Hartsdale Train Station

Eh.
This station works. Trains are routinely late during the weekday but spot on schedule on the weekends. If you need assistance, you’re SOL — there’s no booth or attendant. Ticket machines are only located on the GC bound side. There’s a Starbucks right up front and a farmer’s market that runs on Saturdays in the warmer months.
The station is located within walking distance of a number of stores/​restaurants, which works well for me whenever I want to grab something on the way home, which is also walking distance.
No frills, clean station that does the job. Hold your @ss weekday mornings — folks (unfortunately, usually grannies and grampies who should know better) are aggressive and will push you to get on the train.
The clock doesn’t project the right time but since the train is usually late, that’s to be expected.

After taking the MTA all my life, the Metronorth seems like a total upgrade. Your typical outdoor platform that’s connected to a garage. They also have a Starbucks with limited amount of seating so you can wait there while getting your caffeine fix. Another plus was that they had a farmer’s market behind the platform which had all kinds of organic fruits and veggies. Even had a pickle guy who was nice enough to give my nephew a free pickle cause he was packing up. Real cool. Think the guy shirt’s said «License to Dill» lulz!

Starbucks is great. Great staff. But can MetroNorth spend 5 minutes to fix the clock in the station? pathetic.

There’s a Starbucks in the train station lobby, which is very convenient for grabbing coffee or a newspaper for the ride in.
Just note that there’s only one teller window open in the morning. On the first of the month, there’s usually a ~10 minute wait to buy a monthly pass (or conduct any other business at the window), so make sure to get there early if you didn’t buy your pass in advance.

Even if it’s Starbucks, it’s still nice to have a coffee shop next to the New York-​bound platform. They sell newspapers and offers several tables where you can sit while you stay warm and wait for the train in the cold winter months.
