Horrible attitudes in this office for no reason. I expected better, but I guess not.

Is it possible to have a favorite DMV office? If so this is mine.
I’ve been frequenting this one since I’ve gotten my license and haven’t ever had a bad time.
Once you get through the metal detector (leave your pocket knives and guns at home) there’s a main line to stand in. After the main line you get sorted and given a number. Don’t let the number phase you because there are several different queues going at once. You might be «B64» and the person behind you might be «A23».
Sometimes if it’s a duplicate license or a simple address change you can be in and out in under a half hour. More complicated things can take upwards of an hour to two.
FYI: CASH ONLY!

Truthfully, this place is A LOT more organized than I remember.
You go in, get in line, tell them what you need and they give you a number. Then you sit and wait until they call you. Everything moves pretty quickly and smoothly. Always remember to bring your insurance and car registration info. And the DMV only takes cash, so be aware of that. I suggest going early in the morning when everyone is still in a pretty good mood and the crowd isn’t too thick.

Everyone told me to go to the new one at the foot of vets. HA! Big mistake. I’ve been going to this location since before the storm and now I remember why. Because (a) no one goes here; and (b) they have their shit together. Uopn entering the other location I was told it would take about 2/2.5 hours just to get the addy changed on my DL. WTF?! At this location it took about 45mins. Talk about a huge difference.

Once there, distinctly was I wary, it was no bleak February,
And each separate tortured soul wrought their soles upon the floor.
Eagerly I wished the morrow; — vainly I had sought to borrow
From my smartphone surcease of sorrow — sorrow for my expired tabs —
For the cheap but necessary whore whom the demons named New Tabs —
Hours wasted here for evermore.
And the gods damn uncertain blinking of each lighted number
Thrilled me — filled me with fantastic terrors there in line on the floor;
So that then, to still the beating of my heart, I stood thinking
«I fucking hate the DMV. Fuck you DMV. Fucking fuck you —
Fuck fuck fuck fuck fuck fuck fuck fuck fuck fuck FUCK YOU; -
That is all, and nothing more.»
(Special note: Cash or check only. Prepare to wait in line for at least an hour to get a number to wait some more. Then you have to wait again to pay. It’s really awesome, nevermore…)

Not too terrible as far as any visit to the OMV is concerned. There is plenty of parking in the lot in front and there were only 10 or so other people in line when I got there at 7:58am. One important thing to note about this location is that it is in some state office building so you have to go through security. That means leave your pistols and mace in the car, please. I was in and out within 20 minutes with my new license and although I thought the clerk I dealt with was unnecessarily snappy, I’d probably hate myself too if I worked there.
