaxing walk around when the fields are in bloom and visiting the shop. I recently ordered online and they were incredibly helpful and accommodating with my requests. I will certainly be placing more online orders from them in the future. I love supporting small local businesses and it’s even better when the personal level of service makes it very well worth it.

We had a enjoyable visit to the Cape Cod Lavender Farm! Went with my parents and 9 year old daughter. Part of the fun is the drive down the long dirt driveway, looking for the little signs guiding our way. After reading some of the reviews here, I have a feeling that people don’t realize there are more fields then the small square patches by the shop. They have a larger field down a path, as well as one on the other side of their home. It is a farm so if you are expecting some glitzy tourist attraction, this isn’t for you. They grow and harvest lavender. Obviously, the best time to go is July when the lavender is in bloom. However, we enjoyed walking around and discovering the fairy house garden! My daughter loved visiting the creative little homes. This was the highlight for her as she loves building these at home. The owners were very friendly and welcoming. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit.

Not that hard to find! It is situated just off Rt 124 in Harwich… just use your GPS or map. The last mile of the road is unpaved and bumpy.
We visited today (mid-​June} and the lavender hasn’t bloomed yet, so it was pretty dull. In a couple of weeks it may be more colorful. There are some hiking paths that might be fun to explore, but the gardens themselves are not very large or impressive.
Beware…there is a large dog on the premises, and while we were there it attacked a visiting dog that was in the back of its owner’s SUV with the window rolled down. The Lavender Farm dog owner seemed unconcerned, and the visitor and her dog were terrified (we were too!). The Lavender Farm dog attacked a second time, and the visiting dog owner had a screaming meltdown. No apologies or acknowledgement from the farm owner, who witnessed the attack along with all the rest of the visitors. We were shocked and couldn’t wait to leave.
This event left a bad taste in our mouths, I don’t think we will return.

Even with GPS, this place was impossible to find. I asked the locals for which they wasn’t aware there is Lavender Farm close by. This place is nothing special. There is no need to go out of your way unless you want to buy Lavenders.

Thankfully there are arrows and signs guiding drivers to the farm or I am positive I would have never found it on my own! This is a rather small lavender farm than what I was anticipating after checking out their website. There isn’t too much to check out, there is the shop, a small patch of lavender then a walk straight then towards the right to more lavender.
We found a cute spot that looked like a little fairy castle with red mushrooms and lovely decorations. The lavender gift shop has a larger selection of gifts than I had imagined; marmalade which every guest who came in pointed out, body wash, lotion, candles, balm, salt scrub, pillows, soap, lavender plants, essential oil, fresh bundles of lavender and books.
The owner was very helpful and the whole spot has so much charm. The parking can be a little tricky, credit cards are accepted and of course bring your camera!

Uh, well, this certainly wasn’t what I expected. Sure, I had high hopes for a lavender farm in Harwich, and based on the website, was expecting a bit more than this charming but entirely ramshackle operation. The website and facebook page describe this patch of land as one of the largest lavender farms on the East Coast, boasting over 14,000 plants. Overlooking Island Pond in Harwich on Cape Cod. Idyllic, serene, bucolic, etc. etc. etc. Flowery adjectives just don’t cut it.
It’s basically someone’s backyard. A quaint little shack (transactions on the honor system) sells a handful of lavender goods, but nothing exciting enough to want to pick up. A shame, as I LOVE cooking and baking with lavender, hence the enthusiasm about checking it out in the first place.
The lavender field itself is adorable but sad. Sure, I wasn’t expecting the dizzyingly vast fields of Provence, but a little square of plants wasn’t what I expected from «one of the largest lavender farms on the East Coast.» The one time I DIDN’T check the Unilocal reviews, I was laughably let down.
But all in all, lavender lovers, if you’re passing through, stop in for 5 minutes and look around. Everything obviously smells amazing. Just don’t go out of your way to drive here or come with high expectations.

Complete waste of time– and let me expand why…
The location was difficult to find. We were still doubting ourselves when we got there since there was nobody else… yes… nobody… the shop was on honor system and honestly… there wasn’t even anything I can’t get elsewhere… may not be the exact same product but that’s not the point…
Doesn’t look anything like the picture on the website… I wish I had spent the time somewhere else in Cape Cod…

As another reviewer already mentioned, based on their website, I thought this place was much bigger. I’m glad we didn’t dedicate a huge chunk of the day to visiting it (or make a special trip out), as we were there for about 10 minutes and there was not much to see.

Love the Lavender Farm. It is one of my favorite stops on the Cape. As the other reviews mention, it is off an unpaved road with ends in a small clearing filled with lavender and a small self-​help shop. The shop is filled with dry lavender, soaps, and lotions. My favorite is the lemon-​lavender jelly — never seen it before or since. It has quickly become a personal favorite.

I was very disappointed in this farm. We went on opening day and not a soul was there. A little barn with minimal products and a sign said self serve. Not much lavender to speak of. Web site looks much better than the real thing. We drove 1 hour to get there. UGH!

A little bit disappointed with this one. I did the research online and I thought this place would be huge. It wasn’t and there was a teeny shop with some info about the place. There is a farm nearby which was equally disappointing. However, there is a great park nearby for hiking with plenty to see.

Here’s a cheer for family farms!
This is an interesting place to find. You drive to the end of a neighborhood street and then on to a dirt path past a charming family farmhouse in the woods. You keep driving and following the tiny arrows to a little clearing where the lavender grows next to an adorable country store. When we visited in the off season there wasn’t a single soul in the woods and the store was self serve.
Based on their website I was expecting a bigger operation but instead we found ourselves alone in a unique, enchanting place — a fairytale forest with a well stocked cottage store, friendly patio and lavender fields.
