Specialties

To The Pointe Performing Arts opened its doors in 1988 to serve the needs of the community for an academy style dance school, complete with mirrors, cushioned wood floors, and stationary bars. Our mission and vision have been the same since 1988 — to offer quality dance instruction in a holistic approach being taught by high-level, professional teachers. We focus on the «whole» student by using arts, science, health, culture, and knowledge to inspire creativity, learning, and the mind-body connection. We are committed to the Professional Standards of Teaching in the Dance Arts and have the faculty and programs to readily adapt our programs to the public and private school systems to help them meet the goals set forth at the state and national levels for Arts Education. Dancers can audition for the To The Pointe Performance Dance Company, and singers & dancers can audition for a spot in the Vocal Pointe Song & Dance Troupe. Pointe Players is the perfect opportunity for aspiring thespians, and our newest addition, TTP Crew, is perfect for qualified hip hop dancers. Former TTP students are currently dancing with the Joffrey Ballet Chicago, Threads Dance Project in the Twin Cities, and on in productions, events, TV, and stage on both coasts. Please visit our website for addition class information!

History

Established in 1988.

To The Pointe was established in August of 1988. The next summer a second, larger studio was added. Ballet, Jazz, and Tap were offered along with pre-school classes and combination Ballet-Jazz classes. Tumbling was added in 1992.

In 1994, the school moved to Hwy 83 in the Hartland Industrial Park. Three studios accommodated a growing number of students, and a second unit was added in 1996 to house a gymnastics training facility.

After three years of rapid growth, and no room for expansion at the Hwy 83 location, there was a search for a larger facility.

The school was moved to 1115 Cottonwood Ave in 2002, doubling the size of the facility with four studios, and adding Theatre, a Fine Arts Pre-school, and larger gymnastics area.

As we approach our 25th year, we are thankful to the many families who have shared their time with us, and the alumni who continue to stay in touch, and have returned with their children, or to take class themselves again.
