I started refinishing and restoring furniture over 20 years ago. People would bring me pieces that belonged to family members who had passed on and was in need of restoration. The one that stands out the most was an old oak rocking chair that belonged to an elderly man. It had belonged to his grandmother and mother who had rocked him on it as a baby. After I restored the chair the man cried upon seeing it. I had saved the memories associated with the chair. It ignited a passion in me for restoring furniture that carried over to kitchen cabinets and wood floors.
